Your tutorial is the best I've seen. I've watched some other ones but they weren't as easy to understand. Thank you so much for going thru all of the steps. Awesome!
I used a X-large t-shirt and got 23-24 yds of yarn from the torso section. I reserved the top section and ended up cutting a few more strips out of it for one pattern to be able to have rows that were all one color. First pattern will be out Saturday and the plan is to have two more patterns out the following wednesdays.
What material is that for the tshirt is it all cotton bc cotton is not stretchy right. Just curious would like to do this but need to know the material first. Thanks so much! Awesome video! Never thought of doing this before! Lol!
The shirt is 100% cotton and because it is knit the shirt is stretchy. That said once you stretch out the yarn, the yarn is not very stretchy when you crochet with it. This has its pros and cons as it makes it a little hard on your hands when you crochet with it but it results in a very stiff project which is great for things like baskets, bags and more.
It depends on how the image was added. Some you can just cut up and the image will just add a little extra color. Sometimes the image is like a coating and will peel off over time.
I like cotton best because if won't cause issues if you use it for a hot pad. But cotton blended with nylon or polyester should work too. I just wouldn't do 100% nylon or polyester.
your t-shirt yaen tutorial was the 3rd one I watched and the 1st one to make sense to me. Thank you.
I am happy it helped.
So much simpler than the way I used to do this. Thanks 🙏 so much for a clear, calmly spoken video.😊😊😊❤
You’re welcome 😊

Out of curiosity, what size is the tshirt you used?
Thanks for sharing! Can't wait for the patterns!

@@WindingRoadCrochet thank u so much for your reply
I always wanted to know how to do that! I have a lot of graphic tees what your advice on using those? Thank You 😊
It depends on how the image was added. Some you can just cut up and the image will just add a little extra color. Sometimes the image is like a coating and will peel off over time.
@@WindingRoadCrochet Thank You 😊
I have been wanting to do this! Thank you so much! Should it be 100% cotton or is a blend just as good?
I like cotton best because if won't cause issues if you use it for a hot pad. But cotton blended with nylon or polyester should work too. I just wouldn't do 100% nylon or polyester.
@@WindingRoadCrochet Thanks!
Is there a reason for not using the printed portion of the tshirt?
Yes. It is a real print then you can use that area, but if it has a vinyl like print on it then it will not stretch where the print is.
@@WindingRoadCrochet that is super helpful, thank you!!!
use across instead of acrost 👌 just for the language police 😉
I said across. Check the closed captions. They are auto generated and according to youtube I said across.
