BECAUSE YALL HAVE ASKED: i accounted for everything else and quite literally the number did NOT CHANGE at all in any way whatsoever. read this community post i made for more details ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxC2gbvLQWX2U8AifnPG6_-ju-5WLnrx69. also the text below has sources n shit.
this quite literally took me a month to make due to research and shit so i hope yall like it :DDDDD btw links to all my sources and discord right below this text
    discord server: discord.gg/AsaJ8nRUVg
    corrections:
    1. the number is EEEEEVER so slightly higher than what i said due to me not accounting for module scripts. it just makes the amount of digits roughly 15 higher but on the scale we are dealing with.. thats basically nothing. that is all

The floating point bug happens in virtually every game, not just Roblox. I tested it in a game called Geometry Dash, and the numbers there are kinda different from Roblox. The float rounding bug exists in the game too, and we refer to it as the scroll speed bug. It varies with FPS. At 16777216 units out, (1 block = 30 units) the scroll speed bug becomes very noticeable even on 0.5x speed. The first barrier is 33554432 units out, at this point only 4x speed can cross from one line to another. At 67108864 units out, I can’t move anymore and the only way to move around is to teleport. At very high numbers, the textures start to glitch out. The game pretty much crashes when I go beyond 5 billion units out, I don’t know why that happens.

    - the terrain editor

    - You can have multiple places inside a game
    - third party applications being able to interact with the game 😬
    - The billions of images, audios, meshes, etc. that can be added and the various combinations of those
yeah uhhhhhh good luck if you want to update the number with these

yeah the terrain thingy is practically impossible to calculate (which is why i left it our) lmao. for the game settings they barely make a difference only multiplying the number by like... maybe a few thousand. as for multiple places, i just forgot, and theres absolutely nothing on what the highest it can go actually is so i couldnt make a good estimation even if i wanted. 3rd party applications are already covered under scripts i believe. images n audio and shit are also covered already (check the spreadsheet if you havent ye) :P

Next video idea: The walkspeed limits of Roblox. I have experimented this in a game called Noob Train, and here were my findings.
~1000 walkspeed: This is the first appearance of the "slope bug" where at abnormally high walk speeds, the character will be flung when it goes off a slope. It's pretty minor currently.
~10000 walkspeed: Your character will be flung after hitting a block and you'd fly about 2000 studs up with the slope bug. And NO, the slope bug is not caused by jump height.
~50000 walkspeed. Nothing new except an increase in the slope bug. We are going to do a BIG JUMP.
9223372036854775808 walkspeed. This is 2^63 walkspeed and causes the bug where you can't move at all. It's not done.
3.23170060 × 10^616 walkspeed. This is where I discovered the weirdest bug ever. First of all, there's a large delay for moving and you move at 16 walkspeed. Second, and more interestingly, every 3 seconds of walking, your character will die and then teleport back and stop for a second? It's really weird.

    • @tristantheoofer2
      @tristantheoofer2  6 місяців тому +1

being real i dont think theres enough interesting shit to do a video on that. also the reason it breaks at that number with your walkspeed is actually bc everything outside of the normal floating point number range gets converted to either infinity or nan, nan is what breaks it.

fun fact: you could use knuth's arrow notation to grow numbers extremely quickly,
    for example:

    3^3^3^3 this turns to:
    3^3^27 this turns to:
    3^7,625,597,484,987
