- Spent a day on Tranquille river looking for another "Hot Spot" the last hot pocket I found had 1 gram of gold in 3 pans. There is always great gold on Tranquille, but finding those hot spots make for a very exciting trip.

This is true. I am from Chile, and I live in the desert so I don't really have places like this to go prospecting so I watch every one of Dan's adventures and i love every minute of it.

You still got more gold than I'd get in a couple weeks down here below the dam on Bear River.. I definitely need to find a better place, but when it's only a mile from your house it's hard to pass up.

Lol feels weird I bet... anyways I’m in Ontario and the laws may be different everywhere but is there a chance you could talk briefly about how to properly go about panning for gold? I just wanna do it like a hobby, spend a day walking a river and trying a few pans here and there. What are the things I should be aware of before just picking a random river and trying it? Have you worked the Sombrero beach area?
While camping there several free miners were panning and found gram size nuggets ( its where the hippies camp, just up river from the beach )
Also the san Juan River at Port renfrew has iridium, palladium,platinum and gold, which can be found along the black sand banks around the bog/ wet grasslands.
Only need to jar the black sand and send to surveyors office COD and they send you back a nice fat cheque...
