In terms of Quentin Tarantino movies: Best characters: Reservoir Dogs Best action: Kill Bill Best storyline: Inglourious Basterds Best actors: Django Unchained Best dialogue: Pulp Fiction ALL THE WAY!
watching this with headphones is fucking creepy, all I can hear is Nick Mundy's labored breathing in my ear and I could almost feel his breathing on my neck. creepy as fuck, dude eat a salad.
I think Dan really screwed Hal on a couple points there. With the best Chris argument, Hal never said anything about hanging out with Chris Pratt and he was the only one with a valid argument on the talent and skill of his pick while the other two were just concerned with looks and a drinking buddy. On the soundtrack argument, yes Hal may not have been completely knowledgeable on the specific songs in the soundtrack but he seemed like he had the most passion for what was in there. Mike's answer was kind of iffy because while that movie does have narrative, it's basically just a Beatles album and not a real soundtrack. Soundtracks should be made up of a compilation of songs that really compliments the movie.
Ya, he definitely made the wrong choice on the soundtrack argument though. I would've been fine if either Nick or Hal got points on that since they were both compilation soundtracks and they made good points, but Mike didn't deserve that one.
The Rule of Shyamalan is that every film he does is precisely half as good as the one before it. Sixth Sense was phenomenal Unbreakable was great Signs was okay The Village was tolerable Lady in the Water was bad The Happening was awful The Last Airbender was dreadful After Earth was a crime against humanity Gawd help us if he makes another film. 'The Visit' may just destroy us all.
Geahk Burchill only change i would make here is that i personally think Unbreakable was better than Sixth Sense. After you know the ending to Sixth Sense its not nearly as good to watch where in Unbreakable even when you know the ending is still a great watch.
Next movie fight: Who is the Best music movie composer? For example: Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Alan Silvestri, Steve Jablonski, Howard Shore, John Powell, Danny Elfman, Michael Giaccino, etc.
I think the best side kick was an incomplete argument- because no one mentioned the one side kick who's been there throughout the making of a superhero right until the end- Alfred. Alfred helps Bruce out in his toughest situations- when he begins to doubt himself and what Batman stands for. Alfred literally defines what Batman is. There could be a Batman without Robin, but there is no Batman without Alfred. Can any superhero boast of a sidekick they are so dependent upon?
JoeLouis628 No he would not have. Don't you remember in Return of the King when Sam took the ring for a few hours and when Frodo asked for it back he almost did not do it? As in he was already being taken by the ring....AFTER A FEW FUCKING HOURS!!!!
No.he was more reluctant to give the ring back because he could see the horrifying affect it was having on Frodo. You literally misinterpreted that whole scene.
wow you're quick to the insults aren't you. Must be a coping mechanism with having learning disabilities. You've probably misinterpreted many other films aswell. I tell you what if you want I can explain films you've had trouble with if you like? Poor chap. Sam had absolutely no desire for the ring, his love and loyalty was for Frodo alone. So throw more insults, wont make you look any smarter.
My favorite QT movie is probably Reservoir Dogs; that said, I gotta say that QT's most underrated/forgotten/underappreciated film has to be Jackie Brown. There's a lot to like in that movie, and the soundtrack? That's gotta be the best soundtrack QT has assembled aside from Pulp Fiction. BTW, nice Lemongrab shirt, Mike. :-)
These rumors of the Suicide Squad cast are ridiculous. There is NO WAY they will get three A-list actors to play non-leading roles in a DC movie about the B-list villains that nobody has ever heard of outside the sweaty nerds. Will Smith turned down Django Unchained b/c he didn't kill the main villain in the end, and he didn't think he would be the focal point. Do you honestly believe he would play an Australian guy named Captain Boomerang? lol, ffs, in this case I would applaud him for turning this down.
I really don't think Will Smith is right for Captain Boomerang. I like him as an actor, but Captain Boomerang is not a charismatic character and I don't recall Will Smith playing any other character well aside from Will Smith (if there are any I forgot, feel free to correct me). Captain Boomerang in the Suicide Squad is that jerk who always butts heads with the leader. He did this in Assault on Arkham and in that one JLU episode where we got a pseudo-Squad together of Rick Flagg, Deadshot, Plastique, Clock King, and Captain Boomerang. Does THAT sound like Will Smith to you?
I'm really surprised Chris Evans didn't get praise beyond acknowledgement. Forget Captain America and forget the Human Torch: Sunshine, Scott Pilgrim, Puncture and now Snowpiercer. This guy delivers. In Sunshine, he plays a mechanic, almost the lowliest of positions on the Icarus II but he knows his faults and he is willing to amend himself for his team. Snowpiercer is kind of a Cap movie in terms of his role (as a leader of men looked up to) so there's not much to say other than it was a great movie. Puncture is a demonstration that Evans can lead, that everything can revolve around him. The movie is good, not outstanding but he makes the movie. His portrayal of Mike bursts with charisma no matter what tortured existence his character lives.
Florian Narratio Definatly one of the best acting i've seen from him. Christ Evans is the best chris in my opinion. Cuz he delivers and that's something.
32:25 chris evans is by far the best. He is hilarious in not another teen movie, serious in snow piercer, and heroic in captain america. yall are crazy. since hollywood loves remakes right now you should do a fight about which movie should be remade. highlander is at the top of my list.
I think it would've been SO MUCH BETTER if they had made World War Z into a TV show. they changed so much of it from the book and there was so much content in the book that can easily be built off of, like maybe having each incident/story be a season. Not to mention how epic it would be to see some actual celebs playing sleazy versions of themselves for the Celeb House chapter. That movie felt like it had "opportunity wasted" written all over it, but in a way it can be understandable (somewhat) because there were so many stories that would've needed to be covered. Though it probably would've been better if they had just stuck to one of the stories instead of changing almost the entire thing.
I always wanted to see World War Z done as a history channel-style miniseries with historians discussing the events and then reenactments and footage from the events.
BlackTigr, Inc. World War Z should have been a documentary from the way Max Brooks. I did like the movie, only real zombie movie that I could really sit through (sad I know). However, I do like your idea.
Watchmen - best soundtrack. The first three songs over the Comedian's death (Unforgettable), the opening credits (The Times They Are a-Changin), and the Comedian's funeral (The Sound of Silence) are just perfect. And later on you have Ride of the Valkyries, Hallelujah, All Along the Watchtower. Just fucking great. Not a flawless film, but an amazing soundtrack, and it's honest to the comic. Several of the songs are referenced in the comic, and were selected for use in the film based on their appearance in the comic. Easy choice. Also, next week you guys should debate best film SCORE, rather than soundtrack. Perhaps introduce a "no-John-Willams" rule?
This is a hard one for me because I really like the music in Watchmen. Jimi Hendrix's All along the Watchtower (which was originally written by Bob Dylan) is one of my favorite songs for all time. The music and it's placement are taken straight from the comic though, so I don't know if it's fair to other movies that had to come up with their own original soundtracks. Kudos for bring that up though.
I will see u watchmen and raise u the spiderman soundtracks for all three nickelback, taking back Sunday, dashboard confessions, the killers, the yeah yeah yeahs, and many other great bands.
Sam from Lord of the Rings is by far better than the ones they chose. Also Watson, Donkey from Shrek, I mean, even Wilson is a better sidekick than Al Powell!
Yeah I don't scroll too much under videos anymore, the comment section is usually so corrupted.. But nice to see I'm not the only one having problems with ALL these actors and stuff
Wow I loved you as host Dan! Fight suggestion: Best Movie Score. The soundtracks you talked about were ok, but what about the orchestral pieces of John Williams or Danny Elfman? Scores that compliment the movie? I don't know, just a suggestion.
Mike shouldn't have won with his final choice of The Beatles. It's honestly a cop-out answer for anything related to music after the 60's. Everyone wants to say that without the Beatles music would be a whole new thing today, but the Rolling Stones would have still been around, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Bob Dylan, The Mamas and Papas, Van Morrison, all artists who formed within 2 or 3 years of The Beatles, and then nobody ever thinks to remember Mr. Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, or the King himself Elvis Presley. The Beatles weren't needed to form any of these bands, because by the time the bands were officially formed, all of the musicians have been playing their instruments for years and were in previous bands. The Beatles did influence the world for their time, but they are just an overrated boy band now and really aren't that great when you compare them to, as Nick Mundy said, Lynard Skynard or any other countless bands that came out after them.
I WAS with you, right up until ; "but they are just an overrated boy band now and really aren't that great when you compare them to, as Nick Mundy said, Lynard Skynard or any other countless bands that came out after them." Then I thought : Huh, that's a fairly complex troll-job there.
My personal rankings, having seen The Hateful Eight today: 1: Kill Bill 2: Django Unchained 3: The Hateful Eight 4: Inglorious Basterds 5: Pulp Fiction 6: Reservoir Dogs I haven't seen the other 2 yet. Why doesn't Kill Bill get that much love? :(
+Matías Pierdoménico I have seen every Quentin Tarantino movie to date except Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, but in my opinion Deathproof does not count. 1. Pulp Fiction 2. Inglorious Basterds 3. Django Unchained 4. The Hateful Eight 5. Kill Bill 1 and 2 just because Kill Bill is my least favorite does not mean i don't like like it, I just prefer the other films.
+Alejandro Barrera dude if you like a cool Tarantino dialogue, absolutely get Reservoir Dogs and watch it out. It was pretty low budget compared to most of his stuff, very little action, very little effects but oh man, those dialogues, the brilliancy =D My list: 1 Pulp Fiction 2 Kill Bill 3 Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained 5 Reservoir Dogs
These are the reason I come back to UA-cam! Keep fighting, these are the issues that matter to the people. I like how you guys keep coming up with new things to add to your channel and even your movie fights. ScreenJunkie for life!
Best sidekick is R2D2, hands down. He's Luke's action sidekick, he's C-3PO's humor sidekick. He's even frickin Darth Vader's sidekick. He's always there to offer his support, he's the "voice" of conscience and wisdom, and he's always fresh and never boring to watch. Come on, guys. R2D2.
Wow....since when Hal become Nick Mundy....he's really douchi in this one, and in another change of events, Nick has really top his game....he gave really good points to the discussion..
I think that the Duicide Swuad would be a good time to retconn a batman villain we rarely see: Killer Croc. He should be revived as a powerful antihero who goes to far when dealing with evil. I would even suggest Ron Perlman as Croc.
Don't you think that Hans Zimmer become a little bit repetitive recently? I mean listen to the soundtrack from Man of Steel and Batman they are realy similiar in some parts. They are great, but in my opinion far from the best. And no,I'm not arguing with Batman -please don't slay me - I'm just asking a question and sharing my view
Wojtaz Łoles yep... i still like his stuff, but it's kind of hilarious that one of the only of his scores (interstellar) that sounded distinct from his other works of recent years borrowed heavily from phillip glass's "koyaanisqatsi" score ("prophecies" in particular)
what movie could be made into a good cable tv series? Unbreakable. i know, i've already written a 13 episode treatment for it. And no Shyamalan twist endings, thank god.
Dredd...as the franchise won't see any movie sequels a gritty futuristic cop show would rule. Do karl urban a favour and get him off that other cissy robot series. .. Also conan d barbarian ...
i agree dredd could be good. conan's been done before tho, and not well. the problem is that other shows have done the "fantasy epic" well (and a ton that were awful) - but it's been done a lot. dredd has potential, lots of backstory and canon to draw from. good choice
whomee2 Conan the Barbarian is an aweasome movie. The sequel (destroyer) and the remake are bullshit, agrred there. However, there is a wealth of narrative from the Conan novels by R. Howard, not to mention the original storyline penned by Oliver Stone woul provide the Conan myhthos with enough plot, character and history to rival Game of Thrones. The Conan franchise was originally envisioned as a multi sequle franchise, comparible to James Bond, but this plan was wrecked by DeLaurentis. Im for Dredd and I say give Conan one more chance, a ten part mini series could acheive a lot with both entities. I would also love to see a Snake Plissken series, dealing with his back story prior to Escape from New York. Sam Worthington could totally do that part, or maybe even John Rambos vietnam saga????? but who else, after Stallone could take that role?
The best movie soundtrack ever is for Drive. Not because of the quality of the songs, they're generally not even my favorite style of music, but it set the tone for the movie absolutely perfectly. With a different soundtrack the movie would've been absolutely devoid of the style that made it work.
If you're gonna choose the best movie soundtracks, I have two. *This is Spinal Tap* The stars of this movie wrote, recorded, and performed all of the songs and, taking it one step further years later, became an actual band with an album of new, original material (Break Like the Wind) and went on tour. This is Spinal Tap was the mockumentary that spawned a hit album and a band of talented musicians / comedians / writers. *Pink Floyd: The Wall* You loved the visuals and were sucked in by the stark imagery and animation. You left the theater emotionally bereft but that soundtrack..! You bought the album and immersed yourself in the ambiance and orchestration. This is a soundtrack you can choose to take out of context from the movie but are still unable to shake the imagery from your mind. The Wall stands as a masterpiece of modern music!
*****" Excuse me for not knowing the non-main stream title" What has the Swedish (I think) translation of a Tarantino film to do with non-mainstream? You could have taken 5 seconds to look at that list (which consists of exactly 8 films->his entire directorial filmography), look at that weird, non-English title in there (what did you think it was?) and then, yes, used your brain. Not my problem if you don't think for a second before trying to point an apparent omission out which clearly isn't the case.
***** Even though I understand that "en annan svenne" means "another Swede" (I think, correct me if I'm wrong), I'm actually not Swedish. That's why I replied to that guy with "google is your friend" after using it myself. But I do live in a country which Americans often confuse with Sweden for some reason, so I guess it's not too far off, lol.
***** LOL star wars has so much awesome music and its so god i often listen to them without the movie. i can literally list the different awesome pieces of music from the different star wars movies main theme, emperor's march, duel of fates, droid invasion, battle of heroes, battle of endor 1, battle of endor 2, battle of endor 3, across the stars, ceremony music, anakin's theme, immolation scene. and thats just a part of them, john williams really did awesome work on the star wars movie soundtracks
***** well imo im not saying they are bad or anything, but for me personally the words´movie soundtrack is synonomous with star wars. and while i may listen to some of the soundtracks of these two movies. i wouldnt really download their whole soundtrack and listen to them feeling feelings of regret sadness anger, love, joy and intense battle trough these tracks and i could listen to them for hours on end. just personal opinion i love all these soundtracks you mentioned
I disagree. You can very clearly go on Spotify and find the individual songs. That's like saying Live and Let Die isn't a song because it was made for a James Bond movie. Howard Shore transcended movie soundtracks with the LOTR trilogy. He even incorporated Elvish. And don't forget about epic contributions from Billy Boyd, Viggo Mortensen and Sir. James Galway.
I love that we live in a world where I can chose to watch you guys argue over Tarantino movies instead of watching one. That's not even sarcasm, I love it.
There are so few movies where the soundtrack is both integral to the movie itself and simply amazing... it brought an entire genre into the world of popular music... O Brother Where Art Thou? The main theme is actually involved in the story, many of the songs are sung in the action of the movie, and most importantly it's just super good.
+DNAlien The LoTR: Fellowship of the Ring. From Wikipedia: The Fellowship of the Ring won the Academy Award for Best Original Score, the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album, and the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Soundtrack.
What is Hal Rudnick on about... with Jai Courtney, did he ever see his work on Starz Spartacus: Blood and Sand. He was really good in that. He just needs a good film to spring him upward, I certainly think he is better than Sam Worthington (who is alright in mind). Signs is good? - so aliens who are hurt by water, invade a world which is covered in water and also they can't get past wooden doors. Chris Evans is also very funny (is Hal forgetting his performance in FF, he and the Thing were the best things about those two movies).
I think Almost Famous has the best soundtrack. The music of Simon and Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, and Cat Sevens in a single film is overwhelmingly beautiful. Boogie Nights follows in second place, because it defines the setting and moods so well, but Almost Famous just has the most expressive music from the 1960's and 1970's that could be placed in a film with such a powerful story.
I think Tarantino's best is Pulp Fiction, simply because it change the curse of cinema and refresh america filmaking for ever, with cool dialogue and sort of a french touch, Tarantino made an instant classic, for me that's the best. PD: I don't think Death Proof is a bad film, I really liked it, in fact that was the film that put me into Tarantino's filmography.
1. I haven't seen them act so who am I to judge. 2. Sure: There is a great cast and a good director 3. The Big Lebowski: It would be a perfect comedy show, and it would be nice to see The Dude being the dude again 4. Yes: his most recent work (his shittiest) was not entirely his fault. You would be surprised how much the producers fucked with Airbender. Shamalayn is going independent so he can have more artistic vision in his work. 5. Pratt: he is the funniest and most charismatic 6.Pulp Fiction: no question 7.Sam: he is s basically the reason why the entire middle-earth isn't an ork-ridden hellhole. 8. The Graduate: Unlike most soundtracks this actually advances the story and almost works as narraration.
It's hard to say but I would say that THIS host was less objective than the normal host. It's always somewhat subjective because life is subjective but the normal host usually lists very specific reasons for why he assigns points and he always questions people directly to force them to elaborate more in order to flush out their arguments validity or lack there of.
Indeed, I mean with Demolition Man, he just said "I don't like Stalone, so you lose." What the hell kind of arbiter is that? I do think Demo Man would make a good show, be a man out of time scenario. Though you can't really swear on TV so, that would be hard to get by that.
I just imagine it's the same point system from Whose Line is it Anyway. They just don't matter. I do think Andy eggs them on to explain their points better.
TheFasandoval89 I think of it more like Around the Horn if you've seen that. I mean Whose line is arbitrary and really, I think they decide in the beginning who wins. I mean I think I heard once say a billion points to someone...
It was Dan's first go around, he didn't do as well as Andy normally does, but Andy has had several sessions to get in the swing of things. I like Dan hosting and I'm sure if he gets another crack at it he'll do better. Maybe have Andy was one of the panelists so he can see how it feels!
Personally, I think Dan surprisingly did okay. Also, I don't think Andy is a better or worst judge than Dan simply because Andy even though Andy wants people to elaborate - he only asks questions about stuff he disagrees with or when someone says something he deems illogical. In other words, he's gives them a second chance to convince him that they deserve the point whereas Dan gives someone a chance and there's no coming back. And of course Dan can vote with bias but so can (and has) Andy since every question is subjective.
OrangeVision Score and soundtrack are two different things. Scores are composed for movies. Soundtracks are songs, usually pre-existing, implemented into the film. A lot of movies have a score and a soundtrack, like Guardians of the Galaxy, Scott Pilgrim, Watchmen, etc.
It's no brain that Trainspotting should beat Purple Rain and A Hard Day's Night. Every soundtrack was perfect in the movie, not to mention the greatness of some particular songs.
I assumed Pulp Fiction would win, but I was really happy to see some love for Jackie Brown! I personally think Inglourious Basterds is his best. I was also a bit off put when they all seemed to agree that Death Proof sucked. I think Death Proof is an awesome movie. Kurt Russell is terrifying, all the girls are really cool, and Zoe Bell rides the hood of a car for like 15 minutes!
It seems like Dan and Hal mustve been fighting when this was shot, because Hal made two WAAAY more convincing arguments (Best Chris and Best Tarantino) and won neither. Its totally understandable that he got snippy.
It's fun to go back and watch these things now that the actual project is done. Will Smith and Jai Courtney switched places from the rumors, to the betterment of both. Hardy (who I guess would have been Flag) left. Otherwise the rumors were on the spot considering how far out it was.
I think Nick was spot-on with The Joker comment. I would love to see more different DC Villains. The Joker is awesome, but I could wait another few years without him, and another character to replace him, like The Penguin. If Tom Hardy is in SS...then I am in the theater opening night. He is killing it this year with Locke and The Drop; he's been making some awesome movies recently.
These "am I the only one" questions are quite silly really, why not just ask who else considers Reservoir Dogs their favourite film? Unless your question is something like "am I the only one who currently has a pineapple up his ass" there'll always certainly be someone who agrees with you, lol. But seriously, Reservoir Dogs is definitely great even though he borrowed a little too much for that one. It's essentially a remake.
Gentleman the film that should be made a show…Looper, we could have so much fun in that series base it on the emergence of the Rain Maker bring in some telekinesis stuff and the loopers…FUN guys FUN.
Thank you for having Nick Mundy!!! The only Movie Fights I'll watch! Can you please have him do more "How to Fix" segments?? I looooooooooooove those and I laugh my ass off because he is soooooooooo right on!!!
I don't get the hate for Fantastic Four. So some things of the source material get changed up. So, Dr. Doom is not a king of a fake country anymore, big deal. Nowadays you can hurt more people with a computer than with a metal mask and a green cape. Dr. Doom's classic look in a realistic setting would look ridiculous. I'm not saying that I want every superhero movie to be grounded and realistic. I'm saying there's nothing wrong with that. And, it's directed by Josh Trank. Chronicle was great. He was hired to direct a Star Wars spin-off. That's not necessarily an indicative that FF will be good, but it doesn't mean it will be bad. It will most likely be good.
Dr. Doom is an iconic villain, one of the most powerful in the Marvel Universe. I mean, put it to you another way, what if we changed Luthor, Joker, or Loki into a "anti-social programmer", you'd be losing a lot of whom he is.
SonOfAKing If he still walks and talks like the Torch, isn't that's what is more important? I mean if they turned Torch into a glasses wearing, pocket protecting nerd, but kept the guy a white actor, would that really not offend you more than his race?
SonOfAKing But which is more important? Getting the race, or the essence of the character? Honestly, I'd rather have a black Dr. Doom, then him be an "anti-social programmer".
Best movie soundtrack has to be Gravity's soundtrack. Holy shit...that soundtrack gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it.It enhanced the movie's feeling and its nothing I've ever listened to before.Best Tarantino movie though...ah is difficult. He has made so many great movies. But,even if I enjoyed a lot Pulp Fiction and its a classic I think Django Unchained is his best. That was an amazing cinematic experience.
I'd go for Conan The Barbarian staring Arnold. That soundtrack carries that movie. It possesses all of the emotion, moves the story forward, and glues all of it together. It might be the only good part of that movie, but its soo damn good that I actually watched all 2.5 hrs of it because the soundtrack was just so damn epic.
It appears that Hal's getting mad about not getting points while also not getting points because Dan seems to be penalizing him for the overall disrespect of his anger. This subtle but vicious cycle really took this episode away from the usually enjoyable aspects Movie Fights has to offer and made it much more about ego. When you guy aren't mostly getting along and having fun, the people you guy's make these shows for aren't having fun either.
Ryan Cheng You stupid moron. He's talking about the original 'Green Hornet' TV show that came out in the 60's. Do some goddamn research before you open your stupid fucking mouth.
was not a fan of the judging... disagreed with almost all of his picks but everyone has their opinion I suppose, though I feel like he picked too much off his own opinion more so then the arguments
Pirate yeah the chris one was like... wait what? he was saying Hal was talking about who he would rather hang out with when it was the complete opposite, Hal was saying who the best actor was
Dredd television show. Get Karl Urban to reprise his role. FOX canceled Almost Human which was great, and that was essentially PG Dredd. Have Karl Urban going around solving crimes and blowing shit up. Give him a psychic partner like in the film. Put the show on Netflix, so that you can do more involved storylines like those in the comics.
Dr Doom as a blogger could work. Here's how I'd storyboard it: Blogger guy with the handle Doom is a science prodigy who's reckless behaviour, antisocial anxiety, and dangerous projects got him kicked out of the most prominent science programme in the country where his rival, Reed Richards, the Storm siblings(adopted/half siblings/calm down.), and... the Thing attend. So he's blogging away about how he hates the school, Richards, the government, people, etc. and Richards assumes to know who the blogger is, but doesn't know for sure. Maybe little Doom still pretends to be Richards friend, they talk every now and then... who knows. The FF go into space to tap into the unlimited power source that is the background radiation of the universe. Pre-Doom hacks their computers to sabotage the mission (because of rivalry/conspiracy theories/angst) and the FF get their cosmic powers. At the same time, pre-Doom hacks into a military base and starts up a flip ton of human looking drones, and gets into a prototype combat exoskeleton. I just remembered they want to give him electric powers again for some reason, so the cosmic rays could travel through his computer signal and he gets his electricity powers. But that's what could power the suit, maybe the original power source was too big and clunky so the army never had use for the technology, and that's why other's can't just suit up to take him on. He fights the army and his crazy Ironman the suit is holding off most attacks, then the FF show up. The army starts targeting the FF because of their crazy powers, and Doom gets away after taking a liking from the Thing and Human Torch. They start calling him Doom because he said something like "I am your doom." and they can't find his blog's location because he's too smart for that even against a mind like Richard's. Epic end of movie fight reveals they didn't capture the real Doom. He had used a decoy at the last moment and what they thought was Doom is actually one of his Doom-bots. Post-credit scene shows him flying overseas to a country in the midst of civil war... Latveria?
Question: Who is a worse director: Shymalan or Michael Bay? Both have made movies that have made me unwilling to watch their works again but both have made half-okay movies (insert Michael Bay explosion joke here)
Kevin LaSalle M. Night made The Sixth Sense (Classic, Best Picture Oscar Nominee) Unbreakable (Said by many to be the best superhero film ever made, including Quentin Tarantino). There is no debate.
Love the video and movies fights keep making them please!! I look foward to them every sunday!!! You guys should talk about the new Jurassic Park movie coming out in 2015. Excited or not excited? Again love the show, keep up the awesome work!!
Best Chris = Evans. He was good in *Fantastic Four* but he was fantastic as #CaptainAmerica in #FirstAvenger , #TheAvengers and the best #Marvel film so far, #TheWinterSoldier !
I picked him too, but because of his performance in Snowpiercer. There he showed how amazing his dramatic acting can be, he can do stuff far beyond blockbusters.
I loved him in Winter Soldier, haven't seen Snowpiecer yet but I've heard a lot of good things about it. It was tough, but I have to go with Chris Pratt. I only know him from his work in Guardians and Parks and Recs but IMO his acting in Guardians was spot on and Star Lord is the John McClane of superheros. Where John McClane is the every man action star, Star lord is the every man superhero. I will be sure to check out Snowpiercer though, so my final vote is still out until then.
My fave director/writer, in my opinion it goes: 1. Django Unchained 2. Pulp Fiction 3. Kill Bill (both part 1 and 2 are equal and it's basically one film anyway) 4. Reservoir Dogs 5. Inglorious Basterds 6. Jackie Brown 7. Death Proof Also I know they only briefly mentioned it but Rocky IV is arguably one of the worst movies ever made. I'm guessing Americans love it because it's the most pro American fuck you Russia film out there.
the best quentin movie is Jackie Brown, hands down. it may not be his most popular or well known film, but it is obviously the best production that quentin has ever done. everything from the story, the characters, the soundtrack, the acting, the sets, pretty much everything about the movie is very well put together.
My list 1.Pulp Fiction 2.Django Unchained 3.Inglorious Basterds 4.Reservoir Dogs 5.Kill Bill 6.Jackie Brown 7.Death Proof Note: I liked all of them but some are just better then others
Actually an interesting debate, Jackie Brown is a Tarantino movie that definitely got the character build up right. First half of the movie was just you hanging you with the characters and getting to know them better. A lot of times characters in a Tarantino movie sound a lot like him, he gets it right in the casting but a lot of times all the characters use the same words, not the case in Jackie Brown (probably because it was an adaptation), and that is pretty much it. Pulp Fiction is an anthology movie made by one director done right, really great movie, cult classic, redefining movie that changed the industry and was copied over the years so many times. But I'm gonna have to go with Kill Bill as the best Tarantino flick. While Jackie Brown got it's characters right, and Pulp Fiction is pretty much "The Black Sabbath" for crime genre (and stories are connected, not separate), but Kill Bill is a new way of looking at movie. That is a movie about movies, in broad strokes it's a revenge movie but it's a movie that has all kinds of movies within the movies and it samples from all over the place. Also, Kill Bill has a much better color palate, Tarantino is at the top of his game and his placement of the camera was perfect, utilizing visual language to tell the story. While in Pulp Fiction used story structure as a anthology story and all the stories just happen to be connected, in Kill Bill Tarantino perfected it and it was used like in a novel for the purpose of suspense build up. It would be a had job to find all the references and homages in Kill Bill, I can't begin to imagine how hard it would be to utilize them all into a story and make it flow like it does in the end product because it's not calling attention to it self (that much). Action scenes were done really pro and legit like few movies are these days.
No chance for fantastic four? Josh trank directed chronicle which was amazing and he's been signed on for a spin off Star Wars movie which means he's only doing good things at fox And the writer of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is writing fantastic four!!!! How is it gonna be bad???
Okay. What about the dark knight. The joker is supposed to be created by falling into chemicals. In the movie he's a criminal that wears war paint and that's the greatest comic book movie ever! My point has been made. No matter how much you change there's always a chance
I'm not trying to say that there's no chance, but that's one insignificant change. They've changed the Human Torch's ethnicity, the king of a country to an anti-social blogger, and it has almost no correlation to the comics except for the names.
This is a wierd answer but it's gonna be way too grounded and too dark and because of that its gonna be stupid and embarrassing but that's just my opinion
Jake Majka I hate when people bring up the Dark Knight because it shows just how out of touch they are with this argument. For one thing, do we actual know for sure how the Joker in the Nolan movies became the Joker? All he runs around saying is, "You wanna know how I got these scars?" He gives like ten answers to that question! For all we know, he did fall into a Vat! Second, regardless of his origin, we still got a Joker that looks and feels like the real Joker. What if instead the Joker was turned into an "anti-social programmer"? Congrats, you just turned him into an internet troll.
They also needed to define SOUNDTRACK ... there are soundtracks with pop music, those with SCORES, and those with a mix of two. I thought (and hope) they were talking about ones made up entirely of pop music, like those discussed. Otherwise, there are a ton of scored soundtracks that crush anything I've seen mentioned.
Best sidekick is Chewbacca.. You didn't even mention Han and Chewie - come on! The greatest soundtrack... Pffff... Pulp Fiction or ... I dunno, I'm more into scores.. Top Gun..?
It had some great songs apart from Danger Zone (although that is the main song on the soundtrack). Mighty Wings by Cheap Trick, Playing With the Boys by Kenny Loggins, the Top Gun Anthem, Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay by Otis Redding... and those are just off the top of my head! It was a great soundtrack even apart from Danger Zone.
I think Groot is similar to Chewbacca in terms their role as a sidekick. One thing that makes them different is the physical juxtaposition between Groot and Rocket. Han and Chewbacca are probably both pretty strong and could beat someone up in a fistfight. Rocket and Groot are both strong in combat but in different and sometimes complimentary ways. And they're often both reliant on the other while still being able to say that Groot is the sidekick between the two. You can't even say Han acts as the voice for Chewbacca, with all the trouble he talks himself into and awkward talk with Leia. Chewbacca doesn't complete Han in the way that Groot completes Rocket.
ElectroLlama Sorry for the wait - life you know. You make a good argument! And yes, the way Groot and Rocket make up for each others physical limitations is more drawn than Han and Chewie's.. But you can't ignore the iconografy that surrounds Han and Chewie.. All the things that makes Groot and Rocket so cool, is also recognisable in Han and Chewie.. Chewie is the muscle and Han does speak for Chewie "Better not upset a wookie.. " etc. ... My gripe here was that Han and Chewie wasn't mentioned... And that ain't right!
All of their movie to TV ideas were pretty bad. None of those are possible or even good ideas. Something like Men in Black would work as a TV show. Have it centered around two other agents and have it as a cop procedural but with aliens.
Problem here: No-one on this panel understands what the hell the suicide squad is about. Their throwing names like Lex Luthor and Joker around when that would basicly fly in the face of what the Suicide Squad is... At least google something before you talk about it. Or watch an episode of Arrow or even the animated Suicide Squad film (its not perfect but DC animation is the only part of Warner Brothers/DC actually giving us the goods rather than just talk and rumours). Heres why you can't have any of the 'A listers' (except the riddler) in this film. The suicide Squad is a group of CAPTURED super villians who would all be facing execution if not for the fact that the US Government/Military has a use for them. The Justice League would never work for anyone or carry out assasinations etc. in fact the government cant trust the heroes. Task Force X nicknamed the suicide squad because they are villians who can be manipulated into using their skills as criminals and murderers to do black ops missions and in exchange they get life sentances and privalages instead of the death sentance... So Lex Luthor or the Joker would never be involved unless they were 'villians for the villians' because Lex is too legit to end up in that situation and the joker is an agent of chaos and NO ONE would be dumb enough to let him out in public let alone on a mission of national security. The only reason Harley is on the team is because she's an overrated fan favourite. Basicly DC's Deadpool. Most suicide squad characters arent exactly B or C list characters but cant be A listers just because they need a team dynamic. Plus to these guys the deffinition of A-list is 'Batman villian' where as the suicide squad gets recruited from across the DC universe. Most of them arent even super powered (because those are harder to predict/control). The Riddler has been involved in the team and was in the animated film which will probably be a big inspiration on any live action film. Deadshot and Boomarang are the most long standing members. The Joker would only be in it because they'll deffinatly want Harley and so the best option is make him the central antagonist... But that'll just turn it into Harley betraying the team for him which is predictable. Its a difficult choice as to who to put in but remember... Guardians proved you don't need A-listers if you have a good movie.
Movie with the greatest soundtrack: Goodfellas Not only do the songs compliment what is going on with the story, but Scorsese hand-picked each one of them based on the time period this story takes place at. Scorcese has always had a talent for picking great music to go with his films, and Goodfellas has one of the most grooving and well chosen soundtracks for any modern movie. The songs reflect the recklessness of the time and the characters in it.
Guardians has been out for several months now. If you haven't seen it, that's your loss and most people have already seen it, so of course its ending will be talked about
Haley Whitney guardians does not come out till december 9 actually, not everyone goes to see movies in theaters, be considerate of others even if you have seen it
Zain Peterson and? and its really inconsiderate for people that haven't seen it to not say spoiler alert, why don't you go take a common decency class, and by the way i already did see it
Django Unchained is my favorite Quentin Tarantino film. It made me LOVE the characters i was supposed to, and HATE the ones i was supposed to more than any other tarantino movie.
The Best soundtrack of any movie .. The Highlander, Queen rules and these are some of their best. Grossly underrated and fantastic. And seriously, how often is a soundtrack for a major movie done by one group.
In terms of Quentin Tarantino movies:
Best characters: Reservoir Dogs
Best action: Kill Bill
Best storyline: Inglourious Basterds
Best actors: Django Unchained
Best dialogue: Pulp Fiction ALL THE WAY!
Nice
He is the king of dialogue
Spawn the Time Lord Terminator Basterds has a horrible storyline, are you fucking high?
Michael Colby I keep seeing you in these comments sections. You're always very mean to the people you talk to
Aidan O'Meara I don't agree, I just like to mess around and be hyperbolic. I can understand why overly sensitive people would think that though
watching this with headphones is fucking creepy, all I can hear is Nick Mundy's labored breathing in my ear and I could almost feel his breathing on my neck.
creepy as fuck, dude eat a salad.
Lmao I feel you heavy ass breathing I thought there was somebody in my room
I have the weirdest boner right now ROFL!
+the emptyset lol i was thinking the same thing
ayy lmao
Thank you*** completely agree ;)
yeah hal should have won
Ya, he definitely made the wrong choice on the soundtrack argument though. I would've been fine if either Nick or Hal got points on that since they were both compilation soundtracks and they made good points, but Mike didn't deserve that one.
Yeah man, great arguments, stabilishing exactly what i saw there, that was hal winning
Hal seems to always get gypped. Probably one of the best/ funniest arguers on the show.
The birth of #Botanicus
The Rule of Shyamalan is that every film he does is precisely half as good as the one before it.
Sixth Sense was phenomenal
Unbreakable was great
Signs was okay
The Village was tolerable
Lady in the Water was bad
The Happening was awful
The Last Airbender was dreadful
After Earth was a crime against humanity
Gawd help us if he makes another film. 'The Visit' may just destroy us all.
A personification of diminishing returns?
Maybe the opposite; the dehumanization. A talented director who more and more became a cartoon.
Geahk Burchill your list from best to worst with his movies is exacly how I would list them as well. I didn't dislike the village
I have to admit, I didn't entirely dislike 'Lady in the Water'. I still don't think it was a good movie. But I kinda like it.
Clint Mansell
flopperdilly9 Beat me to it.
Jonathan Dunn It's ok. it's good to know that someone else noticed.
***** He forgot the best ones. No Morricone or Herrmann either. Doesn't really get more iconic than those three.
Joe Hisaishi--composed scores for all of Hayao Miyazaki's films.
Best sidekick of all time is Samwise Gamgee, no questions.
I would disagree for sauron but ok
should have just given the ring to samwise in the first place, would have cracked it out in under a week.
On round 3, when Hal said Inception, I screamed "YES"!!!!!
The Joker a b list villain only nerds know.
lol truest response unfortunately
People said the same about Guardians of the Galaxy
Says casting a-list actors for b-list characters
guardians of the galaxy
I will never forget Evan´s Cannibalism-Monologue from Snowpiercer.Talk about disturbing/amazing script and acting.
Florian Narratio Definatly one of the best acting i've seen from him. Christ Evans is the best chris in my opinion. Cuz he delivers and that's something.
32:25
chris evans is by far the best.
^This
Great idea.
However, I do like your idea.
maybe like a series of documentaries cuz that's a lot of content
Ahh, actually Hal, the whole "cool soundtrack" thing started with Reservoir Dogs...
locutus94 Diminishes his argument though, even if he is factually incorrect...
Hal and Nick on the same show? Dream come true!
they've been together so many times...
On Movie Fights?
yup
Brian DiCaprio I don't think so... which one?
Leajiaure First ones.
Not just great soundtrack but excellent placement of music in the movie itself
I highly agree sir, excluding Desolation Row covered by My chemical Romance.
I subscribe... That soundtrack was absolutely perfect for the tone of the movie, hell those are some of the best tunes on their own merit.
Who else is a huge Reservoir Dogs fan like me
Allan McBean Me
Allan McBean everybody has except Hong Kong people who knew that their movie was ripped off.
Me. Watch it for the first time 3 days ago. One of my favorite
Seriously guys a goal in my life is to be on Movie Fights battling with you! These are so awesome!
Sam from Lord of the Rings is by far better than the ones they chose. Also Watson, Donkey from Shrek, I mean, even Wilson is a better sidekick than Al Powell!
Thanks for respecting my little request for more pictures of actors, movies and characters.
I made that request before both you guys.
Yeah I don't scroll too much under videos anymore, the comment section is usually so corrupted.. But nice to see I'm not the only one having problems with ALL these actors and stuff
Ricky Mckinnon
And it really doesn't matter.
egalomon Corrupted Especially for AMC movie talk boards.
Wow I loved you as host Dan!
Fight suggestion: Best Movie Score. The soundtracks you talked about were ok, but what about the orchestral pieces of John Williams or Danny Elfman? Scores that compliment the movie? I don't know, just a suggestion.
I agree
LOTR!
HOWARD SHORE
NDfor SPDadsdas they did do soundtracks but this guy suggested for the next movie fight they debate about movie scores instead
Hans Zimmer
TheBlond49 pre-Inception Hans Zimmer
Anyways, I want this fight as well! And if James Newton Howard doesn't get a nod I will cry
You have absolutely no knowledge on music or music theory
Nicholasryan17 No he is dead on
Nicholasryan17 no, actually i think he is proving in that comment that he definitely does in fact have plenty of knowledge of music
Nicholasryan17 your just a fan of and over rated band who likes to think that what you like changed every thing
I WAS with you, right up until ; "but they are just an overrated boy band now and really aren't that great when you compare them to, as Nick Mundy said, Lynard Skynard or any other countless bands that came out after them."
Then I thought : Huh, that's a fairly complex troll-job there.
My personal rankings, having seen The Hateful Eight today:
1: Kill Bill
2: Django Unchained
3: The Hateful Eight
4: Inglorious Basterds
5: Pulp Fiction
6: Reservoir Dogs
I haven't seen the other 2 yet.
Why doesn't Kill Bill get that much love? :(
shane55pwnt What is it that you didn't like about django?
shane55pwnt Great. You should watch Kill Bill, man. It's the best one ;)
+Matías Pierdoménico I have seen every Quentin Tarantino movie to date except Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, but in my opinion Deathproof does not count.
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglorious Basterds
3. Django Unchained
4. The Hateful Eight
5. Kill Bill 1 and 2
just because Kill Bill is my least favorite does not mean i don't like like it, I just prefer the other films.
+Alejandro Barrera dude if you like a cool Tarantino dialogue, absolutely get Reservoir Dogs and watch it out. It was pretty low budget compared to most of his stuff, very little action, very little effects but oh man, those dialogues, the brilliancy =D
My list:
1 Pulp Fiction
2 Kill Bill
3 Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained
5 Reservoir Dogs
These are the reason I come back to UA-cam! Keep fighting, these are the issues that matter to the people. I like how you guys keep coming up with new things to add to your channel and even your movie fights. ScreenJunkie for life!
When will CinemasinsJeremy be on the podcast. Would love to hear him fight..
I was going with Han Solo, but you take that.
Can a character really be a sidekick to more than one character? I would call R2D2 an excellent supporting character. The best? Maybe.
Wow....since when Hal become Nick Mundy....he's really douchi in this one, and in another change of events, Nick has really top his game....he gave really good points to the discussion..
Completely agree. Mundy was mostly very calm and made some surprisingly great arguments. Keep it up, Nick.
I think that the Duicide Swuad would be a good time to retconn a batman villain we rarely see:
Killer Croc.
He should be revived as a powerful antihero who goes to far when dealing with evil. I would even suggest Ron Perlman as Croc.
Thank you for picking Jackie Brown! The best of Tarantino's work. Great discussion.
I am VERY SURPRISED that nobody thought about Samwise Gamgee as the best movie sidekick, or the Lotr soundtrack!!!
Frodo was the sidekick. Frodo sucked compared to Sam. Sam took the lead. I always fail to see Sam as the sidekick. He's the true hero.
That's a score, rather than a soundtrack
Best soundtrack ever is The Dark Knight by Hans Zimmer. Because I'm Batman.
Dark knight rises was cool as well
Soundtrack = Collection of songs
Score = Orchestration by composer
No Interstellar by Hans Zimmer
Do karl urban a favour and get him off that other cissy robot series. ..
Also conan d barbarian ...
i agree dredd could be good. conan's been done before tho, and not well. the problem is that other shows have done the "fantasy epic" well (and a ton that were awful) - but it's been done a lot. dredd has potential, lots of backstory and canon to draw from. good choice
whomee2
Conan the Barbarian is an aweasome movie.
Sam Worthington could totally do that part, or maybe even John Rambos vietnam saga????? but who else, after Stallone could take that role?
david kiernan Have you seen Adi Shankar's Dredd miniseries with Judge Death? Good stuff
*This is Spinal Tap*
The stars of this movie wrote, recorded, and performed all of the songs and, taking it one step further years later, became an actual band with an album of new, original material (Break Like the Wind) and went on tour.
This is Spinal Tap was the mockumentary that spawned a hit album and a band of talented musicians / comedians / writers.
*Pink Floyd: The Wall*
You loved the visuals and were sucked in by the stark imagery and animation.
My Top 8 Quentin Tarantino movies:
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglourious Basterds
3. Django Unchained
4. Reservoir Dogs
5. Kill Bill - Vol. 1
6. Kill Bill - Vol. 2
7. Jackie Brown
8. Death Proof
No Reservoir Dogs in there?
***** De hänsynslösa is Reservoir Dogs. Google is your friend (and using your brain would help too).
Tom Waits Excuse me for not knowing the non-main stream title. Good thing you were so nice about it too :>
*****" Excuse me for not knowing the non-main stream title"
What has the Swedish (I think) translation of a Tarantino film to do with non-mainstream? You could have taken 5 seconds to look at that list (which consists of exactly 8 films->his entire directorial filmography), look at that weird, non-English title in there (what did you think it was?) and then, yes, used your brain. Not my problem if you don't think for a second before trying to point an apparent omission out which clearly isn't the case.
***** Even though I understand that "en annan svenne" means "another Swede" (I think, correct me if I'm wrong), I'm actually not Swedish. That's why I replied to that guy with "google is your friend" after using it myself. But I do live in a country which Americans often confuse with Sweden for some reason, so I guess it's not too far off, lol.
talking about the best movie soundtracks of all time and no mention of star wars SHAMEFUL DISPRAY!!!!!!
***** well imo im not saying they are bad or anything, but for me personally the words´movie soundtrack is synonomous with star wars. and while i may listen to some of the soundtracks of these two movies. i wouldnt really download their whole soundtrack and listen to them feeling feelings of regret sadness anger, love, joy and intense battle trough these tracks and i could listen to them for hours on end. just personal opinion i love all these soundtracks you mentioned
svfin I think you're saying soundtrack when you're more meaning film score
Most people don't pay attention to the sound track of Star Wars because Star Wars is more known for the special effects. That's probably why.
***** Exactly.
best sound track ever: LOTR. the music was the on point for every scene which makes the franchise so good.
That's a score rather than a soundtrack, it doesn't have real songs in it.
Forest Gump soundtrack!
anastasia = #1
I love that we live in a world where I can chose to watch you guys argue over Tarantino movies instead of watching one. That's not even sarcasm, I love it.
I love you, Tarantino.
Cevahir Ileri did you google Tarantino and watched and commented every single video??????? I keep seeing you and THAT SAME COMMENT
So last I checked, these are REAL movies. They maybe are based on fake events, but the movies are REAL none the less. New slogan time.
I don't really get what you're saying. If that's your definition of a real movie then what's a fake movie?
Only pointed out a problem with the slogan, "Real nerds get into real fights over fake movies." The movies are real, maybe only based on fake events.
The hell are you on about?
they should talk about fake movies
Philip Baker
Ahh I gotcha. I agree!
There are so few movies where the soundtrack is both integral to the movie itself and simply amazing... it brought an entire genre into the world of popular music... O Brother Where Art Thou? The main theme is actually involved in the story, many of the songs are sung in the action of the movie, and most importantly it's just super good.
DNAlien director?
gunclerk18 The Coen brothers.
+DNAlien
The LoTR: Fellowship of the Ring. From Wikipedia:
The Fellowship of the Ring won the Academy Award for Best Original Score, the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack Album, and the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Soundtrack.
+Gavin Petrie Oh, good call! I love both the movie and the soundtrack. It's so epic and beautiful!
Hermaeus Mora Yeah, I forgot about that. I don't think we should count him out yet.
It's called opinions. Learn to deal with them.
Yeah people never remember Jai in Spartacus and he was really good in that
I think Almost Famous has the best soundtrack.
Is a good film, but not as good as Django, Inglorious Basterds and not even close to a masterpiece like Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction.
Rafael Cabral Williams Yes I totally agree. It definitely changed the curse of cinemas. Flawless execution of your sentence by the way. ;D
1. I haven't seen them act so who am I to judge.
2. Sure: There is a great cast and a good director
3. The Big Lebowski: It would be a perfect comedy show, and it would be nice to see The Dude being the dude again
4. Yes: his most recent work (his shittiest) was not entirely his fault. You would be surprised how much the producers fucked with Airbender. Shamalayn is going independent so he can have more artistic vision in his work.
5. Pratt: he is the funniest and most charismatic
6.Pulp Fiction: no question
7.Sam: he is s basically the reason why the entire middle-earth isn't an ork-ridden hellhole.
8. The Graduate: Unlike most soundtracks this actually advances the story and almost works as narraration.
You must have been disappointed last week with Fant4Stic
Aidan O'Meara Yep
So nobody nominated an actual composed movie soundtrack instead of these pop song mixtapes?
Ok.
IKR, Tenacious D, Scott Pilgrim vs the world or something themed like Star Wars or James Bond... This topic needs to be reissued!!
***** Score is a soundtrack.
I'm incredibly surprised that anyone can call Jackie Brown the best Tarantino movie.
It seems like Dan and Hal mustve been fighting when this was shot, because Hal made two WAAAY more convincing arguments (Best Chris and Best Tarantino) and won neither. Its totally understandable that he got snippy.
BEST Of QUENTIN TARANTINO MOVIE FIGHTS
yeah nice nice !!!
Great Action Movie Here!! Big Thumbs Up!! :)
It's fun to go back and watch these things now that the actual project is done. Will Smith and Jai Courtney switched places from the rumors, to the betterment of both. Hardy (who I guess would have been Flag) left. Otherwise the rumors were on the spot considering how far out it was.
Just non stop laughter wenever hal and nick are on the same episode neeed moreee!
definitely train-spotting for the last one.
Lion King
Tom Holloway thank you!!!!!
I would pick 8 Mile soundtrack
lion king is a musical not a soundtrack
The only reason anyone wants to see a continuation of Demolition Man is because we HAVE to know what the seashells mean.
but we do know how to use them, google it.
No I want to see how you use the seashells.
jdlaw001
www.thejay.com/wp-content/3seashells.jpg
I always imagined it was called "3-C shells"
How come no one mentioned Lord of the Rings when it came to best movie soundtracks?
"We have an embarassment of riches when it comes to Chris'. It's CHRIS....mas."
Hal, you're amazing lol
I think Nick was spot-on with The Joker comment. I would love to see more different DC Villains. The Joker is awesome, but I could wait another few years without him, and another character to replace him, like The Penguin. If Tom Hardy is in SS...then I am in the theater opening night. He is killing it this year with Locke and The Drop; he's been making some awesome movies recently.
Am I the only one who's favourite Tarantino movie is Reservoir Dogs :) ?
Nope, that's my favorite film actually. But I'm not sure if it's objectively his best.
Yeah
Tom Waits Even the pineapple up the ass comment will likely have someone who agrees
This is the internet
***** Yeah and you're missing the point.
Gentleman the film that should be made a show…Looper, we could have so much fun in that series base it on the emergence of the Rain Maker bring in some telekinesis stuff and the loopers…FUN guys FUN.
this.
Star Wars nerds? I think not! :) R2-D2 is CLEARLY the greatest sidekick ever!
+Logan Ferguson I was thinking about Chewie
My top two are Lucius Fox and Denis The Dog
I'm so glad somebody mentioned Jackie Brown, so underrated
I agree I think they were kind of dicks by calling a movie they havent even seen yet irideemable shit
Dr. Doom is an iconic villain, one of the most powerful in the Marvel Universe. I mean, put it to you another way, what if we changed Luthor, Joker, or Loki into a "anti-social programmer", you'd be losing a lot of whom he is.
Matt Smith en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latveria
not Latvia.
I work out to requiem for a dream's soundtrack and I work to it and I fall asleep to it. It cannot be beaten
Well, I was disappointed not to hear "The Fountain" soundtrack as the best one... It really doesn't get any better than that.. ;)
Gravity had a great score. Soundtrack is different
Do an honest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, dafuq are you waiting for?!
Once it's released they will be able to make one.
TheSpenny9
It is... 2 or 3 days already.
Once it's released on DVD etc.
I so agree.
TheSpenny9
yes, it was released..
Thank you, guys. Great time watching it. Keep rocking.
Best sidekick in history is Kato from the Green Hornet. He's Bruce Lee dammit!
He is not Bruce Lee....
Ryan Cheng Yes, he was played by Bruce Lee...
Bruce Lee died in 1973, search him in wiki.
+Ryan Cheng and the green hornet ran before 1973...
Ryan Cheng
You stupid moron. He's talking about the original 'Green Hornet' TV show that came out in the 60's. Do some goddamn research before you open your stupid fucking mouth.
was not a fan of the judging... disagreed with almost all of his picks
but everyone has their opinion I suppose, though I feel like he picked too much off his own opinion more so then the arguments
Especially when he apparently had no idea what hal's argument was on the best Chris one.
This. 1000x This.
Dr Doom as a blogger could work.
Here's how I'd storyboard it:
Blogger guy with the handle Doom is a science prodigy who's reckless behaviour, antisocial anxiety, and dangerous projects got him kicked out of the most prominent science programme in the country where his rival, Reed Richards, the Storm siblings(adopted/half siblings/calm down.), and... the Thing attend.
Latveria?
The way Hal takes a deep breath while starting every sentence irritates me beyond beleif
Dan is such a better judge than Andy...
Mike Carlson ur the Best #botanicus
Question:
Who is a worse director: Shymalan or Michael Bay? Both have made movies that have made me unwilling to watch their works again but both have made half-okay movies (insert Michael Bay explosion joke here)
M night Shyamalan made two good films in The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. With The Sixth sense alone M Night is far better than Bay.
Kevin LaSalle M. Night made The Sixth Sense (Classic, Best Picture Oscar Nominee) Unbreakable (Said by many to be the best superhero film ever made, including Quentin Tarantino). There is no debate.
FunWithGuru Unbreakable is considered the greatest superhero "desconstruction" ever made, sorry to correct you. But yes, Shymalan is better.
What about Uwe Boll?
I do not recall Uwe Boll having ever made a good movie, sorry.
Love the video and movies fights keep making them please!! I look foward to them every sunday!!! You guys should talk about the new Jurassic Park movie coming out in 2015. Excited or not excited? Again love the show, keep up the awesome work!!
LOVE the show guys. Keep it up. I hope you keep your word and do Groot vs. Chewbacca next week.
He was awesome in Snowpiercer and Sunshine and even Not Another Teen Movie was a good performance.
***** The question was asking about best Chris: Evans, Hemsworth, Pine & Pratt.
My fave director/writer, in my opinion it goes:
1. Django Unchained
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Kill Bill (both part 1 and 2 are equal and it's basically one film anyway)
4. Reservoir Dogs
5. Inglorious Basterds
6. Jackie Brown
7. Death Proof
Also I know they only briefly mentioned it but Rocky IV is arguably one of the worst movies ever made. I'm guessing Americans love it because it's the most pro American fuck you Russia film out there.
Rocky IV is ok. Rocky V is utter shit.
the best quentin movie is Jackie Brown, hands down. it may not be his most popular or well known film, but it is obviously the best production that quentin has ever done. everything from the story, the characters, the soundtrack, the acting, the sets, pretty much everything about the movie is very well put together.
My list
1.Pulp Fiction
2.Django Unchained
3.Inglorious Basterds
4.Reservoir Dogs
5.Kill Bill
6.Jackie Brown
7.Death Proof
Note: I liked all of them but some are just better then others
McMagic15 Not a fan of Jackie Brown or Death Proof but the others are masterpieces.
Reservoir Dogs has gotta be number one for me.
Margot Robbie best casting in dc universe?!?! What about Heath Ledger?
what about George Clooney?
any other people from the UK so very confused by them talking about 'Chris Evans' like this handsome guy.....?
Josh trank directed chronicle which was amazing and he's been signed on for a spin off Star Wars movie which means he's only doing good things at fox
And the writer of DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is writing fantastic four!!!! How is it gonna be bad???
I agree. Mostly. It might very well be a good movie, but it won't be a Fantastic Four movie. They have just changed too much.
I completely agree! Feel like all the great movie scores were left outta this...
i agree also, i loved the raids score
Exactly! I personally loved Inception's soundtrack by Hans Zimmer.
Afc230 Oh yeah, in my top-ten easily.
Afc230 Almost all of my top ten would be Hans Zimmer or John Williams.
Best sidekick is Chewbacca.. You didn't even mention Han and Chewie - come on!
The greatest soundtrack... Pffff... Pulp Fiction or ... I dunno, I'm more into scores.. Top Gun..?
Top Gun was my pick, hands down.
cuzthechicksdigit they played it 3 fucking times in that movie...i mean come on that's not a soundtrack that's one song
Never thought of Al Powell as a sidekick until now.. great argument Mundy!
the discussions on tv show from movie was hilarious! great job guys
All of their movie to TV ideas were pretty bad. None of those are possible or even good ideas. Something like Men in Black would work as a TV show. Have it centered around two other agents and have it as a cop procedural but with aliens.
they had a men in black cartoon show that was pretty good.
PaddyCollector Yeah I remember that. I was pretty good.
no school of rock for best soundtrack? damn
+nick najarian Are you stupid?
no. its a great soundtack
Movie with the greatest soundtrack: Goodfellas
Not only do the songs compliment what is going on with the story, but Scorsese hand-picked each one of them based on the time period this story takes place at. Scorcese has always had a talent for picking great music to go with his films, and Goodfellas has one of the most grooving and well chosen soundtracks for any modern movie. The songs reflect the recklessness of the time and the characters in it.
Josh u
Honestly just thinking about inception as a tv show gave me goosebumps. Cool idea.
Am I the only one who always found Nick Mundy INSANELY annoying?
I am totally with Nick on the M night shyamalan thing - he was good for one movie, signs was a stupid and horribly written movie with an idiotic twist
Unbreakable was good too.
This host was bad, he picked winners based on his own opinions, also you shouldn't have spoiled guardians for people that haven't seen it
Guardians has been out for several months now. If you haven't seen it, that's your loss and most people have already seen it, so of course its ending will be talked about
Haley Whitney
guardians does not come out till december 9 actually, not everyone goes to see movies in theaters, be considerate of others even if you have seen it
Aaron Treno ok and? you should have gone to the theaters if you cared that much.
Zain Peterson and? and its really inconsiderate for people that haven't seen it to not say spoiler alert, why don't you go take a common decency class, and by the way i already did see it
Aaron Treno ok if you dont want spoilers for a movie, then you should see the fucking movie. Its called not being a jackass.
