These are solid for what they are, but they compare most to escooters in the 500$ and under range and that hurts it ALOT. If it went 20mph for 20 miles it would be significantly more competitive. As it is, it's a novelty, not really something useful.
Had mine for a few months and have used it for zipping around car shows, short trips as well as a 20+ mile day trip. The lack of suspension is definitely my main complaint especially with how rough the roads, paths, and sidewalks are here in Hawaii. Recently picked up an aftermarket seat post and it really makes a difference being able to mount a large spring seat to help soften the ride.
I think its a nice vehicle for campus life where you may park quite a long distance from the building you're heading for and need to travel a pretty far between classes. This also aplies to some workplace environments.
I’d use it as a pit bike at an autocross or track day. The size is perfect, unfolding isnt an issue if it’s just part of unloading for the day. I don’t think it’s meant for daily use with the issues you mentioned, but to do a sighting lap on a race track or autocross course, seems perfect.
I feel like this has more of a cool and novelty factor. With the specs it has only having a 12mile range and can only get to a top speed of 10 miles an hour it’s definitely not worth a grand. This seems like it should coast in the range of 3 to 500 dollars tops for the specs it does have. If it had like a range of 20 miles and a top speed of like 22 miles an hour I could see it being close being in that 1000 dollar price range!
Yeah, I only just today heard about these. I *have* to drive to work, I live in a town of about 35,000, the parking lot is no issue, and I really can't see myself needing one. I can see definite benefits if you had to park way across campus, or if you got dropped off from your bus or train ride way far away from your destination. I also live in the mountains, and I don't know how practical one of these would be for, say, going to the grocery store, riding up and down the mountainside, even if it *is* only half a mile away.
I saw this some months ago at my local Hinds dealer. I still don't understand. Comfort would be the only advantage for sitting down vice standing up... and it doesn't seem to offer that.
I bought one a few days ago and rode it the next day for 7 blocks. It was way too rough. If I had taken that same ride before buying, I would not have gotten it. Hopefully, I will like it better the next time I ride.
This reminds me of what the sidekick characters from a Saturday Morning cartoon would ride. Definitely neat, but the seat would be a deal breaker for me.
The '83 compo and the '24 compo Its like WALL:E vs E.V.E 😂 I still like the akira toriyama-esque '83 compo style imho. For anyone wanting that '83 future retro style but with modern electronics search out the Katalis Spacebar ❤
I just picked up the Izip commuter from Canadian Tire last night for $429 will be able to save that in gas over a summer taking this to work, been ripping around the neighborhood cant wait to rip to work on it rather then having to drive my truck use gas for a literally 3 min drive.
I have one and honestly, the suspension is my only gripe with it. Its a fun quirky little scooter. I use it a lot to go to stores close by and such. It does the job and I don't have complaint about that at all. Just sucks I live in New England our our summers are 3 months and only have the 3 months to really ride it
Wonder why they didn’t even offer a suspension seat? With a lot of e-bikes, you can go in settings and “unlock” more speed. It might be possible here too!
Where can I buy the Honda E-bike from an authorized dealer? Which states is it available in? Could you share the contact details of legitimate dealers? Thank you!
A "cab" company started up in my area using these... Drunk at the bar, don't want to leave your car? Call them and a "driver" would show up on a briefcase bike, custom built from 49cc pocket rockets. They'd fold it up, put in your trunk and drive you home, then ride back to their hub. Dunno what happened to them
Its a mall/airport scooter! Convenient usage for mall security and police and/or people with disabilities who need to cover vast distances indoors such as a mega mall! Otherwise, just get a Fluid Mosquito scooter for the ultraportable last-mile solution!
Mall? Probably will get kicked out. Airport? Battery is to big. Battery has to be less than 100 watts to fly on a airplane. *Edit* Is way to fast to be used in a mall. Most of the mobility scooters has a top speed of 4 miles per hour. That is roughly walking speed.
Lectric sells a Folding e-bike that is the same size, same weight and has a 45 mile range at 20 mph for 799. This is junk with a Honda label on it. Its a cool novelty, but if you are looking for a solution with a similar form factor that will do a similar job for a decent price, most jackknife style electric scooters or budget folding e bikes will do the same thing for less with an all metal frame and far more comfortably. Honestly with the size and industry standards for manufacturing I am shocked Honda has the nuts to ask a grand for something it's competitors are requesting 3-5 hundred for.
Bought 2 and sold both very quickly. They are hideous to ride, and after the initial cool wears off, you realize you got cheated and you look stupid on them.
The gas powered one was an actual legitimate moped with a reliable engine and transmission. It was a separate vehicle in its own right. This is basically a glorified hoverboard
i really don't think Denki ''wasted'' any money on this , when i am sure HONDA was pretty happy about sending him a review unit....and maybe a car to use in this video ? not judging, just wondering a bit.
I'M the niche. I'm a full-time rideshare driver in a big city and I'd LOVE something like this that I could fit into the back of my car. that way I can take a break when I need to and go for a ride in the park or along the water. My only questions are: 1. Does it fit underneath the back cargo floor of a 3rd gen (2010) prius? 2. is the handlebar stem on this more expandable? it DOES look uncomfortable to ride while sitting, but I wonder if a standing position wouldn't feel more natural? if anybody could possibly answer these I'd be super grateful 🙏
If this thing was half the price and had a bit more speed (like a top speed of 35-30mph) then I could see it selling extremely well. Seeing it for 1000 dollars, while a great design, is just too much for what you get.
I understand the limitations of having to abide by regulations as a large company, but I feel like they could have done a better job designing this. There are many ebikes and escooters that outdo this thing for less. My 30lb ride fits in my backpack and outpaces as well as outlasts this thing for the same price.
When you think about it theres an imbalance of price, battery range, weight, and practicality. If it were half the price and weight, it would make sense with the range. Otherwise, it is bulky awkward and heavy, and barely would make sense, because I would leave it somewhere Id have to settle for or would think is safe, and lo and behold, someone steals it.
I appreciate the compact folding design, but for $1000, you can a better e scooter or e-bike with more range, more power and speed. 15mph top speed and 12 miles of range is really bad for $1000.
Electric Scooters and bikes come down to mph. I would not listen to people who owned both for years and brought the entry level long range models that had speed limited by law of 20 mph. At first it was nice until you ride it in traffic and up hills. The speed limit governs how much acceleration you will get and also how much torque it has. I upgraded to a 80 mph electric scooter and could not be happier! Got rid of my Segway limited 20 mph scooter.😊
These are solid for what they are, but they compare most to escooters in the 500$ and under range and that hurts it ALOT. If it went 20mph for 20 miles it would be significantly more competitive. As it is, it's a novelty, not really something useful.
This is niche. You know it’s niche. It’s not meant to be a scooter for everybody.
@@SweetKingTanner even if it's "niche" what's the niche and who is in it? Either way, my comment stands regardless of it being "niche" or not.
*a lot
Two words.
They should have just got a Honda Cub and driven that in and left the car at home.
500 and under? more like 300 and under

Where did you get your aftermarket seat?
Large flat side......he should sticker it up with anime stuff.
I just took a shit. I should make it look like anime stuff.
As if the rolling briefcase isn't dorky enough...
That thing looks like it's straight out of the 70's.
Ken made this video just to flex the supra
Its always good to see a well kept stock Z4.
Blasphemous watching you pull your Honda 🛵 out of your Toyota 🏎 which is powered by BMW 🚗

I think the real winner is the quality from your clip on microphone. That windshield is doing its job admirably.
I went to a car show earlier in the year, and they had a demo/giveaway for it. It was pretty fun, though I did not win it.
100% why we wanted one in the office LMAO
Okay but a $300 scooter is lighter…faster…folds up easier…cheaper….etc . This is a gimmick
I would invest in some seriously thick memory foam seat covers.
I feel like this has more of a cool and novelty factor. With the specs it has only having a 12mile range and can only get to a top speed of 10 miles an hour it’s definitely not worth a grand. Did anyone at honda actually test this thing outside their work campus? Have they even rode on the average city sidewalk?
I’ll guessing it’s not road legal and would take up to much room on most American sidewalks
@CricketEngland it's an e-bike, so no it's not street legal
No they didnt
It would be perfect if it had suspension. Or maybe just a better seat
I personally enjoy the Motocompacto a lot! I usually use it for fun, driving it around parks and such. A really fun escooter, in my opinion.
Should have got the “Luggie Scooter” or a “Honda Cub” and driven in all the way
Yeah, I only just today heard about these. I *have* to drive to work, I live in a town of about 35,000, the parking lot is no issue, and I really can't see myself needing one. See guys, this is a Honda. All those other cheap Chinese scooters will need parts very soon and you wont be able to fibd them.
It's maybe $500 cool. At a $1000 you're getting into duel motor territory. $1400 you can get full suspension 60v 6000w 50 mph hyper scooter.
Silver metallic option would look good and hide dirt better then anything
Love the compact size but there's nothing suitcase about it. I have a real different suitcase scooter and I love it.
You would be absolutely crazy to take that thing at 20mph. The wheels are small and wheelbase is too short for high speeds.
I saw this some months ago at my local Hinds dealer. I still don't understand. Comfort would be the only advantage for sitting down vice standing up... and it doesn't seem to offer that.
"You're Under Arrest" Anime features the Moto Compo. It looked like it was a fun ride too, though 92 lbs is a bit much to lug around
I bought one a few days ago and rode it the next day for 7 blocks. It was way too rough. If I had taken that same ride before buying, I would not have gotten it. Hopefully, I will like it better the next time I ride.
Never forget to mention your sports car lol
Apparently you’ve never owned a black vehicle they show dirt way worse then white or silver
I was thinking just that.
This reminds me of what the sidekick characters from a Saturday Morning cartoon would ride. Definitely neat, but the seat would be a deal breaker for me.

If it came in stainless steel, you could easily store in the flat bed of your cybertruck, sorry, the office's cybertruck
we're not stupid enough to buy that thing lmao

Is that a xiaomi scooter stuck in a white box?
He kept mentioning in the back of my sport car

Honda car, or Acura dealerships. They come with a 12 month warranty
Man I was waiting for him to mention the You're Under Arrest anime reference that features the MCs' Motocompo and the partner City.
Same. Fantastic show

This would be amazing for car shows.
There is a custom seat that's more comfortable and has Springs in it to absorb😅 7:19
Ok but does it have vtec ?
This is just a 💪 at car shows and car meets. Or a collectors piece down the road. No regular degular buying this. I want one so bad 😢
Why?
The NUI Air weighs 26lbs, goes 20mph, 31 miles range and smaller for $950.
I think the folded form-factor is the only aspect I see as a plus.
All I can say is the super is such a beautiful car. I know not everyone likes the new one but I am a fan I am happy every time I see one
I saw one the other day... the rider was casually riding down the street. It looks like fun.
i found the perfect colour combo.... the CBR tt legends 3colore style . !!! why not ?
I think, that's time to upgrade has come.
And a first thing,you should do, it's re-paint it,as a suitcase, leather one.
Then + suspension,and the sit.
That looks like it should be a public use vehicle for large establishments: airports, malls, stadiums, etc.
Maybe if it was a bit cheaper...
Didn't Austin already buy this
it's almost like this channel is part of the company
Just can't see the reason to purchase that

This would pay $300 max on this. Most scooters in the $300 area can go as fast as 20mph & have greater range.

Very fun, thank you. I rode mine at the beach last week, had a ball 😊
Honestly look really good. Prices of good scooters are around $600-$1200, so I think it justified in price.
Looks goofy though
You can get a decent scooter that goes faster and farther for $200-$300.
It's overpriced for the specs.
Is THAT A SUPRA !!! Nice car man

This would be really fun to ride in traffic.

🤣
Not sure I'd put an expensive laptop or phone in the tray with that ride quality.. 😅
That guy in the parking lot really wanted to ride it.
Should have got a Navi. Although it’s probably awesome for senior citizens.
What if I want an actual electrical scooter?
i really don't think Denki ''wasted'' any money on this , when i am sure HONDA was pretty happy about sending him a review unit....and maybe a car to use in this video ? not judging, just wondering a bit.
For $1000 it needs to go at least 30mph have suspension and a huge battery in the needlessly big looking case.
LOL Cool little video, but what happened to the tall gangly guy with the glasses? Did you let him go? Well nice video anyways. Dank you.
So cute! I'd rather have the original 80's version with the 50cc gas engine though.
@bwc1976 The original Motocompo scooter is $3K to 5K though and that's if you can find one.
With the shape of the body you can just have it wrapped ,very interesting..!
I hope the make an improved version and call it the Motocompactwo
$399-$499 is a more palatable price point. $1,000 is just too much for what it isn't.
12 mph, you are probably riding it in mode 1 seeing how you are pushing off to start.
I want it so bad

thats not a supra, its a bmw

Get this and a Cybertruck. You can drive a triangle and rectangle.
I'd check the drone camera. It seems to be ignoring your baseball cap.

This is the thin and light laptop equivalent of having a 4gb ram on apple silicone macbooks, it's there but only for the specific and menial of tasks.
Wrong video.
It's a scooter.
jeremy clarkson made 1! rode it through an airport
He races Richard Hammond if I’m not mistaken
He also crashed it and knocked and old man over and didn’t even stop to help
