Shaq's Insecurities are Getting Painful to Watch

- I admittedly didn't dig that deep into who should have won, as long as LeBron is out I'm happy and you can give the MVP to quite a few people without me being upset. But Shaq was distasteful and didn't even have his facts straight...the very facts he used as the basis for his argument.
Credit to @DaCommishDude for the doing a great job on the first video I saw on the topic and for the clips I inserted here from his edit.

08:11 Shaq threatens Chuck about NBA players and football. - Розваги
Paid millions of dollars for your opinion and analysis of the league. Yet doesn't have any idea what the numbers actually are. Seems like Shaq treats his desk job a lot like he did his playing career.
Lazy and selfish
Shaq is there to make goofy statement not analyze, clearly.
Maybe they should incentivize him to do his job with a bonus, the way Adam Silver tries to motivate the players to do their jobs.
He absolutely does. I don't think Shaq prepares for the show. He doesn't do his homework and put in any extra time. Just as how he treated his playing career
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I don’t want to say it, but a big part of the dismissal of Joker and Luka is a thinly veiled hatred of elite level white players.
It’s nothing new. In my lifetime, there were similar things said about absolutely electrifying players such as Larry Bird and Steve Nash. Stop me when I’m lying.
Now theyre trying to say the 2011 mavs were stacked when really it was all Dirk.
At least the nfl accepts the best runningback today is white 😆 shaq needs to reel back in his racism
Also John Havlicek, Dirk Nowitzki, etc.
It's not even thinly veiled, it's become very blatant
@@talldreamyopposum they say barkley is better hahaha laughable.
Shaq talking like the goal is to win MVPs not championships 😂😂😂.
Most sensitive big man ever! He lucky he didn’t play against Wilt Chamberlain.
Heh, people have forgotten before there was Hack-a-Shaq there was Tilt-a Wilt.
I agree
Shaq is BY FAR the least skilled center that's in the discussion as an all time great and it's not even close.
@greggibson33 Shaq is the only center that was allowed to just drop his shoulder and truck defenders. Wilt could have done the same thing but he developed skills. The fadeaway, fingerroll etc.
Lucky he didn't play against kareem,, Hakeem already gave him the works lmaooo
Maybe if Shaq came into the season in shape he would have won more MVP's .
if he stayed in orlando shape! not just mvps .. how many more rings??!!!!!
The story is Jokic and his third MVP.
Or bothered learning to make a free throw.
...and had great court vision.
...and could shoot free throws
...and could shoot 3s.
....and could assist.
Kobe gave 110% while big man gave 50% .... Kobe said it '' If Shaq gave 100% he would have won over 6 Championship and 4MVP '' but he was a lazy out of shape cheesburger eater......
It's obvious. If Shaq had maintained his physical fitness from his Orlando days and improved his FT just, at all, he would have averaged 32-35ppg for his career.
Jokers humility speaks volumes.
Shaq missed OVER 5000 free throws in his career!! 5317 to be exact. Zip it, Shaq. Nikola should politely decline going back to any TNT interview - and ESPN. They use him for their audience and then treat him like crap. Politely say "no" and go enjoy your family and successful basketball career. No one needs this garbage.
5317😮
Bron may surpass Shaq in that category before he retires the way the refs send him to the line
Problem is if he refuses nba will start finning him
Don’t want to cross a line with insults, but Shaq is resembling LeBron a bit with his need to give self praise and take others down
Facts! Excellent video. The other hilarious thing about Shaq's comments on Inside the NBA was when he kept talking
about SGA's scoring, while completely ignoring the fact that Luka, who finished 3rd in MVP voting, led the league in scoring
at nearly 34ppg! 🤣
They were once teammates, right? It just goes to show that everyone who comes in close contact with LeFlop magically acquires his penchant for being hateful.
Easy tiger!!!
There’s a very huge gap between Shaq and Lebron 😂
Shaq has exactly the same psychological makeup as LeBron, and I can easily envision him becoming a carbon copy of LeBron under the same media treatment. "I told my kids we are not rich, I am" - its the same narcissistic outlook sprinkled with delusions of grandeur that we see in LeTravel.
@@TheDjsalem Yup.
Shaq has been having a Midlife Crisis since Kobe died. He realized that he did not give his all during his career. Which is why he's bitter towards Centers who are getting more accolades than him.
pff what a dummy. Millions are poor and frustrated and he still cry like a bitch for his failures while he is enjoying millions on his bag
He’s going the Lebron route of trying to rewrite history
No. H'es just a jealous dum dum.
Bingo
This right here.
That's one of the few times you can tell Ernie is genuinely about 2 seconds away from just calling him a moron then moving on.
5:35 Shaq is the Steven Seagal of basketball analysts 😂
Everyone knows Shaq talks out of his ass 99.9% of the time
Instead of congratulating Jokic, Shaq is telling him to his face "you didn't deserve it", you'd think they robbed his son of that MVP. Did he check with SGA before starting to talk for him?
The look on the big man’s face when Charles Barkley says hack a dummy.😂🤣😂
No one told Shaq to show up each training camp completely out of shape after the Lakers won their first title in 2000. Shaq is the only reason Shaq didn't win more MVP awards. If you spend almost half the season getting into ideal playing shape don't acted surprised when you miss out on collecting awards.
400 pounds. He reported to camp at 400 pounds.
Shaq is the only player besides Lebron, who doesnt want the foul called against the other team on him at the end of the game....Shaq and Lebron are the same, both afraid to shoot the ball at the end...
The "Hack-a-Dummy" line was incredible! Shaq hasn't been burned like that many times in his life 🤣🤣🤣
Ernie tried to get him out of his emotions but he just got more angry
Shaq is the prime example of being gifted but no effort.
If he was an average sized center he wouldn’t have come close to making the NBA.
He is a huge fan of LBJ and was his biggest supporter when he went to miami.
A career of squandered talent and experience. His laziness was obvious on the floor most of his career. Most Dominant? Try Most Complacent. Most Good Enough.
@@canttakeanymore He calls himself "most dominant" because his playstyle is akin to that of a bully. When he's matched up with somebody of greater talent, he folds.
He couldn't dunk when he was 6'8...
@@hoki0624 Yep, I'm old I watched Hakeem use him like he was still in high school. That was a great series. Watching 6'4 Barkley guard him was awesome too. It's really annoying listening to anyone pretend he was the most anything except lazy.
When you look at their NBA careers, you would think that Charles Barkley would be the most insecure one out of all of them. But ironically, the most accomplished one is the most sensitive.
That's probably because Chuck has long accepted the fact that part of his failures during his attempts at getting a ring were internal. MJ's assessment of him was he didn't have the drive to win, and maybe Charles realized that in retrospect. He's currently okay where he stands in NBA history as a player because nothing can threaten his position among the greats any longer.
Shaq, on the other hand, feels his position as one of the greatest centers in the NBA is being threatened by today's best, so he goes out of his way to downplay or even dismiss Jokic's accomplishments.
@@hoki0624 That makes a lot of sense. Shaq does have a lot more to defend, and his position is actively being challenged with every season.
3 MVPs in 4 years and a possible back-to-back rings is a serious challenge to Shaq. Also Shaq’s legacy has to live with the demons of now working hard enough and also not dominating players through an actual skillset.
I think Kenny because he still wasn’t as good as chucke charles Barkly
I think the only reason is that Chuck is a very mature and real guy.
I love how Shaq kept trying to interrupt Ernie and he just wasn't having it
Shaq was allowed to get away with murder , league let him offensive foul to his heart . He is a bum.
He was the original lebron running people over lol
Shaq has some great personalities, but those cannot cover up his insecure childish behaviours since day one
Thanks for posting. This wasn’t a debate show. They were presenting the award. Horrible by Shaq. Save this take for another day. Not about him. It’s about joker that night. Arguments made zero sense and dude just looked ridiculous. Then says it to his face. Terrible. Thanks again aoh
I don’t see how Shaq escapes the Lebron effect! He was Lebroning WAAAY before Lebron was in the league. He was the 1st superstar to leave a competitive team to join forces with Kobe. When he seen the writing on the wall, he left for Dwade and Miami. Rinse, wash and repeat!! He took every max deal that came his way, without ever putting in work to improve his game. FINALLY he runs around referring to himself as G13 classification, The most dominant, etc. all while demanding his respect!!He has played with DWade, Kobe, Lebron, Nash, etc. he has played with multiple All stars and hall of famers! He has been coached by dozens of coaches and has been on at least 5 different teams all in an effort to ring chase. And all he has to show for it is 4 titles. He never “drove the bus” he was always the co-pilot
I’ve actually been thinking about this lately
Finally Shaq has been exposed as a bus rider hahahahsha but Charles won’t say that
@@vineezyproductions9638 Chuck calls him a bus rider all the time. Every time Shaq goes on one of his sensitive“GOOGLE ME” tirades, about his rings, Chuck always says “Ya, you had Kobe and Wade dragging your fat ass up and down the court” meaning Shaq was carried by those guys, I.e bus rider!!
Shaq: 4 rings
Chuck: 3 of them coming from the view on Kobe’s shoulders
Shaq: Storms off set, angrily rampages backstage, and causes $11.50 in damages.
He also called himself the big Aristotle lolz.
I know it still a long way ahead, but I think Shaq might be starting to get worried about Jokic taking his all time place...

What shaq did is called racism
Yeah and most of America can't admit that
Yeah but it's anti-WHITE racism, which is universally accepted and even encouraged in American society, so it won't even be called racism, much less called out.
The blatant racism against Jokic, Luka, and Caitlin Clark by the sports media is the mainstream, status quo position at this point. That's why Shaq, Arenas, Keyshawn, Shannon, Stephen A, Perkins, and all the others feel so comfortable spewing their hate on a daily basis. They'll keep getting paid lucrative salaries to do this.
I don't think so he praises Jokic but his ego can't handle another big man being better than him
@mallwillaims8695 No, technically it wasn't and it isn't. There was an obvious push to place Nikola Jokic in the same or similar context of Larry "Legend" Bird in winning three MVP awards in succession, however, Larry Bird is technically the NBA player that truthfully won the award by effort for three years consistently. The media in the latest era attempted to relay that Nikola Jokic could be the first to win the award in the same or similar succession however, the Center position was met with assertive competition that third year. Nikola Jokic didn't win it three years in succession because Joel Embiid did technically rival the stat line of Nikola Jokic thereby winning the award within the year that many will debate Nikola Jokic almost did. Plus Larry Bird will always be Larry Bird FOREVER!!! Three MVP awards in succession will always be difficult in the NBA because of whom holds that record and the quality of man Larry "Legend" Bird will always represent on the court and in interviews pertaining to basketball. Horrid Kanye West Taylor Swift awards moment in which Jok handled it like a gentleman
Shaq hit his prime at the perfect time. Olajuwon, Ewing and Robinson were all nearing the end of their careers, Mutombo wasn’t far behind, and Zo, who was going to form a Chamberlain-Russell type of rivalry with him, had his kidney issues. Shaq even called himself the Last Center Standing. He got to feast on basically backup centers for years until Yao Ming came into his own. He never developed his game outside of 10 feet, and his defense came and went. He still had a great career, but he could’ve been so much better if he had even half of Kobe’s drive.
Doesn't every NBA player "start all over" in the beginning of every season? What? Shag thinks LeFlop should simply be 'given' the MVP next year? Is that it, Shag...?
Its simple. Shaq will never ever give praise to a center and jokic happens to play the center position

Joker is a breath of fresh air
I grew to like Shaq over the years but, this just reminded me of how he was during his playing days. He was lazy and insecure during his playing days and Kobe called him on it and he pouted. This whole thing with Jokic was classless. It reeks of racism and jealousy.
Shaq as a center should be praising Jokic for his incredible talent at this position ... but no he's probably jealous Jokic is on his way to have a better career than him
big baby that knows his career could have been way more than what it was
The main reason why Shaq doesn’t agree with Jokic winning the MVP is because it overshadows him. He’s the most jealous player in the past 30 years. He got jealous of Penny got jealous of Kobe. After he retires he hates on Dwight Howard and every top big man since. You called a Spade a Spade. Shaq is insecure!

To be fair, Shaq would know about receiving something undeserved after Steele and Kazaam
To those that think Shaquille O'Neal was babied in the NBA. Shaquille O'Neal wasn't babied in the NBA or prior to the NBA by his step father. In fact of truth Shaquille O'Neal was always told "No!" in reference to things he wanted to do knowing he could do them. Players such as Kobe Bryant were in fact given the green light due to them having favoritism from the league being a standard scoring position at the Shooting Guard position and being from NBA nepotism. So "Shaq" was NOT babied. He was placed into a role of receiving pain as the "Hack a Shaq" method was introduced and referee calls weren't offered to "Shaq" as they were offered to shorter or less massive NBA, and College basketball players at the Center position or other positions (To call a complete fair and level game.). This strategy is in keeping with a slaving tactic utilized by slave masters in that the call wasn't given on account that Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal could take the abuse due to his size, and in return on his own account Shaquille "Shaq" O'Neal decided to dish it out to all and any. WHICH IS WHY THE NBA NO LONGER HAS CENTERS WILLING TO BE POST DOMINANT, "Shaq" in return went so destructive to opponents in the paint that regardless of pigmentation/complexion no one wanted to be physical against him again in the post. That's his contribution to the NBA if you truly look at it from a historic perspective or vantage point. He too in turn destroyed the game along side Michael Jordan but that was obvious to everyone when he debuted and broke entire basketball rim reinforcement post instead of the backboard. They technically had to re-engineer the entire frame of the support beams in professional NBA basketball because of his dominance. But the lesson is call a fair game regardless of an athletes advantages over another, and if you need to, be less personally invested in the athletes advantages over any including yourself. That advantage is that mans gift to the sport and you will arrive at the inclination of how you too are that same or similar style of human in your own particular way.😎
The thing i was most annoyed about what the fact it took him no more than 30 seconds after Jokic was annouced as MVP, for him to make it about himself and bring up the fact that he was robbed by Steve Nash for the 1000th time. About time he gets the f*** over it, "man up" and move on with his life!

Shaq is still bitter about twice losing the MVP to Nash, so he’s now aiming that vitriol at Jokic (with this recent MVP outcome reminding him of when he, too, was “robbed” by a white player). To make it worse, Jokic is also a center; and with all these accolades he keeps accruing (and still with at least 6 great-to-MVP-level years left in him), people will amp up the discussions about his placement amongst all-time centers.
And come on, there’s obviously a thinly-veiled issue of race in play. To Shaq (and a lot of the “old generation” players), much of Jokic’s laudation is due to him being a great player who’s white. This is nothing new. People did it with Bird, they did it to Nash, and now they’re doing it to Jokic.

Jokic is class personified. He always displays proper decorum. Gives his coaches and teammates their well deserved credit when they win. Never makes excuses when they lose. Never gets into a war of words when he is criticized. Instead, he uses the negativity and fuels his inner fire and competivenes to make himself and his teammates play harder and better. He epitomizes the meaning of the MVP. Who wouldn't want to play with or coach him. Have you ever seen him displaying negative and condescending body language, or rolling his eyes at his teammates. And a bad game for him is 21point, 9 rebounds, and only 6 assists. Any other center in the league with those numbers would be demanding a max contract. He exceeds those numbers easily, and is completely unselfish and unassuming.
He's thinking, if the NBA is willing to push MJ into the background for LeBron they will do the same to him in favor of Jokic and Wemby.

The Big Baby.
Shaq does bug the piss out of me for one reason: While he played, though he was a beast (esp young Shaq), he was lazy. Drove Kobe CRAZY. Didn't work hard, only cared about partying. Rather than developing skill, or working on his free throws, he mindlessly relied solely on size/brute force advantage. Now that he's RETIRED... suddenly he's so into his pride, and legacy and NBA status. Why didn't he care when he played? Kobe cared. Picture Shaq and Tim Hardaway trading bodies. Tim would have been insanely good, because he had actual basketball skill. Shaq would not have made the G league. When you only rely on size advantage and ignore skill development, you're not good, you just won the genetics lottery.
Shaq has a lot of growing up to do at 7ft. Shaq is a reflection of not having any biblical values. The guys gets no respect from me.
Calling a strategy “hack-a-Shaq” is more of a term of endearment or badge of honor for Shaq than an insult in a way. Shaq is like a big baby.
