Shame that they removed it from the regulations. This would be outstanding for hybrid cars in general if there was an F1 incentive to keep developing it instead of relying only on regenerative braking and direct drive charging.
So, does the turbine spin the MGU-H and compressor using the waste energy from exhaust gases? I do not really understand what powers the MGU-H and how does it create the electrical energy. Does the MGU-H provide some resistance to the turbocharger and using the energy from it to spin and create the electrical energy or is it only powered by the turbine spin? Thanks.
The exhaust gases from the ICE spin the turbine which does two things - a. drives a shaft whose rotation is converted into electrical energy in the mgu-h and b. drives a compressor that compresses incoming air in the ICE acting as a turbocharger (compression results in higher amount of air intake and combustion taking place in the engine leading to more power generated)
@@anantnayak971 I understood that mgu-h works mostly like an eolic generator, when the turbine is spnning high, it generates energy, when the turbine is spinning low rpms, its helps to increase the spining rpm, increasing the turbo boost. isnt that ?
MGU - H kills a lot of the sound output from modern F1 cars muting them, I'm happy they're getting rid of it. The cars are going to be simplified from 2026 on carbon neutral petrol and will be much louder again, hiw Turbo V6 F1 cars sounded in the 80s.
Advance race car drivers in the zero drive aid days would feather the throttle while slowing down the f1 racecar with their other foot. This pedal technique helps to keep the boosts up. The f1 driver will need to keep track of transmission temperatures and other parameters so as not to break any parts prematurely. A perfect F1 racecar will have characteristics traits of a drag car: when at the starting line and coming out of a turn (or for those that rather call the Apex, a corner). 😂 then you would also want to be able to have the driver familiar with drifting when those tracks are very aggressive, as here in the States, as to have the driver be able to control the racecar when there is very minimum traction. Then you also want your driver in almost 100% focus and concentration. This is where a 24hrs LeMans racecar drive should excel at. Love auto racing whether be prewar, postwar, contemporary and now this EV 💩 😂❤. Auto Racing, a competitive lifestyle ❤

Its not as needed anymore as F1 will use sustainable fuel from 2026 onwards

On Zero point energy concepts, that's would be non sense to let those energy spread 😅🎉
Porsche's new hybrid has an MGU-H (it's simply called an e-turbo).
@@AlexanderPavel Yeah just saw a vid about it. It's amazing
I love these tech content
Keep them coming plz

The way I see it, it's an electric turbocharger that also has the ability to regen
Mgu H is not included in 2026 regulations. = The end of mgu H development?

shame it is going away, hope to see it mass produced in road cars. Amazing throttle response from AMG ONE!

What is the max power in kW?
It's unlimited by regulations currently.

Why not call it "electric turbo" with battery?
it sounds fancier
@@carlitoxb110 does it though?
I kinda still prefer electric turbo.
