I've watched this movie every Christmas for the last 25+ years. Never gets old.
@🌴ViceGuy nah that’s you for even saying that. The movie is a gem, you are a troll

Because the movie Is brilliant, I love It.
I always add A Christmas Story. I also watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles before Thanksgiving every year.
Who else watches this every Christmas eve?
I've already watched it about 20 times since it start on the AMC channel lol. I can almost quote all the famous lines by heart.
This and "Die Hard"
I tried to but ran out of time yesterday.
Every year ! 🌲🎅✌️🤣
I watch it pretty much the whole month of december lol
It's just not Christmas without watching this movie
So true 🙂👍
Watched it last night.
Christmas Vacation, Elf, Home Alone, and A Christmas Story. I watch those movies every December.
Just finished watching it. Sorry I’m done for another year. Can’t wait to watch it again next year
My kids grew up watching this every December, and are now in their 20's and coming over for the tradition every year.
Christmas wouldn't be complete without watching this movie.
Yes, this and ELF and A Christmas Story are now my go to's every Christmas
Greatest Christmas movie ever!
“Why is the carpet all wet Todd?”...”I don’t know Margo!”
Ole Todd had it ruff didn't he?
Close second behind Die Hard
Best lines ever!!
adam riesner best line ever
I have a t-shirt that says "I don't know Margo'
What a film! Never gets old, but it’s bitter sweet seeing Chevy age
No kidding why is he hiding a basketball under his shirt 🤣
One of my favorite actors from the 80’s.
I think he might have kept himself up better if it wasnt for his drinking. I read somewhere he had an alcohol addiction some years ago. That bottle will age you overnight!
@HELL'S HITMAN yeah but that still doesn't take away the joy he gave us in watching him and the whole cast in this movie.. CHRISTMAS VACATION , CHRISTMAS VACATION, were so glad it's christmas vacation . LOL. LOVE IT!
I was thinking that smh....
The original Vacation is legendary, but Christmas Vacation has solidified itself as a timeless Christmas classic.
It’s just not Christmas without the Griswolds.
Best Christmas film
I remember when my hubby first bought it for me on video best film ever first Christmas film I watch every year ,then it’s a wonderful life then polar express ,Santa Claus movie ,then last of all one magic Christmas 🎄🎁☃️🎅❄️
I say it a lot, but i probably laughed hardest in my life when i was a kid and saw him on that sled. It totally surprised me and took me off my seat.
Yes, Rebecca. Never gets old every year!
We play it every year with out fail when we put the tree up and I still bust a gut when he kicks all of the reindeer in the front lane.
The Xmas vacation isn't that funny too me...
If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now.
I went to junior high with Johnny Galecki in Oak Park, Illinois, when he got the role. Everybody went nuts when the film came out. heh
Is he Lenard from Big Bang?
@@mikehiggins9055 Yes
Without question the best Christmas movie ever!
Tim Sacco6g for me, it’s one of those movies , like the Royal Tannenbuams, that you can really only appreciate if you’re American and you grew up there. I enjoyed it but I couldn’t quite get the humour at times.
@@shizuokaBLUES well I'm german and I've got everything. might be because american christmas is pretty much a copy of the german one

I've been watching this movie every Christmas since 1989 and it never stops being funny. My favorite Christmas movie of all time
I watch this movie a lot I’m like it doesn’t have to be Christmas to watch this movie I like pulling this film out for Christmas in July as well there’s nothing like watching a winter time movie during the summer
My grandparents (R.I.P.) had this on vhs. It was pulled out multiple times, regardless of what time of year. ❤
Nieghbor: Where are you gonna put a tree that big?
Clark: Bend over and I'll show ya.

Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story, both favorites of our family. The Christmas season wouldn't be the same without them.
Believe it or not, I've never seen A Christmas Story!
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time! I look forward to watch it every single year.
Happy 30th Anniversary! Hip hip hooray for Christmas Vacation.

I used that reference up top and I hadn’t seen your comment til right now lol 😅😅
@DealingSpades nothing like using the Randy Quaid aka Eddie reference to describe this classic funny Christmas tale
The mayor of Jackson Michigan has put on a free showing of this movie every December in honor of his late father. That event has become a yearly tradition in December at the historic downtown Michigan theater. A classic Christmas movie that will never get old.
"Would anyone like to say grace"? Aunt Bethany?
"Grace died 30 years ago!"
"THE BLESSING"
"OH, I pledge allegiance to the flag......

Chevys face, when cousin Eddie asks Clark, if you was serious when he told the kids Santa’s slay was spotted by radar.
Best part of the movie - "You serious, Clark?"
Best part is the pool fantasy lol
Save the neck for me, Clark....
That's easily the worst attempt at spelling a word that I have ever seen. So bad, in fact, that if I didn't know what you were actually trying to say I would have likely developed eye-cancer. Let's do it together:

Ruby Sue
Amazing movie. Top notch actors. Funniest Christmas movie ever. So many things in the movie are relateable.
Still is.
"Is your house on fire, Clark?"
"No, Aunt Bethany. Those are Christmas lights."
"Don't throw me down, Clark".
"I'll try not to, Aunt Bethany"

Johnny Galecki as Rusty Griswald. Then on the Roseanne show. Then the Big Bang Theory. He's been in some EPIC STUFF.
I forgot Leonard Hofstadter was Rusty Griswald. Damn.
@Mike Mayhew Wild hey. Leonard Hofstadter was Rusty Griswald. I remember re-watching Christmas Vacation and I was like WHOA!! Roseanne. He was her daughter's boyfriend. Then Big Bang Theory. I didn't put 2 and 2 together but then WHOA. DAMN. SO COOL.
the one and only.
All these years of watching these movies, I never knew Galecki played Russ!!! Wow! I’m watching this thinking what’s he doing up on the stage? 😂 🤦🏽♀️
I barely found this out too!!! That's so cool!!! After watching the movie for the first time, I saw that Clark's son was a very good actor. Then after reading the ending credits, I looked it up on UA-cam and here we are. Johnny Galecki is a very good actor! Leonard from The Big Bang Theory in a movie with the great Chevy Chase 👍
Last time he was cute.
I was watching a wonderful documentary on brain surgeons and their work at a major American hospital. The show featured a contest with the staff showing off Christmas sweaters during the holidays. One of the surgeons had the standard red/white/green but in the centre was a knitted motorhome and the text underneath said “that there’s an RV!”. Best inside joke ever!
Juliet's dad is Geoffrey Lewis, the movie he and Beverly were in together was "Every Which Way But Loose". That was one of my favorite movies growing up.
@pete smyth I didn't know he had passed, he was a great actor, underrated...he was in a lot movies and shows. He was on Gunsmoke, Bonanza, the A-Team, to name a few and good movies too, like High Planes Drifter. If I were an actor I would love to have a resume like Mr. Lewis, and obviously, the fruit doesn't fall far...
I completely forgot that connection. Geoffrey was in several Clint Eastwood movies, including Bronco Billy as Sondra Locke’s husband.
This is absolutely one of my favorite movies ever. Christmas movie or even regular movie it doesn't matter. I so wish they can make another one.
This is one of those very rare movies where almost every line is memorable
And we know them all!
So true...so many great lines!

Diane Ladd is the only survivor now among the actors who played the grandparents. She's about 11 years older than Chevy. It's good to see all of them here.
In this interview, Ladd says she's about six years older than Chase, so wondered how she could play his parent.
Ok...looking through all of the comments here, I got curious, so looked up Chase and Ladd. Chase was born October 8, 1943 and Ladd was born November 29, 1935. So, eight years apart.
she looks great for a woman in her 80s, though,
This movie is so well cast. It is, in my opinion Chevy’s finest work. This was the perfect vehicle for him and he made the most of it. As great as the cast is, this is his movie. My favorite scene is with him and Ruby Sue. It’s such a sweet scene. The movie hooks me in every time…
I just watched this movie yesterday

My all-time favorite Christmas movie! It’s tradition for my husband and I now to watch this every year. We’re watching it tonight on Thanksgiving! We even watched it two years ago on our Christmas vacation in North Carolina!
It’s a timeless classic!
Saw this in the movies in '91. When Eddie says he "pisses his pants whenever Catharine revs up the microwave and forgets who he is" I had to leave the theater I was laughing so hard.
Oh my god!!! That is one of my favorite scenes to. Every time i see it i laugh like hell, even still to this day.. Lol
Chevy looks like he’s about to have a heart attack just trying to hold up that microphone.
Saw it in the theater with my family when I was about 10. It had just come out, I remember everyone laughing a ton.
This remains my favorite Christmas movie! I watch it numerous times a year and numerous times in December!
"Merry Christmas! Shitter's Full!"
Ah you check our shitter lately?
I use this statement throughout the year...the looks I get are never from Anyone who knows what the hell I'm talking about..LOL

"The little lights aren't twinkling Clark." Lol!
on behalf of everyone here commenting, thanks for all the laughs over the years and family traditions putting this on
This movie is a must every year for our family. I laugh out loud every time!
I watch it every day for a month until Christmas day for years and years.
Watch it every Christmas....laughed my ass off today when cousin Eddie asked if Clark was serious about Santa being spotted on his way to Chicago. And when Eddie keeps filling the shopping cart with dog food. And when Clark pushed his mom out of the way when trying to run from the squirrel. And, I could keep going, the whole movie is classic.
We watch this movie every year during the Thanksgiving weekend. It’s the official beginning of Christmas for our family!
One of the best Christmas classic films of all time.
Every year, for about 5 years now, the day after Thanksgiving...I put up our Christmas decorations. When I reach the point where I'm kicking boxes, throwing plastic Santas, and cursing man & God...I make a drink, put in this film, & laugh out loud at EVERY gag! Eddie: "You surprised, Clark?" Clark: "I couldn't be more surprised if I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet."
"I don't know what to say, except it's Christmas and we're all in misery!"
Smoke them, if have them
Chevy Chase is lost. He said Harold Ramus directed Christmas Vacation, but of course it wasn’t directed by Ramus. Apparently he was suffering from memory loss at this point in his life - very sad. This was fun to watch since I love the movie and watch it several times each year.
He said he directed the first one, not the third one. Listen up.
Love all of them. Great movie, awsome actors. Thank you all for being a big part of my life through movies and TV shows I love.
That is one of my all time favorite all year long movies. Lol. Love that whole series. It's brilliant.
Christmas Vacation was the BEST one in the franchise! Period. Never gets old.
Agree 100%
1. Christmas Vacation
2. Vacation
3. European Vacation.
As far as Vegas Vacation, Christmas Vacation 2, and the re-boot Vacation, I could care less for any of them.
For me it’s Christmas Vacation then Summer Vacation followed by Vegas Vacation and then the European Vacation and lastly the 2015 Vacation.
@@Disturbed928 You could care less? Interesting, I always thought it was "couldn't" care less 🥴
Chevy's food preservatives were obviously a huge success for him.
I watched it 10 times in this Christmas. Legendary family 🤶🌹
Christmas Vacation, the gift that keeps on giving still some 30-31 years later
So many classic lines in that movie!
Juliette Lewis hasn't aged! She could revise her role today!
Agree to disagree.. she's got a ton of wrinkles now
Still as Sexy... 😍👍
She’s so damn Beautiful and is aging gracefully thank God she never went under the knife and never got any kind of plastic surgery
Diane Ladd is a national treasure
Brujx 4U she was 7 when Chevy was born. Let that sink in.

Cousin Eddie emptying the shitter with no pants on was hilarious, Best Christmas movie EVER!
It’s the gift that keeps giving the whole year Clark
One of the reasons this movie resonates with me every Christmas was Diane Ladd's performance. Particularly that scene where she plays with his face during the greeting! It's so cool that was something she came up with during the audition process!
It just isn’t Christmas, if I font get to watch “Christmas Vacation!” I absolutely Love this movie & could not tell you times I’ve seen it. Never gets old!! 😍♥️🍿 🎥 🤩

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has always been a modern Christmas classic!! 🎄

Randy Quaid cracked me up in this. Especially this line; "Merry Christmas....... Shitter's full."
Mr. Chase is hilarious and poignant in this film. This film is a masterpiece!

I love love love all of Chevy’s movies. I never ever get tried I’d watching them. ❤️❤️❤️
For some reason it took me a long time to realize why Clark's fingers were sticking to and ripping the pages of the magazine out but I realized its because he had all that sap on his hands from their tree
Looks great! Lotta sap.
Why was he crunching when he was eating dinner?
I assume it was Eddie’s dog, Snot. But it seemed weird that dog food/cat food somehow got into their cooking
I just re-watched this movie last night (every Xmas) love it.
