Thanks! I’m moving to Battlefield V next, check it out. It’s like a movie. The game is 7 years old but bloody hell it’s amazing, I had no idea. Truly beautiful
I had no idea about those AA medhanics, that will be really good to know koving forward. Thanks for such in depth videos! Keep it up, looking forward to more.
Many people don’t, but they’re some of the most complex mechanics in the game. Once you get in the habit of letting the long shots pass and only taking the aircraft which give themselves to you, your kill rate goes way up. Another reason to always be moving, creates those opportunities
Keep up the great work, and if you're going to continue to play 2042, I would love to see more of your squad play with your friends. Just enjoy overall gameplay and teamwork.
Yet another fantastic analysis. I only dabbled with the TOR and I could never make heads or tails why it was so hard to get used to hitting things. Now I understand why. Thanks!
Really glad it helped - it’s not the easiest set of mechanics to understand, hope others get something out of it too. It’s a fun vehicle, give it a try - be on the other side ;)
Good breakdown. As far as the weakness of the TOR at close range, one trick to mitigate it is to rotate the main body as you charge your shot (assuming you don't have the option to decouple the turret from the body enabled). It takes time to get the hang of it, but it allows you to make macro adjustments to your aim (at least horizontally) without having to stop charging the main cannon. The one point I disagree with is the use (or lack thereof) of Siege mode. By all means, sitting on the back of the map with it is definitely a waste of the vehicle, however there are moments where using it can make a huge difference. If you know you're about to engage another heavy armour or multiple vehicles and if you can get the jump on them, quickly enabling it will give them a much shorter window of opportunity to react. Go into it before you peek, take your shots then go back to normal mode. With all that being said, I probably still wouldn't pick the TOR over the MBT in the vast majority of situations.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll definitely need to try the turret decoupling. Didn’t know that was possible. On siege mode yes what you’re describing could work, but being rooted in place has very rarely ever worked out well for me & speed is the best thing the TOR has going for it. Perhaps it’s just my play style, but I’d never give up the ability to run or reposition. I’d also rather take the chance to target a weak spot if I’ve not been seen yet. I do enjoy my MBT but purely personal view? The TOR made it extinct with the exception of Haven map & getting the Canister shot.
Amazing work man :) You got some amazing clips in this one. Glad to see another supporter of the aggressive TOR play. Looking forward to your future work.
Thanks Dan much appreciated - it’s not gone down well with people so far but it’s my view and I’m sticking with it! I recall well the last time I did a TOR video it was… polarising! Hope all is well, take care.
Love your delivery and detailed explanation of your thought process. Seems like a TON of work to create this kind of video. Looking forward to ANYTHING you produce in the future, BF V sounds great!
Thanks a lot for the support! Yeah this vid was a big effort, but I fear a little too long for most people looking at the initial reaction 😅 I’m absolutely loving BFV, doing that next!!
Appreciate the upload! I never knew about the speed reduction past a certain angle, that was super cool to learn about wow. Glad to see your videos improve each upload!
The AA mechanics are probably the trickiest in the game, it took me a while to get my head around it / figure out what to shoot for & what not to. Glad you found it useful & are seeing improvement in the video quality. Try my best to have footage which actually matches what I’m taking about and isn’t just Mackay shooting infantry whilst talking about changes to attack helicopters 😅
Very good content! one of the few who actually understands whats going on, doesnt complain and tries to make it work! earned yourself a new sub! good job man
Thanks a lot - yeah I see the negativity I’ve no time for it. If people are that upset about it stop playing, it’s not a big deal. Even better, raise some investment, go start your own studio and show us how it’s done. I’d respect that a lot more.
If you want to learn something about a specific topic in Battlefield 2042, this is the place folks! I didn't knew that the Angle messes with the Projectile speed. Some pretty sweet shots in there Timeless! Great Video!
Thanks Knul - closing out the last of my knowledge for 2042 before keeping it to fun times & just enjoying the squad play. Looking forward to Sunday’s vid from you, have a feeling it’ll be funny 😇
@@timelessgamer_UK Yess, also the plane's TTK is slower than 2042, gives us more time to react, But give the bombers easy time will ya, ex bomber here speaking, there is nothing we can do when fighters hunt us down 🤣
Fair - but for me (and this is just my experience I could be mistaken), anchoring myself to the spot gets me in trouble than the increased ROF justifies. It also stops me pursuing a target round the corner / over the hill to just get that final tap & blow it up. Do you use siege in ground vehicle fights, or to go for air targets?
Great video bro, i didnt even know what the aa changes really were since i use wildcar 35mm with AT missiles anyway. I love the TOR, never use siege mode and dont really target air with it
Glad you enjoyed it - so far this is my most hated video, the TOR really seems to trigger people! In any event I like it and from my point of view it’s a welcome addition to the game. Novel gameplay & challenges for dealing with it. Adapt or die :)
Haha - I mean my final word on the TOR! I’ve said all I have to say, I’m not really into killstreak composition vids so that’s the last railgun shot from me on this channel unless it’s in the next BF 😅
@@timelessgamer_UK Thank you, as an old gamer (I am 52) gaming since the Commodore 64 in the 80s I feel quite bad in the BF 2042 because age take its toll, I was unbeatable in BF1942 but its been 22 years since then and I am really lagging behind everyone in the 2042. Watching videos like yours helps (hope so) to play smarter because I cant rely on skill and reflexes any more. Thank you mate! Best!
@@igordugonjic You're most welcome, and I was with you on the Commodore 64 playing Rampage, winding my cassette. I played Contra in the Arcade when it first came out & had my mind blown. I was there right next to you, all be it a little younger :) One of the things I truly love about vehicle play in BF is that it is not about reflexes (at least not too much). Making a plan, executing and rolling with the surprises is viable. I help my team through deliberate, calm plays. Let the young guys run and gun. Keep gaming mate, I'll still be here when I'm 52 and hope to see you still at it at 63 :)
Hammer rounds are only good on the ground superiority or all out superiority where you need to have more/faster replenishing ammo. Strat is to shoot targets who are already low on health. T1d this thing doing this.
In a recent game i killed 3 mini helicopters idk hiw they are called, they are super fast, hard to hit, it was so satisfying. After a couple of shots you already start to see how mad they are chasing you with enginieer c5, rockets etc.
Those would be Nightbirds, and yes - they’re salty sometimes and very often the Lissiles will start raining down on any TOR player who shot them 😅 You’re a hero for taking them out - keep at it!
Perhaps and all power to people who make it work for them. For me, having that extra canister shot has been the difference between getting C5’ed or not many times. Also takes out Lissiles really well.
APS combined with speed is a wonderful thing -- 6 seconds is a long time for a TOR to get away, especially as you don't need to get too close. Give it a try, just leave yourself a way out & be ready on that APS trigger. It's good fun, the TOR is a monster.

The TOR is great. I agree with not sitting in the back, but not necessarily with never using siege mode. The ROF increase is very useful.
