Lard is fat from a pig / Suet, made from the fat around animal organs this is a great idea and I don't want backlash for my comment BUT I think Coconut Oil or Copha for Australia is a coconut based vegetable shortening would be a much better idea and would be better for the birds and like I stated this is a great idea well done

They really are great fun, I would just say to ensure that your string runs through the middle of the cup ad try and pour the mixture around the string if that makes sense
