Essentially the same shoes with a different material used. The Rideknit will flow some air to keep you feet cool similar to a perforated version of the shoe. - Van

Any opinion on the off the bike comfort of these vs SMX1R style short boots? I've heard the SMX actually feel more comfortable

The SMX1R are a little more technical and will offer more protection. In terms of comfort I would say they will be pretty close with the Faster being a touch more comfortable. The trade off would be a little less protection. - Van
