LYRICS:
How cold love is
How cold love is
They sit in their room
They all consume
They fall in their bed
They wanna go dead
They sit in their room
They all consume
They fall in their bed
They wanna go dead
How cold love is
My my
I’ve been so entwined
And the feeling’s coming for the millionth time
And the answer is so sweet
And the days they just seem to follow me
My my (my my)
I’ve been so entwined (been so entwined)
And the feeling’s coming with the finish line
And the anti, is so cold
So cold
So cold
They sit in their room
They all consume
They fall in their bed
They wanna go dead
They sit in their room
They all consume
They fall in their bed
They shouldn’t have said
How cold love is
The best band…poets and real artists
Listen to happy Mondays squirrel & g men...& Bummed..... classic poetry albums ✌️
@@jasonbennett4467 And Chameleons.
@@jasonbennett4467 I wouldn't call ryder a poet.. and that from a fan from the very beginning of the Mondays.
@@jasonbennett4467happy mondays poesia? 😂
i didn't think i'd love this song so much when i first heard it now here i am playing it on repeat....
Fav on the album, one of the only play through's in years without skipping, quality.
The North Dublin accent was made for this style of music! Just fits so well.
Leaving a comment here for the algorithm because damn it more people need to know about this fuckin band
LOVE his half talking / half singing voice! Kind of reminds me of Steve Kilbey of The Church!
each time i think about love , i find music like that who said exacly what i want to said to my lost love
Amazing!!
Chatten's voice and accent is/are three-dimensional so it adds an extra spatial element to the complexity of their songs. The guitar tunings on this record are excellent and the crafting of the lyrics is top drawer.
The voice is the only thing I don't like about this tbh

My favourite song in the new album. That bass line is just exquisite!
Yesterday I bought the deluxe vinyl from eel pie island records in twickeham for my daughter . Estranged .. one day perhaps xx
The retro vibe is so strong..The Cure...dark late 80's...yet new
huge all the way back to joy division!!! but so cool such a cool band.
the music is cool the lyrics are cold the images are cold the voice is blunt and cold..."life ain't always empty" boys :) gimme some tension some levity jesus it's a little one note eh? love the other records but if this were a meal it'd be chocolate ice cream in a chocolate bowl on a chocolate table in a chocolate room...ok i talked myself out of it its a great record!
Can relate to this so much! Thank you ❤️
Trop bon 🤘🙏
one of my fav
Love it
the lyrics break me every time f**k critisim. it works for me as does all their other tracks, if u dont get it, u aint been there....love u guys thank you
Fav
Favourite tune by them. All hail the DC
Geniuses
I like the song with the exception of the lyric “the fall in their bed” it sounds like “they fart in their bed” and I can’t hear it any other way
Thank you for putting that in my head and ear 👍
Haha, I thought those were the actual lyrics at first
No think your right think it's fart
In Ireland, being able to fart together in bed is a sign of love, an intimate act. Joyce once said he loved Nora so much that he "could recognise her farts across a roomful of farting women."
@@garybrady2723 that's worldwide I think 🤗
❤
Ahuevo!!
🥶 🥶
These r proper gig songs. Screamers.
Yup Dublin. Having a pint in the lotts.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️🤘🤘🤘🤘

A certain film-maker would say "Love is colder than death"
What fillm-maker
@@Jose-bg2vl Rainer Werner Fassbinder. "Love Is Colder Than Death" was his feature debut.
wish i could see them in brooklyn next week!
the best is yet to reveal itself...i fear
Fontaines ✌️
Tripping of me tits on shrooms now this is the vibe I need good dam this album is amazing iv listened to it sober and I’m listening to it high and it’s on another level!
Hell yeah 🤘🤘
How cold LOOOOOV is! LOL
PS televised mind PMSL kin brill
I love the two girls in the subway I saw... I want to talk to you again.. please a chance??
at least this time I understand the lyrics!!!
what did you not understand ??
I’m the only one thinking that the lyrics are about Cocaine!? 💀
UHMM you would have to be into a stupid scene of techno and in stupid ibiza for that. I have been to Ibiza 6 times. Europe 14 times. HOWEVER - the band - fontaines clearly uphold a bias towards the drug they endorse which is weed. They get hyped up pre shows by hip hop tunes and they mimic the sound of inhaling weed in their songs. Also weed lyrics at times. I would not characterize them as a weed band but they do endorse a slight change to a paragdime regime . NOT coke . They are not oasis. Oasis at their prime was balls out rock and roll insult the world and fight each other and make top top rocking tunes. These guys are melody, poetry and true alternative imagination and creativity. You are wrong in your analysis.
I think I might be hallucinating this, but I swear there's some weird time signature fuckery going on with the vocals and the beat of the song in the very beginning.
I swear the vocals change beat at least twice from the 1st beat to the & beat and then to the 2nd beat.
Trying so hard to be Rowland S Howard
I love Rowland S Howard and this song (and Fontaines D.C.), so maybe you're right? But idc.
Ça gratte 3 accords, ça fait du bruit et ça nous casse les couilles.
Seriously. The repetitive lines he repeate in EVERY fucking song is a style thats getting old with me. Write some lyrics. Jesus. The band is great
But the lyrics are awful. He can't seem to be able to go deep..
I recommend he reads some poetry, or lyrics by Patti Smith
Maybe try something new. Cause the repetitive thing is REALLY getting old
I agree
I kind of agree in songs like televised mind but I think it works in this on. Also the band started because they loved poetry and wanted to do something similar.
Idk, there's songs like "I love you" where the repetition works well in building up to these amazing, powerful and poetic lyric verses, but I definitely see your point. Aside from "I love you" and "Jackie down the line", this album's a bit underwhelming to be honest. Which is a shame, because I thought every song on the first 2 albums were absolute masterpieces
@@josephbrennan9712 yeeesss! The first 2 albums were absolutely amazing and I feel the same abt this one. The songs are repetitive and even the vocals are out of tune and boring many times. It's a great band, but I'm afraid they should have worked more on the lyrics and songs in general.
@@leopedley2030 @Leo Pictus yes, Leo. It worked perfectly in Televised Mind, which is one of my favorite songs by them. But I have to agree with Damian. It's getting old and boring. I got disappointed, tbh.
Must have taken 20 mins to write this song. Seen them live. & Love the first two albums. But this album has been rushed & is a let down 😟
Sometimes the best songs are written in 20 mins (or even less)
@@mateusztomczak2415 never 😲 really...wow
i want to listen more songs like this written in 20 minutes, lets see if we can write a song of this quality on 20 minutes, I challenge you.
