i just heard this song and i immediately started crying. i have no idea what are the lyrics yet, i just know that there's something about the melody that made me so emotional and plus i'm in a hard place in life currently where i don't see a happy ending in near future and it seems like the world is against me
The image this song paints in my head is both beautiful and melancholic and I would love to share. Her partner had placed a call to her and the outcome was a breakup. They placed the call from their car and this was a deliberate action probably to hide from "someone else" (we would know more later). The lyrics "And it all comes undone, Will it ever be the same again?" 1:16 shows it wasn't instant because the conversation had gone on for sometime but there were some hints before arriving at the point of the breakup. Her partner while leaving (New York) had told her, they were at the Bauer Farm. The Bauer Farm is a place that holds precious memories for the both of them because she mentioned these lyrics "Lost at our old house" 3:01 . We can tell she is sad when she says "Off with someone else"3:08, this just had to sting. The beat goes up after that (silence is louder than words here) and here we can feel the intensity as she's feeling all sort of emotions and further realizing the situation she is in. When she sings "I know now why you were down" , repeatedly. This indicates her partner has been acting different for sometime now but she just could not tell and finally after this call, everything makes sense. I just have to say, this was an extremely wonderful song and the lyrics plus the chords really made this feel like it was a personal experience. Thank you Skullcrusher...❤️❤️
The first time I heard this song I was so taken aback by the sounds at the beginning that it started swooping me in as it scooped my mind from my body and into perceiving the song like I were @skullcrusher.online8890. I love this song ❤❤❤
god this !!!! this song is one of my favorites of all time. i recommend skullcrusher to literally anyone who asks me about music. also, this video came out during a very hard time for me, its comforting knowing something beautiful came out at the same time :)
There’s something about this song that just calms me so deeply and takes me out of my thoughts. It allows me to just listen and be present and I’ve used it in the aftermath of panic attacks to calm me and bring me back to myself. The gentleness of this song helps remind me to be kind to myself even in those hard moments. It means a lot to me. 💛
Doll on a Music Box (from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) inspo/homage with the spinning pedestal? Absolutely fantastic music video, so ethereal. An even better song.
Found you through Khruangbin and the Dead Oceans site...always great to discover new artists. Cheers, and keep the music coming! (Love your name, too, btw.)
I cant take the song seriously with a name of Skullcrusher it makes sense to do it with metal or something but this ain't it chief. (Not hating btw its a good song.)
nah it fits to me, if you think of the name skullcrusher as something physically then yeah but emotionally or mentally nah, or maybe she purposefully named her project skullcrusher ironically and gave us these soft heart string pulling tunes

I really hope you're better now...and I just want you to know that if it hasn't, this time will definitely pass.
I'm rooting for you
This may be my new favorite song. Not just from Skullcrusher; like, ever.

THe way her voice trembles when she says "New York" brings a lonely tear and goosebumps every time
What a banger! I love the way her vocal melodies work with the chords in her songs. It feels really unique.

Lovely song. I heard it the other day on Raadio Tallinn in Estonia (ca 10.11.2020).
Raadio Tallinn is part of ERR, the Estonian national broadcaster.
