I've come out to Mahtomedi a few times just to listen to that siren. I miss the 1000T that North St. Paul used to have, not a fan of the Whelen Vortex they now have on City Hall.
Okay, for anyone new who’s getting information from the comments... There was never a chopper swap here. 1000T labeling didn’t appear until the eighties.
@bytor55110 There is one on top of a elementary school in Springfield Twp, OH that use to be a 1000 couple years ago until something went wrong with the chopper. They decided to replace it with 4/5 Port chopper. It's the one Carexpertandy recorded about a year ago.
@bytor55110 call Oakdale about the 2001 on 50th street which is by station #1 for Oakdale the 2001 does NOT work IDK if it's the rotator or the siren's battery

No 1000's had single tone 5 port choppers. They sounded like a huge vacuum cleaner.
@bytor55110 It says its a 1000 cause that is what it use to be originally. Somehow they changed the chopper into a 1000T chopper. That can happen.

Maybe this use to be a 1000 cause they swapped the chopper with a 5/6 Port.
@Siren1000T1 I'm not sure what you mean by that. The faceplate on the starter box says it's a 1000...
