Great video. As a pilot in every Battlefield game I've played, the AA tanks are the second biggest threat next to other pilots. Pilots need friendly main battle tanks to hunt the AA. Tanks are far more effective at killing them than Jets. From the jet perspective top down attacks on the Wildcat, are you best shot. Gain as much altitude as you can. The dive bomb. You will force the Wildcat to move because their guns can't get you. Rockets and 30 mm are your best friends. The Wildcat is very deadly in the right hands, as this video shows. Great video. Grab the Wildcat when the air is dominated by the enemy team. The game is rock, paper, scissors.
A Jet pilot who can truly, truly dive bomb you with rocket pods is terrifying. Next to nothing you can do about them either, unless as you say someone on your team can disrupt - either a pilot or another AA with a better angle. I’m actually pretty impressed with the way “Rock Paper Scissor” matches do have the potential to turn out unusual ways, through skill and also just the natural chaos of the game. I only play Heli but I’m always looking for the AA Wildcat and if I see someone put a 40mm on it, I leave them alone. Don’t want a real AA coming in. Rail guns are brilliant for sprints across the map to pick off Wildcats. TORs are useless against Helis. I think it’s pretty well balanced actually! A good Wildcat though can cause a massive upset, especially when your pilots are good & keeps the opponents busy up there. Like so much in this game, your results are heavily linked to your team mates

First off: Excellent work on your videos! Immediate like/sub. 2nd: Thank you for being a voice of reason. Too many times I’ve watched my team get pummeled by air when our wildcat is either camping our spawn or running the 40mm the entire match. 3rd. If air is dominant on the enemy team and we are keeping their ground vehicles controlled, I will use AA missiles….like you said just firing a missile to deter them can be a huge help if they aren’t able to stay in the combat zone long enough for a kill. In addition I always make sure to fire 1 off and by the time their flares are finished it’s already reloaded….the non-ace pilots will usually catch two in the face after that, or sometimes it allows teammates with lock one to finish them.

This is only fun if people are watching & enjoying along with me 😅 The 40mm shouldn’t even be in the game - Dice made clear when they put the Wildcat in its own category and gave it the 35mm cannon it was an AA weapon designed to counter Helis and Jets. Why leave the 40mm at all? It can’t even beat a CAV which has thicker armour and APS plus heavier hitting gun. I’m with you on the AA missiles and as I hope I reflected in the video, everything you say is completely valid. There is value in pushing an aircraft out of the zone. There’s value in downing inexperienced pilots (inexperienced doesn’t mean they can’t kill). There’s value in setting up a teammate for success. There’s no wrong answer I just lean to AT so I can survive / help on the ground when the air is quiet. No argument from me at all with anyone who rolls with AA missiles. Love the vid, great entertainment and always good to learn new things. As a side note, don't disregard the gunner stations as well. They can help watch the ground while you're focussed on air. I love being a gunner (& engineer for repairing) and if the vehicle isn't setup right I can lose interest and bail out. Things like thermal optics, or the 60mm flak that can be devastating, are always fun and keep me in the seat. Thermal optics also means you can spot mines and it makes infantry easy to spot when hiding. Don't forget easy to use weapons for novices wanting to give it a go and become better players. i.e things like the kinetic grenade can take a bit of learning to get it right and frustrate people. Anyway, have yourself a great xmas. Look forward to your vids next year mate. :)
I’m all about the 60mm flak to take out Nightbirds that are circling me - and the thermal LMG is essential for cheeky infantry trying it on. I had so much I wanted to say in this vid but it ended up being well over 25 minutes, I don’t think anyone sticks with me for that long! You’re absolutely right though, and I did have a whole section on absolutely destroying infantry but I felt it went against the primary message that the Wildcat is AA… I see so many people using them as baby tanks, and now the air is so bloody dangerous I felt I needed to make this appeal 😅 Have a great Xmas too, actually sending this message having just got to the hotel. Head to head is simply who can hit the other faster - and if a jet wants to start that fight there’s nothing you can do but play it out. Give yourself every edge you can & make use of the thick armour. Wildcats are very weak from the rear.
Ok so… people aren’t going to agree with this, but I would absolutely run the Flak cannon. Why: Nightbirds. When they get close it can be hard to target them, but one 60mm flak pod to the face and they’re done. I’d also have a regular LMG to look for Mackay / C5 players. Im primarily an infantry player but when a person can use a Wildcat as the intended role its nice to have helicopters and jets warded away. Unfortunately 90% of people in Wildcats use them for infantrymen to get their K/D ratio up.
Agree - and that’s why I made this vid. It was bad enough but now the Jets are savage too, we need to change this behaviour 😅 Wildcat is AA, your job is to keep the skies safe. I still think Dice should consider adding scoreboard points for downing vehicles. You get more credit for reviving a player than you do shooting down a Night Bird. Could change peoples behaviour if there was more reward in it?
excellent video, as an experienced wild cat user, I recommend using 35 mm. Before, the 30 mm was the best option no doubt, but after the 25 % nerf against attack helicopters is no longer good overall.
Completely agree on the Heli nerf, talked about that on my last Apache vid. Against Helis the 35mm is brutal. Do you ever switch seats to use the 60mm Flak canister? That’s saved me a few times
It is definitely my default loadout on the Wildcat of the Dual 35mm and AT missiles. It took some getting used to the 35mm, but they will melt aircraft and do decent damage to armor. Especially other Wildcats who use the 30mm cannot out damage you before you can with the 35mm. Have a merry christmas and a happy new year! I don’t understand YT search & distribute algorithm at all - the vid before this one didn’t even get out the door. This one was given a chance & did quite well. Others which have WAY higher stats only came to life months later. As someone who makes these vids I’m so confused - I just do my best and who the hell knows how YT will treat it. I'm really surprised that the AT rockets deal so much damage. Never used them. Very nice breakdown, and i hope it shows people that the 40mm is not an option for the wildcat. I don't even know why dice gives us the option at all. If you use it right like you showed us. You just melt everything in the air and get your team one step closer to winning the game. The AT missiles are a really well kept secret, and AA doesn’t really do a lot against a capable pilot other than piss them off / make them withdrawn for 15 seconds. So long as you keep your ground fights fast & don’t go head to head with a Tank you’re good. The 40mm makes no sense at all. None. It should have been removed when Dice rightly gave us the 35mm and put the Wildcat in its own AA category at the start of season 5. So, no passive or tow missles? I'm new to bf2042. I've played many hours of bf4 and loved the real AA vehicle, LAV and even the attack boat options to kill air. Lock on air sucks. Tow and passive were my go to. Like I said in brand new to 2042. Only two weeks new
Welcome to the party, I’m the opposite of you in that 2042 is my first BF. TOW is on the Main Battle Tanks and I believe the MAV armoured transport. TOW features far more prominently on the Attack and Stealth Helicopters. A specialist called Lis can carry / fire TV guided missiles which are bloody brilliant. The Wildcats doesn’t have these. The Tanks and MAV also have passive rockets which can become guided if a third player is using a SOFLAM target designator. Hope that helps.
In the event of an actual war, never follow the guy who says “I know what I’m doing I saw this on Battlefield”. Unless it’s that or following a guy who said “no worries lads I played a lot of CoD”. I guess find the Rainbow 6 guy 😅
man, i do my best in any vehicle. watching your play, i feel like my luck is always awful as it seems the entire team is switching to something to target and take me out no matter where i run to or try to hide. constant lock ons and constant peeps trying to dive bomb me from anywhere
There can be rounds where the other team is really switched on & going for you. Depending on the vehicle the strategy is different but with the Wildcat the advice I would definitely give is always be moving. It’s fine to stop for a bit, but everyone can see your bullets firing into the sky, and that will attract players. You also have the ‘revenge’ players to deal with, ppl who respawn and then come straight back to get the kill. Don’t stick in one place for too long. On the Battle Tanks / TOR, make sure you have APS equipped. If you take a big hit, pop it and put your foot to the floor. You’ve got about 7 seconds where you cannot be shot to get out of there (you can be locked but the missile if shot will be intercepted). Also, if in a tank try not to stay completely still, rock back and forth. Why? Because acceleration is significantly faster even if you’re only moving just a bit vs a total standstill. Hope that helps!
Hi - the cyber warfare protection system allows you stop a hack (basically defend against Rao). I can’t speak for everyone, but I don’t use it because 1) it’s a very rare occurrence being hacked vs taking damage. You cannot have Cyber Warfare and Repair, so I always take repair; 2) Rao’s hack is now WAY less effective than it was since changes were introduced. It no longer shuts down weapons, movement or mitigations. Frankly it’s worthless; 3) Cyber Warfare is most dangerous against helicopters, as it affects their flight controls. However using Repair removed the status effect of Hack making it even more pointless. Basically, and this is just my opinion, helicopter (Nightbird) pilots complained that players were getting smart and using Rao Hack more frequently to counter them / force them out of fights. Cyber Warfare suit apparently wasn’t enough for them as they wanted their repair function too. So Dice nerfed the hell out of Rao’s hack to make them (again) happy, because God Forbid we upset a Nightbird Pilot. Now the Cyber Warfare suite is kind of pointless… this is just my personal opinion.
@@timelessgamer_UK I see, I find it disappointing that it only serves to be the last unlockable countermeasure for the vehicle, I think it should be a type of APS but Soft kill, one like the real-life Russian shtora, or leave the nonsense and put the APS Hard Kill available for the Wildcat.
In BF4 I used the AA missiles exclusively to hit jets that were doing the "mad you're playing AA so they're gonna JDAM you twice at a directly 90 degree angle from above" thing and got too close (even popping APS late to bait them). I don't have BF2042 but I suspect the fact they have to lock on - rather than auto-locking when near - makes that tactic less viable?
I’ve only played 2042 so I’ll have to defer to another to answer this one - what 2042 Jets can do is drop near vertical from above the Wildcat / target and pull out the dive before slamming into the ground. This is very hard though as 1) you’ll be blind for the setting up the dive phase (you’d need exceptional positional awareness to be in the right place); and 2) you have to fire your rockets from far away to get them all out & leave time to pull up. For sure I’ve met the occasional player that can do this, but I don’t recall personally being taken out on the first run. I had a chance to pop repair and track them to upset a second pass. Hope that helps - give 2042 a shot I really don’t see why people say it’s so bad these days 😂
I'm sad that the jet rocket pods will get nerfed soon... wildcat spawn campers are so annoying. Just trying to have a dogfight with another jet and some wildcat from the opposite side of the map always has to step in lol just so they can end the game going 4-1 with 0 objective caps lol
Well nobody likes a spawn camper or any camper 😅 I’d be in favour of rockets hitting targets in spawn getting a special buff ;) I can’t sit still in BF I have to always be moving up & down the map. That said I greatly enjoy interrupting fights in my Wildcat, air or ground 😇
Ah yes the Draugr wasn't out when I made this video -- first, the best way to take down a Draugr is Lis. When they aim through the bomb sight they the pilot is totally blind, wait until they're on their dive and it's a free shot. With the Wildcat, you can shred a Draugr very easily if they're using Kerosene bombs as they'll want to get close to the target before dropping. JDAMMs are a little harder as they can engage at range & break off before having to commit too heavily. Bottom line, a Draugr MUST fly straight and level to drop their payload, whatever it is. Keep your eye on it, wait until it starts the approach and don't open fire until it gets relatively close. If you open up at max range, it'll be able to turn away before you can finish it. Let him come in just a little bit ;) If you're still having trouble let me know, I can send you a private vid of me smashing Draugrs. Wouldn't take long to make & happy to help (I'm not here for the clicks, just want ppl to have fun and enjoy the game).

Yes we’ve met before, Lustsen has been getting quite cross at me and my friends lately :) Good advice if you meet MyTH (other than just leave the server), get a CAV with AA Flak Cannon and some engineer friends. Stay quiet & look for them. Also remember they are never, ever alone. It’s always 5-6 against you in Jets and their RAM. Good luck. But really, just leave the server and go play something else (if it’s 128 you meet them in, switch to 64).

I’d say you can’t guarantee it - open up with one TOW and AV rockets (127mm) and see if they react. If they do back off (full reverse) and fight at range. I’d suggest backing off completely and let them forget about you, reset and try again
I legitimately despise the wildcat. Im having a good time in my jet or heli , then i fly over their spawn and there’s always some loser in their spawn with the wildcat, I personally think the should nerf how many missiles that thing can launch because a good majority of the time when i do good in an air vehicle the whole enemy team will swap to FMX-33 missile and lis
Ok so I absolutely do hear you - as I hope you’ve seen on my channel even if just the thumbnails, I love the Attack Heli and Stealth (even before they were buffed). I’m no air vehicle hater, though I do think the Nightbird is OP but that’s another point entirely. I have a theory about what’s going wrong here because I see it too, I’ll try and explain & see what you think. Dice has buffed the hell out of aircraft, the Jets got their Hydra rocket pods, Attack Helis are raw destruction and NBs continue to be OP. At the same time as this, they have 1) Nerfed the TOR (which is fine); 2) Nerfed Rao’s hack; and 3) increased dramatically the number of aircraft in rounds (some maps more than others). We also have an influx of new players (which is great) who are getting ripped apart from the sky with no idea wtf to do. I’ve also seen clans on my server teaming up with AA to try and protect their vehicles (especially RAM squads). The moment you shoot at them the APS goes up and you’ve got 3 Stingers locking onto you. What I think is happening is a mass reaction to how powerful the Helis have become. I remember before the buffs being Lis was quite lonely in season 4 and 5. Now I have a lot of help. A good Heli pilot, nevermind 3 and a Jet, can end a round. People are just pushing back. Can I blame them after my Apache just wiped out their Wildcat, MBT and MAV? My theory is Dice have made Aircraft so powerful / accessible (they now even have aim assist) even the most basic / casual of players cannot help but notice them - which put a massive bullseye on their backs & anyone can pick up a Stinger That’s what I think is going on. Action, reaction.
@@timelessgamer_UK yeah I agree with you the helis are incredibly op, i just think its really really easy to counter them with ground ordnance like lis, stingers and wildcats. You could say a skilled pilot would dodge them or whatever but i could say a skilled lis or wildcat player would still hit them and its just redundant. I was definitely a little heated leaving that comment probably just got destroyed by a wildcat, but i still think that wildcats are just lame, like im doing these cool maneuvers dodging missiles mowing down teams on rooftops engaging in air to air fights then a salty player that i killed will counter swap with a wildcat and stingers, so i have to basically hide from them and if i peak them at all im getting locked and shot at, basically making a no fly zone over a giant area and i cant do a thing about it. Its not like i can swap load outs on my heli or jet (doesn’t include apache). Also there is not much cover on these bf 2042 maps
Yeah I mean a salty player that wants your head is tough to deal with, especially if they’re just permanently following you around with a Stinger. Sure they probably won’t kill you but it’s still annoying / forces you to hide. A good heli pilot can only do so much - if it’s wall to wall with stingers, Lissiles and the such you’re either done or pushed out the map. But then, why should the player base have to put up with an AsheBF level NB player decimating them? It’s a tough one. I don’t have an obvious answer. All I know is a good heli pilot or three can end a round, and as long as that level of ability is in the game - we need Lis. If anything I would lose the Stingers.
@@timelessgamer_UK i don’t know. I think the nb needs a nerf and maybe the vehicle system changed. Like maybe you need kills or an objective captured for a vehicle spawn to where if you do really good you can have a vehicle for you and not whoever spam presses the helicopter button faster, or maybe it just speeds up the wait time so someone cant just immediately counter you with AA but you can have a helicopter or jet for you specifically. I dont know, the game cant be fun for everyone all the time

I won't play the Wildcat for a very simple good reason. The same reason i won't play any other vehicle neither. Which is, just as in every other BF game, the chances of getting a vehicle is freaking slim. Everyone is instalocking them. And i got bored already in BF4 to sit around and wait for one to be available.
I’m sorry to hear that - I have to say I don’t have any problems getting some access to a vehicle in any given round. Sure I don’t get what I want when I want it, but I cant complain. I’m usually on 128 Conquest, what mode do you play?
@@timelessgamer_UKYeah maybe there is some trick to it or dunno. But usually only the transport vehicles are left. Even though i have the game installed on an NVMe. :D Usually I play conquest too. If there is a 128 conquest available, then i prefer them too. The more people the better. But maybe that is also the reason. More people, more ppl who want to get a vehicle. But truth to be told, i usually play official game modes and not portal servers.
Oh yeah I’m almost 100% on official not portal. Hmm. Don’t know what to offer on this one… my matches tend to be pretty violent / lots of people getting wasted so no shortage of respawns. Good luck!
Nah the wildcat is joke.. atleast on console. Overheats so fkn much and turning and aiming perfectly is just impossible if the pilot isnt new. The heli circles around you as you spend most of your time waiting. You get lockon AND CANT EVEN SEE SHIT BC YOU JUST HAD TO SMOKE YOURSELF as the fker just circles around you and you cant even hit more than half of your slow as 35mm shots oh and now plz wait 10secs bc how dare you to shoot for longer than 7secs Got T1 with it. Heli is way more fun
I mean fair - it does overheat easily (especially the 35mm) and if you’re tier 1 there’s probably nothing I can tell you that you don’t already know. The only thing, maybe, is putting 60mm Flak on the third gunner seat. If a NB or Stealth is doing rings around you, they’re close. Switch to the 60mm and one Flak canister in the face - they’re done. They don’t see it coming. I love playing heli, but also makes me appreciate how lethal they are. Wildcat isn’t perfect but it’s a tool to push back & give needed help. If it’s war, I get Lis (at least until Dice nerf her).
Wildcat is the worst vehichle in bf 2042. Yes im just mad because they ruin my dogfights every single time I spawn in a jet. You won’t understand unless you main jets so don’t reply with some useless counter argument unless you have mained jets :(

2nd: Thank you for being a voice of reason. Too many times I’ve watched my team get pummeled by air when our wildcat is either camping our spawn or running the 40mm the entire match.
3rd. If air is dominant on the enemy team and we are keeping their ground vehicles controlled, I will use AA missiles….like you said just firing a missile to deter them can be a huge help if they aren’t able to stay in the combat zone long enough for a kill. In addition I always make sure to fire 1 off and by the time their flares are finished it’s already reloaded….the non-ace pilots will usually catch two in the face after that, or sometimes it allows teammates with lock one to finish them.

The 40mm shouldn’t even be in the game - Dice made clear when they put the Wildcat in its own category and gave it the 35mm cannon it was an AA weapon designed to counter Helis and Jets. Why leave the 40mm at all? It can’t even beat a CAV which has thicker armour and APS plus heavier hitting gun.
I’m with you on the AA missiles and as I hope I reflected in the video, everything you say is completely valid. There is value in pushing an aircraft out of the zone. There’s value in downing inexperienced pilots (inexperienced doesn’t mean they can’t kill). There’s value in setting up a teammate for success. There’s no wrong answer I just lean to AT so I can survive / help on the ground when the air is quiet. No argument from me at all with anyone who rolls with AA missiles. I only spit my coffee at the 40mm users & campers.

As a side note, don't disregard the gunner stations as well. They can help watch the ground while you're focussed on air.
I love being a gunner (& engineer for repairing) and if the vehicle isn't setup right I can lose interest and bail out.
Things like thermal optics, or the 60mm flak that can be devastating, are always fun and keep me in the seat. Thermal optics also means you can spot mines and it makes infantry easy to spot when hiding.
Don't forget easy to use weapons for novices wanting to give it a go and become better players. i.e things like the kinetic grenade can take a bit of learning to get it right and frustrate people. Anyway, have yourself a great xmas. Look forward to your vids next year mate. :)
I’m all about the 60mm flak to take out Nightbirds that are circling me - and the thermal LMG is essential for cheeky infantry trying it on. I had so much I wanted to say in this vid but it ended up being well over 25 minutes, I don’t think anyone sticks with me for that long! You’re absolutely right though, and I did have a whole section on absolutely destroying infantry but I felt it went against the primary message that the Wildcat is AA… I see so many people using them as baby tanks, and now the air is so bloody dangerous I felt I needed to make this appeal 😅

I never thought about the front facing armour vs just turning the turret. Really good point- merry Xmas to you too 👍
Head to head is simply who can hit the other faster - and if a jet wants to start that fight there’s nothing you can do but play it out. Give yourself every edge you can & make use of the thick armour. Wildcats are very weak from the rear.

Ok so… people aren’t going to agree with this, but I would absolutely run the Flak cannon. Why: Nightbirds. When they get close it can be hard to target them, but one 60mm flak pod to the face and they’re done. I’d also have a regular LMG to look for Mackay / C5 players. I wouldn’t take the grenade launcher, just my take!

Im primarily an infantry player but when a person can use a Wildcat as the intended role its nice to have helicopters and jets warded away.
Unfortunately 90% of people in Wildcats use them for infantrymen to get their K/D ratio up.
Agree - and that’s why I made this vid. It was bad enough but now the Jets are savage too, we need to change this behaviour 😅
Wildcat is AA, your job is to keep the skies safe. I still think Dice should consider adding scoreboard points for downing vehicles. You get more credit for reviving a player than you do shooting down a Night Bird. Could change peoples behaviour if there was more reward in it?
excellent video, as an experienced wild cat user, I recommend using 35 mm. Before, the 30 mm was the best option no doubt, but after the 25 % nerf against attack helicopters is no longer good overall.
Completely agree on the Heli nerf, talked about that on my last Apache vid. Against Helis the 35mm is brutal. Do you ever switch seats to use the 60mm Flak canister? That’s saved me a few times

It is definitely my default loadout on the Wildcat of the Dual 35mm and AT missiles. It took some getting used to the 35mm, but they will melt aircraft and do decent damage to armor. Especially other Wildcats who use the 30mm cannot out damage you before you can with the 35mm.

I'm really surprised that the AT rockets deal so much damage. Never used them. Very nice breakdown, and i hope it shows people that the 40mm is not an option for the wildcat. I don't even know why dice gives us the option at all. If you use it right like you showed us. You just melt everything in the air and get your team one step closer to winning the game. The AT missiles are a really well kept secret, and AA doesn’t really do a lot against a capable pilot other than piss them off / make them withdrawn for 15 seconds. So long as you keep your ground fights fast & don’t go head to head with a Tank you’re good. The 40mm makes no sense at all. None. It should have been removed when Dice rightly gave us the 35mm and put the Wildcat in its own AA category at the start of season 5. I'm new to bf2042. I've played many hours of bf4 and loved the real AA vehicle, LAV and even the attack boat options to kill air. Lock on air sucks. Tow and passive were my go to.

Welcome to the party, I’m the opposite of you in that 2042 is my first BF. TOW is on the Main Battle Tanks and I believe the MAV armoured transport. TOW features far more prominently on the Attack and Stealth Helicopters. A specialist called Lis can carry / fire TV guided missiles which are bloody brilliant. The Wildcats doesn’t have these. The Tanks and MAV also have passive rockets which can become guided if a third player is using a SOFLAM target designator. Hope that helps.

man, i do my best in any vehicle. watching your play, i feel like my luck is always awful as it seems the entire team is switching to something to target and take me out no matter where i run to or try to hide. constant lock ons and constant peeps trying to dive bomb me from anywhere
There can be rounds where the other team is really switched on & going for you. Depending on the vehicle the strategy is different but with the Wildcat the advice I would definitely give is always be moving. It’s fine to stop for a bit, but everyone can see your bullets firing into the sky, and that will attract players. You also have the ‘revenge’ players to deal with, ppl who respawn and then come straight back to get the kill. Don’t stick in one place for too long. On the Battle Tanks / TOR, make sure you have APS equipped. If you take a big hit, pop it and put your foot to the floor. You’ve got about 7 seconds where you cannot be shot to get out of there (you can be locked but the missile if shot will be intercepted). Also, if in a tank try not to stay completely still, rock back and forth. Why? Because acceleration is significantly faster even if you’re only moving just a bit vs a total standstill. Hello, I have a question: what does the cyberwarfare protection system do and why does no one use it?
Hi - the cyber warfare protection system allows you stop a hack (basically defend against Rao). I can’t speak for everyone, but I don’t use it because 1) it’s a very rare occurrence being hacked vs taking damage. You cannot have Cyber Warfare and Repair, so I always take repair; 2) Rao’s hack is now WAY less effective than it was since changes were introduced. It no longer shuts down weapons, movement or mitigations. Frankly it’s worthless; 3) Cyber Warfare is most dangerous against helicopters, as it affects their flight controls. However using Repair removed the status effect of Hack making it even more pointless.
Basically, and this is just my opinion, helicopter (Nightbird) pilots complained that players were getting smart and using Rao Hack more frequently to counter them / force them out of fights. Cyber Warfare suit apparently wasn’t enough for them as they wanted their repair function too. So Dice nerfed the hell out of Rao’s hack to make them (again) happy, because God Forbid we upset a Nightbird Pilot. Now the Cyber Warfare suite is kind of pointless… this is just my personal opinion.
@@timelessgamer_UK I see, I find it disappointing that it only serves to be the last unlockable countermeasure for the vehicle, I think it should be a type of APS but Soft kill, one like the real-life Russian shtora, or leave the nonsense and put the APS Hard Kill available for the Wildcat.
The APS for the Wildcat would be brilliant, it desperately needs it. The Cyber Suite made sense before the Rao nerf. No longer needed.
In BF4 I used the AA missiles exclusively to hit jets that were doing the "mad you're playing AA so they're gonna JDAM you twice at a directly 90 degree angle from above" thing and got too close (even popping APS late to bait them). I don't have BF2042 but I suspect the fact they have to lock on - rather than auto-locking when near - makes that tactic less viable?
I’ve only played 2042 so I’ll have to defer to another to answer this one - what 2042 Jets can do is drop near vertical from above the Wildcat / target and pull out the dive before slamming into the ground. This is very hard though as 1) you’ll be blind for the setting up the dive phase (you’d need exceptional positional awareness to be in the right place); and 2) you have to fire your rockets from far away to get them all out & leave time to pull up.
For sure I’ve met the occasional player that can do this, but I don’t recall personally being taken out on the first run. I had a chance to pop repair and track them to upset a second pass. Hope that helps - give 2042 a shot I really don’t see why people say it’s so bad these days 😂
I'm sad that the jet rocket pods will get nerfed soon... wildcat spawn campers are so annoying. Just trying to have a dogfight with another jet and some wildcat from the opposite side of the map always has to step in lol just so they can end the game going 4-1 with 0 objective caps lol
Well nobody likes a spawn camper or any camper 😅 I’d be in favour of rockets hitting targets in spawn getting a special buff ;)
I can’t sit still in BF I have to always be moving up & down the map. That said I greatly enjoy interrupting fights in my Wildcat, air or ground 😇
Jet and helis are no problem, but how to deal with draugr??
Ah yes the Draugr wasn't out when I made this video -- first, the best way to take down a Draugr is Lis. When they aim through the bomb sight they the pilot is totally blind, wait until they're on their dive and it's a free shot.
With the Wildcat, you can shred a Draugr very easily if they're using Kerosene bombs as they'll want to get close to the target before dropping. JDAMMs are a little harder as they can engage at range & break off before having to commit too heavily.
Bottom line, a Draugr MUST fly straight and level to drop their payload, whatever it is. Keep your eye on it, wait until it starts the approach and don't open fire until it gets relatively close. If you open up at max range, it'll be able to turn away before you can finish it. Let him come in just a little bit ;)

Good advice if you meet MyTH (other than just leave the server), get a CAV with AA Flak Cannon and some engineer friends. Stay quiet & look for them. Also remember they are never, ever alone. It’s always 5-6 against you in Jets and their RAM. Good luck. But really, just leave the server and go play something else (if it’s 128 you meet them in, switch to 64).
As a jet pilot, take this video down. We just now got the ability to reliably beat wildcats in 1v1s. No giving advice!

Facts jets are terrible in 2042 compared to bf4 or 3

I’d say you can’t guarantee it - open up with one TOW and AV rockets (127mm) and see if they react. If they do back off (full reverse) and fight at range. I’d suggest backing off completely and let them forget about you, reset and try again
I legitimately despise the wildcat. Im having a good time in my jet or heli , then i fly over their spawn and there’s always some loser in their spawn with the wildcat, I personally think the should nerf how many missiles that thing can launch because a good majority of the time when i do good in an air vehicle the whole enemy team will swap to FMX-33 missile and lis
Ok so I absolutely do hear you - as I hope you’ve seen on my channel even if just the thumbnails, I love the Attack Heli and Stealth (even before they were buffed). I’m no air vehicle hater, though I do think the Nightbird is OP but that’s another point entirely. I have a theory about what’s going wrong here because I see it too, I’ll try and explain & see what you think.
Dice has buffed the hell out of aircraft, the Jets got their Hydra rocket pods, Attack Helis are raw destruction and NBs continue to be OP. At the same time as this, they have 1) Nerfed the TOR (which is fine); 2) Nerfed Rao’s hack; and 3) increased dramatically the number of aircraft in rounds (some maps more than others). We also have an influx of new players (which is great) who are getting ripped apart from the sky with no idea wtf to do. I’ve also seen clans on my server teaming up with AA to try and protect their vehicles (especially RAM squads). The moment you shoot at them the APS goes up and you’ve got 3 Stingers locking onto you.
What I think is happening is a mass reaction to how powerful the Helis have become. I remember before the buffs being Lis was quite lonely in season 4 and 5. Now I have a lot of help. A good Heli pilot, nevermind 3 and a Jet, can end a round. People are just pushing back. Can I blame them after my Apache just wiped out their Wildcat, MBT and MAV? My theory is Dice have made Aircraft so powerful / accessible (they now even have aim assist) even the most basic / casual of players cannot help but notice them - which put a massive bullseye on their backs & anyone can pick up a Stinger That’s what I think is going on. Action, reaction.
@@timelessgamer_UK yeah I agree with you the helis are incredibly op, i just think its really really easy to counter them with ground ordnance like lis, stingers and wildcats. You could say a skilled pilot would dodge them or whatever but i could say a skilled lis or wildcat player would still hit them and its just redundant. I was definitely a little heated leaving that comment probably just got destroyed by a wildcat, but i still think that wildcats are just lame, like im doing these cool maneuvers dodging missiles mowing down teams on rooftops engaging in air to air fights then a salty player that i killed will counter swap with a wildcat and stingers, so i have to basically hide from them and if i peak them at all im getting locked and shot at, basically making a no fly zone over a giant area and i cant do a thing about it. Its not like i can swap load outs on my heli or jet (doesn’t include apache). Also there is not much cover on these bf 2042 maps
Yeah I mean a salty player that wants your head is tough to deal with, especially if they’re just permanently following you around with a Stinger. Sure they probably won’t kill you but it’s still annoying / forces you to hide. A good heli pilot can only do so much - if it’s wall to wall with stingers, Lissiles and the such you’re either done or pushed out the map. But then, why should the player base have to put up with an AsheBF level NB player decimating them? It’s a tough one. I don’t have an obvious answer. All I know is a good heli pilot or three can end a round, and as long as that level of ability is in the game - we need Lis. If anything I would lose the Stingers.
@@timelessgamer_UK i don’t know. I think the nb needs a nerf and maybe the vehicle system changed. Like maybe you need kills or an objective captured for a vehicle spawn to where if you do really good you can have a vehicle for you and not whoever spam presses the helicopter button faster, or maybe it just speeds up the wait time so someone cant just immediately counter you with AA but you can have a helicopter or jet for you specifically. I dont know, the game cant be fun for everyone all the time

How do u know their aps is up? What to look for?
The green light - APS shines green then it’s up, and red as cool down. If you see no light, it means it’s ready to be used. It looks like an antenna sticking out the top of the vehicle, can’t miss it. Watch my vid here at 03:01, it’ll show you exactly what it looks like:

I won't play the Wildcat for a very simple good reason. The same reason i won't play any other vehicle neither. Which is, just as in every other BF game, the chances of getting a vehicle is freaking slim. Everyone is instalocking them. And i got bored already in BF4 to sit around and wait for one to be available.
I’m sorry to hear that - I have to say I don’t have any problems getting some access to a vehicle in any given round. Sure I don’t get what I want when I want it, but I cant complain. I’m usually on 128 Conquest, what mode do you play?

Usually I play conquest too. If there is a 128 conquest available, then i prefer them too. The more people the better. But maybe that is also the reason. More people, more ppl who want to get a vehicle. But truth to be told, i usually play official game modes and not portal servers.
Oh yeah I’m almost 100% on official not portal. Hmm. Don’t know what to offer on this one… my matches tend to be pretty violent / lots of people getting wasted so no shortage of respawns. Good luck!

You get lockon AND CANT EVEN SEE SHIT BC YOU JUST HAD TO SMOKE YOURSELF as the fker just circles around you and you cant even hit more than half of your slow as 35mm shots oh and now plz wait 10secs bc how dare you to shoot for longer than 7secs

I mean fair - it does overheat easily (especially the 35mm) and if you’re tier 1 there’s probably nothing I can tell you that you don’t already know. The only thing, maybe, is putting 60mm Flak on the third gunner seat. If a NB or Stealth is doing rings around you, they’re close. Switch to the 60mm and one Flak canister in the face - they’re done. They don’t see it coming.
I love playing heli, but also makes me appreciate how lethal they are. Wildcat isn’t perfect but it’s a tool to push back & give needed help. If it’s war, I get Lis (at least until Dice nerf her).

It’s all good - the Wildcats are pretty annoying in the right hands, especially when they’re moving around / getting into the middle of the map. I love BFV dogfights. So satisfying!
