When you had said most people refer to the birds they feed as "my birds", I got a good giggle because that's exactly how I refer to them.. Even the 9-10 squirrels I feed every morning are "my squirrels".
I want to attract more birds to my garden, I have succeeded recently with attracting our local lot, we have a couple of wood pigeons and feral ones, blue tits, coal tit, sparrow, blackbird, crow, magpie, starlings, etc. But I want to see more of the different species, I would like colour and action in my back garden. So Im looking for ideas.
The best places for ideas are the #AskBillOddie UA-cam sessions at ua-cam.com/users/BillOddiesBirdFood - we'd encourage you to look at the back catalogue as there are lots of "How to" videos, such as: How long does it take birds to come to a new bird feeder? #AskBillOddie. The other place is www.billoddiesbirdfood.co.uk/ - subscribe for free online and we'll keep you up to date with Bill's insights and tips...
Bill I've seen so many people making their own suet & seed balls for birds. Many add peanut butter, but peanut butter is packed with salt. Could this be bad for small birds??
You're correct - peanut butter isn't advisable for birds unless it's one that's salt-free. Have a Merry Christmas! Haith's and Bill Oddie's bird food recipes.
