I am a white male and lost my job at the first of the year. I enrolled
and went back to school to learn a new trade. I went to class today that
had 4 black males, 3 other white males, 1 Asian guy, 1 Asian lady, and 1
pregnant white lady. Nobody got shot, disrespected, talked down to,
nobody was rude, or loud. Everyone was respectful, willing to assist
others and we had some laughs and even managed to learn some new things.
It was a good day. The same thing happened yesterday and I fully expect
the same thing tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. I could also
feel a sense of everyone was pulling for everyone else to be successful.
That's MY news today.

What confuses me about BLM want me to think that I have white privilege. No I’m not privileged because of my race, I worked hard to pass my exams, travel from Britain to America to go to medical school and hopefully become a nurse. I'm a White guy in my mid 60s. I was not raised in a racist home and in fact, have never been racist. I have a number of life-long Black friends. Two of them and their families live in the UK. The only way I can see them is if I visit them in the UK, since they will not come to the US because of the racial climate here. I find this very sad. My take on the BLM movement is that it's not enough for White people to say they aren't racist but rather, they need to take a more pro-active approach to stop racism. I guess my question goes to Black people --- what pro-active approaches stand a good chance of working? I have two young grandchildren, and I would like nothing better than to see them grow up in a society of racial acceptance. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.
