Thomas And Friends Pull n Zoom Take n Play Challenge

- Pull 'n Zooms are exciting new Deluxe Die Cast Engines for Take-n-Play. Pull the cargo car back, set the engine down, and watch them go! They can zip around on track or on a smooth surface.
This video exposes what this series of toys can and can't do via different challenges using other Take n Play toys and track, there are some places this self powered Thomas will not go and loads it can't pull. The series includes Thomas, Percy and James.
I look at price comparisons to other Thomas and Friends products on the market and also take a look under the boiler to see the secret wind-up engine which powers this toy and do a modification to really let Thomas have a free run.
As a collector it's a great Thomas to have, but it is very much a luxury item when considering the price. Children tend to enjoy pushing their toy trains around by hand, especially the Take n Play range.

I remembered this video and I was a kid playing with Thomas Take Alongs and Take and Play Era in the late 2000s when they first released in the childhood nostalgic!

I did not get too wound up doing this review, although I did pull a few strings to borrow my son's toys.
In the end I screwed around and found out that Thomas works even better once he's a no strings attached guy. Mind you he does lack being tender on some subjects!!
And this is why English is so confusing to so many.
I'm not sure if you can call this lazy, I detailed three totally different metal castings to the Thomas model, that did surprise me
If they were lazy only one casting would be used across all model variants
For what is a tiny toy it does do fairly well and inside Thomas is very little room
look out for the Percy set which has Kevin in there as well, it's a excellent buy
some of the multi vehicle take n play sets are really good

yes, I think that caboose is a little out of sync, I much prefer the no caboose look with ultimate speed

i grew up watching this and i still remember this
There are two things you need for good haulage, one is a low ratio gear setting and some weight over the wheels, this toy has neither
It has sacrificed speed for pulling power, some may argue you can't have both unless your got rockets attached

TOMY had some excellent pull backs as well, I have a few of them and they really go a long way

the opening bit is pretty simple and hopefully I show what this small toy can and can't do without sending the audience to sleep
Here's an idea for Thomas, replace the caboose with Annie and have Clarabel coupled at the back. I honestly think they should have done that or have him pull a freight car instead.
I love the part where Thomas says, "Move over cranky-puss!!!" to Diesel 10 XD

Oh, and the face is the current CGI incarnation, and surprisingly a good match for it. Can't say I like it compared to the original model faces mind.

I think it would be too difficult, the way the windup power is released is a bit peaky for HO track

That is a really good toy, I haven't seen these yet here in the UK. I will have to keep a look out! I think I prefer the thomas with the caboose on because that way you can attach carriges to him. Considering he is clockwork he is very expensive!

I think it's a nice idea just having that Thomas as a singular string pull toy without that wagon attached. I wonder if there is a modification for him to pull any wagons?

Considering the price of the toy, I wouldn't really wanna buy it. Probably because of the nature of the string pully being attached a wagon/tender. If there was a different place for the string to go, then it wouldn't look as weird when pulling lots of trucks.
Had noticed in the comic section of the village store that with a Thomas magazine, they have some Thomas take-along look-a-likes, with Thomas, Annie and Clarabel. Will have a look at what they are meant for.

Over here in around the Eastern side of the United States, they're about $9, compared to about $22 where you live, it's really amazing how prices really range in different parts of the world
