Yeah because Vanitas is literally darkness and not a part of Ven but because Ven thought that if darkness is given form it can be defeated because the darkness/ Vanitas said so

Crazy how skilled Osment is for pulling off both Sora and Vanitas in such an amazing way and make them truly feel like different characters.
I had no idea he was Vanitas' voice until I looked it up.
Even separated, Vanitas is still a part of Ventus. He, or rather, it, only took the look of a more grown up version of the person Sora would become, only because it needed to reflect the change of _placeholder_ Ven's heart underwent. Their connection was never parted, merely altered.
That makes a scary amount of sense ..... always wondered why he looked like sora as eerily as it was until 3 happened I thought it was just a coincidence lol
The fact the unversed come from vanitas' negative emotions

For him to create that many unversed for us to fight through the intire game.

This boss has been kicking my rear for the past hour so I thought to watch someone else fight him...I've used Last Word twice now and it has done nothing, what glitch have I wandered into
The infinite limbo of 0 skill
followeroftheprince | Last Word ends the battle (well, more like an interactive cutscene) once the final dive connects- if you do it from too close or too far the hitbox goes above/below Vanitas. If the dive connects and Vanitas’ battle doesn’t end, that means you’ve encountered a bug and you likely won’t be able to finish Ventus’s story barring an update (if you’re in an out-of-date version) or grabbing an installation on a different console and retrying.

This is not the first time that Ventus decides to confront Vanitas to protect his friends, just that he does not remember it

I guess Nomura likes it making characters looking evil but they're just misunderstood. Same scene with Riku in the first Kingdom Hearts. He acted like an asshole too but he is also just a misunderstood person.
@@Baka_Crazy Well but Riku was not really evil. He more or less succumbed to Maleficent's manipulation and Ansem's (or rather Xehanort's Heartless) possession.

I've fought Vanitas like 5 - 7 times in the PSP version and out of all those times, I've only seen Last Word miss once.
I did the last move and the MF still fucking lived...

Last Word was such a cool finisher, but it just-so-happened to be the buggiest move in KH. One misstep and you'll have to fill the gauge again.

Best fight in the series. The part with the shattered citadel is so amazing. Vanitas voice lines are extremely well directed and certain.
I love how we get more context to Vanitas in Union Cross, with him being one of the original Darknesses the MOM fought frequently during his reign of having No Name. Ventus was always pure light, the Darkness literally took the Darkness in his heart out, but then they reformed when Ventus saved his friends in Union Cross.
Well Ventus was an ordinary person, naturally having some darkness in him, although Light is dominant inside him
But the 13 apparent Incarnations of Darkness (I dubbed Formless) made plans to ruin the Dandelions attempt to restore the world after the Keyblade War
One of the Formless possessed Ventus, used him to kill Strelitiza, and take her place as one of the Dandelion Leaders
In the end, Ventus was knocked out and sent to the future
And apparently when Xehanort split Ventus into two, he actually gave the dormant Formless a physical form, as he as Vanitas took all of Ventus’ natural Darkness with him, making Ventus a person with a Heart of Pure Light

The very last part when it says last word. I did it and it didn't kill him, I had to keep fighting and died so I looked it up on youtube..... wtf I guess my game glitched, cause I beat him but it didn't end.....

@Blade Of Farketh - Still though. Even an incomplete X-Blade would still be pretty powerful. Best guess is probably because it wasn’t the true X-Blade since it was born of a single duo of light and darkness instead of the 13 and 7.

I was overleveled for this fight (Lvl 40) and had a bunch of abilities so I completely just whaled on Vanitas

Somehow the first and 2nd part I got through (in like 10 or more times), but once I got the hang of it, those parts were easy! Now I'm stuck on 'finishing him off'. Don't get the third part :/ I still have a very short energy bar too which doesn't help at all.

Does anyone know the name of the music piece that plays when at the end, Vanitas is struggling to regain the X-blade but ends up falling to his death?
I want fajitas' powers. Seriously the ability to spawn wannabe heartless like that in any shape I want based off of my emotions in that amount plus the ability to use the keyblade? Sold.
In fact, trade in the keyblade for more control and powers over the unversed. Make intelligent cloned versions of me that can do everything I do, fuse parts of unversed onto me for their powers and even minion master the shit out of it by hiding inside a giant unversed and controlling it AoT Titan style.
I don't mind losing the keyblade hell it'd be less useful than the enhanced powers in real life and I could always get it again in the game universe by chilling with yen sid and sora and shit.
It'd be the dopest shit ever. Tell me I'm wrong.

This boss is literally impossible without heal on proud mode for me. You can’t heal in the 3rd fight and I died like 50 times already lol I’m done!!! I’m defeated 😂

I don't understand this... I get to the point where I can do the final X command but he doesn't die to that at all. I even get to do it a second time and he doesn't die to that either. I die shortly after the second one because I am not allowed to heal. What am I doing wrong?
Its a bug in the final mix hd remaster version.
This move is unmissable in the psp version.
Unfortunaly you just need to keep trying until it works.
For me, I think it's because you're too close to vanitas and against the wall at the same time

Roxas looks like Ven because he took his shape when being created as Sora’s nobody because Ven lives in Sora’s heart. But Vanitas looks like Sora because he is the darkness of Sora’s heart.. so wouldn’t that make him Sora’s heartless too? Correct me someone please.
