  • Hello everyone. AspenTech channel has brought another exciting video for its valuable viewers. Lecture # 86 is focused on process flow-sheeting, for which ammonia production example is taken. The ammonia production process is simulated in two ways, i.e., with and without recycling. Additionally, the process flow diagram preparation methodology is presented in the lecture as well. Please do watch, like, and share the video, and subscribe to the channel. Thank you for your continuous support. Keep supporting. Thank you.

    Thanks for making this very explanatory video. Pls can you also make a video on the Aspen Plus Economic Analyzer (APEA)?

    thank you for this tutorial. I would like to know some guides for analyzing the result of this simulation: how would I calculate the efficiency of ammonia production and the energy consumption of the whole process? I would appreciate for your help. thanks

    In general we are using shell and Tube heat exchanger but here we are using Heater acting as cooler any specific reason?

    Should we need multiple compressors with intercoolers, because pressure is very high?

    In the open-loop process of ammonia production is it necessary to recycle the stream?

    Instead of putting a heater and a cooler, can we put one heat exchanger which uses heat from the reaction to heat the fluid?

    • @aspenchemchannel
      @aspenchemchannel  2 роки тому

      Yes. The heater and cooler are simply used for the understanding.

      @@aspenchemchannel how is the temperature in the reactor maintained at 400*C, do we provide extra heating/cooling for that?

    • @aspenchemchannel
      @aspenchemchannel  2 роки тому

      Yes. External heating needs to be provided for the endothermic reactions for maintaining the temperature.

    Why should we reduce pressure in the reactor? what is purpose of pressure drop in reactor?

    • @aspenchemchannel
      @aspenchemchannel  Рік тому

      Usually there is a slight pressure drop industrially, so to make it a realistic look, this has been included.

      @@aspenchemchannel Thank you for your kind answer. :) But one more question. Why do we split by 0.05 in the spliter? Is it also reflecting the realistic efficiency of recycling process? and why do we use syngas without carbon dioxide?
