Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I honestly thought my toilet was going to stay blocked until I called for a plumber. It took a few buckets of hot water but then it suddenly unblocked and it’s (sadly) the most satisfying thing that I have experienced in quite some time.
Today's toilets are garbage. In the 70s my toilet would flush down concrete bricks. Today a bit of paper and the toilet won't flush. I think it has to with the water savings feature. I'm not a plumer but it's the only explanation I have. I go fing nuts when I see that the water won't stop and begins to over flow. I go into a crazy panic. The thought of water with little pieces of crap coming over the top. By the time you get some towels it just to late. Then that water begins to cover the whole floor in the bathroom. I don't think I stopped using the f word for 20 minutes. I have had that happen and before I could stop it that crap water is coming down the wall in the basement. That's always a joy to clean up.
I took a titanic sized shit just now and it clogged the toilet badly. Tried a plunger but to no avail. The titanic wasn't sinking this time, so I looked up your video. It worked within minutes and I sent jack and rose down the drain 🛳🚽
SyphonicOllie, Are you aware that there are people in this world that have a severe medical condition which causes them to be that way? My mother for instance is one of those people. She is a truck driver that has bad knees and a bad back from driving the truck, but you probably do not care about that case either. Oh well I am not one of those people I am 6'4" 245lbs and I exercise every day. I would love to see you say something like that to my mother in front of me. Probably never happen though you are probably just an internet toughie. I doubt very seriously you would say that to someones face. Just my thought. What do you think? So my 2 cents worth. My 1st 'volley' is the lethal part. The trick is preventing it from rolling up into a ball. SO I start flushing a few seconds - before - the 1st salvo, and it seems to take it away straight and clean - almost always when timed right. Also, my 1st easy attempt is 1 flush - plus - bucket of water immediately on top of it, room permitting, and I've actually seen it drop like a brick - and away. Good ol gravity at work for you. What a subject!

Rule #1: If your toilet is backed up, especially with a high water level in the bowl, DO NOT flush straightaway. Even the smartest folks are ignorant of this life lesson. Also, the method in this video does work, as I have had success.
7 years later this is still saving lives, worked like a charm 30 seconds after pouring water in, thanks god I still had the dish washing detergent I bought thinking it was dish soap.

This sounds like a great tip and could also be used as preventative maintenance by adding a little bit of dish detergent and hot water every month or even per week in heavily used toilets!

I tried this tips this morning and it worked like magic, even though you need some real hot water and good dishwashing liquid, mine was quite bad so i got to do it twice for it to work.
Guys, it actually works. Advice here; buy a very cheap washing liquid as you will need to use half the bottle for it to be effective. Like the above example, mine was blocked to the top rim. I was actually going to call a plumber 'til I saw this video. CHEERS, MATE!!!!!

Dude, thank you! You just saved me the price of a plunger (and the return bus fare to go into town and get one)! If anyone else comes across this vid and has doubts, just try it anyway! I boiled a half-filled 1.6 litre kettle then filled the rest with cold water as soon as it was done to get water that was hot but not hot enough to crack porcelain. Dumped that in with washing-up liquid the 1st go, let that drain over the course of about 90 min, dumped 2nd kettle's worth in, that drained out over about 40min, wasn't feeling totally confident but gave the half-tank flush a go - boop, normal working order restored! And the washing-up liquid's cleaned the bowl a bit for me in the process!

3 day trying to unclog my toilet. With not results. Decided I came to UA-cam and come across with this genius. Only take me to pour some liquid ,some powder detergent and my kettle full of boiling water. At first water flush easy, anyway after 20 i pour another kettle full of boiling water. I'm happy with the results.

This worked for me too and avoided a mess on my plunger. However, after everything clears up, you should still clear it with a plunger just to be sure. I used a water jet plunger that I bought for about $7.
So what if you flush your toilet and water starts rising out of the sink? I think the unforgivably massive post-constipation shit I took blocked the whole system deep down. It was as large as my arm. Last time the plumber came he said it was the worst job he's ever had to do. He looked like he had PTSD. Never been so proud of myself.
I always take those post constipation dumps at a restaurant toilet. It clogs up their toilets every time and ends up with toilet water coming out on the floor. not my problem
If water starts rising in the sink, it suggests that the blockage is further down in the drain, rather than just the toilet. In that case you would need a plumber.
I started trying to unclog my blocked toilet at 7 am after following your instructions and reading the comments here. No improvement after 20 minutes. I tried putting in more dishwashing liquid about 3 times and pouring hot water from the bathroom ....still no luck.I was starting to think my case was the exception and had a light bulb moment where the idea of boiling hot water from the kettle came to mind...I boiled 2 rounds of water, poured them in a bucket and down the drain and voila .....I heard that gustling noise to show all the water was going down. Did that twice and now things are back to normal. Thanks a lot for the hack. You have saved me several pounds associated with plumbing costs.🙂

Had to go through the process a couple more times than talked about in the video, but it eventually worked on the worst clog I have ever had in my 66 years of life due to a "water efficient" toilet that takes many, many flushes even for a little crap. Do research before you buy a so-called water efficient toilet. If it doesn't work immediately, you still have the benefit of a lemony smell instead of a stink, and if you keep at it, it will work!

It worked like a charm! The 💩 has been floating for 30 mins, I thought it would never flushed down. I do manial flushing and no use. Tried this and wait 20mins. So my 2 cents worth. My 1st 'volley' is the lethal part. The trick is preventing it from rolling up into a ball. SO I start flushing a few seconds - before - the 1st salvo, and it seems to take it away straight and clean - almost always when timed right. Also, my 1st easy attempt is 1 flush - plus - bucket of water immediately on top of it, room permitting, and I've actually seen it drop like a brick - and away. Good ol gravity at work for you. What a subject!

Rule #1: If your toilet is backed up, especially with a high water level in the bowl, DO NOT flush straightaway. Even the smartest folks are ignorant of this life lesson. Also, the method in this video does work, as I have had success.

This sounds like a great tip and could also be used as preventative maintenance by adding a little bit of dish detergent and hot water every month or even per week in heavily used toilets!

Guys, it actually works. Advice here; buy a very cheap washing liquid as you will need to use half the bottle for it to be effective. Like the above example, mine was blocked to the top rim. I was actually going to call a plumber 'til I saw this video.

If anyone else comes across this vid and has doubts, just try it anyway! I boiled a half-filled 1.6 litre kettle then filled the rest with cold water as soon as it was done to get water that was hot but not hot enough to crack porcelain. Dumped that in with washing-up liquid the 1st go, let that drain over the course of about 90 min, dumped 2nd kettle's worth in, that drained out over about 40min, wasn't feeling totally confident but gave the half-tank flush a go - boop, normal working order restored! And the washing-up liquid's cleaned the bowl a bit for me in the process!

3 day trying to unclog my toilet. With not results. Decided I came to UA-cam and come across with this genius. Only take me to pour some liquid ,some powder detergent and my kettle full of boiling water. At first water flush easy, anyway after 20 i pour another kettle full of boiling water.

This worked for me too and avoided a mess on my plunger.
However, after everything clears up, you should still clear it with a plunger just to be sure. I used a water jet plunger that I bought for about $7.
So what if you flush your toilet and water starts rising out of the sink? I think the unforgivably massive post-constipation shit I took blocked the whole system deep down. It was as large as my arm. Last time the plumber came he said it was the worst job he's ever had to do. He looked like he had PTSD. Never been so proud of myself.

If water starts rising in the sink, it suggests that the blockage is further down in the drain, rather than just the toilet. In that case you would need a plumber.

I started trying to unclog my blocked toilet at 7 am after following your instructions and reading the comments here. No improvement after 20 minutes. I tried putting in more dishwashing liquid about 3 times and pouring hot water from the bathroom ....still no luck.I was starting to think my case was the exception and had a light bulb moment where the idea of boiling hot water from the kettle came to mind...I boiled 2 rounds of water, poured them in a bucket and down the drain and voila .....I heard that gustling noise to show all the water was going down. Did that twice and now things are back to normal.

Had to go through the process a couple more times than talked about in the video, but it eventually worked on the worst clog I have ever had in my 66 years of life due to a "water efficient" toilet that takes many, many flushes even for a little crap. Do research before you buy a so-called water efficient toilet. If it doesn't work immediately, you still have the benefit of a lemony smell instead of a stink, and if you keep at it, it will work!

Add another hot water, flushed it with a bucket and the 💩 has gone! Heard a tiny sound in the flush. Finally! I can sleep now 😂 I’m going to it again until big sound of success in flush 😂
