You always come up with such great ideas! The idea of people being food insecure freaks me out too. I belong to a FB frugal meal group and every so often someone says they have hardly any (or no) food and it upsets me. There are absolutely no reasons for it in this or any other developed country. Have you ever seen one of those dumpster diving channels like Freakin Frugal? It’s shocking, the amount of perfectly good food that gets thrown out is a sin. I’ve heard it said that there is enough food to feed every person on the planet but the problem is getting it to them, what with wars, lack of infrastructure, corrupt governments etc. With everything going on in the world right now, 300 million people are now facing famine. That’s almost the same amount of people as the entire population of the US. Anyway, that’s my depressing rant. If someone is able, please consider donating to your local food pantry. Even a few dollars helps.
Pinned this comment! You are 100% correct. We are in the 21st century, There is no reason why we should have anybody going without in this world. Definitely donate to local food pantries if you can, and DO NOT be ashamed to go to them if you need help! Nobody should go hungry!
Retired social worker here - if you’re able to donate to your local food pantries, please consider giving cash rather than food. They have corporate partners and contracts that can stretch the money further than anything we could do for them in a store. Anything helps, but thought I’d throw that out there.
I belong to another group and many are from other countries. Several have said "please tell me people don't really waste food when so many in my country struggle to eat." Broke my heart. We don't realize even when we don't think so we are lucky to live in America where there are programs to help.
You can also use the water from the veggies cans, to use in your biscuits etc. The water from those cans, in an emergency situation, is such a blessing!
Putting a tote of these together (as many as is a good fit for your budget) would be such a good gift for an older person on a fixed income who you don't know what to get for Christmas, newlyweds, or as a housewarming gift for a young person moving into a new apartment/house. You would just need to include copies of the recipes. Thanks for doing another round of these--they're great!

IF there was an emergency, Natural Disaster OR man made it would be helpful if you had a few of those kits down in a 5 gallon bucket ready to grab and go QUICKLY. Also If you take a single bottle of water and mark with a sharpie on there where the water line is for say for the water needed for the biscuit mix. This allows you to grab and go and not have to have measuring cups. I bought a batch of P38 (military can opener) off Amazon and have one taped to the inside lid of my 5 gallon bucket. (I have had all my kids use one so they are comfortable with it) I have a lighter and a can of sterno down in my buckets as well. You just NEVER KNOW anymore in this crazy world when you might have to leave your home quickly and having a bucket or 2 ready to go is a little bit of extra security. Don't forget to throw some plastic silverware and napkins down in the bucket as well.
@@TLCInTheGarden Yes IF the type of lid you're using requires one. Lately that type is always either out of stock or too expensive. YES If your bucket has that type of lid a tool to open does make it a lot easier.
Yes I add bottle water to each kit for cooking and drinking and sometimes a powder flavor tube to add to water. Helps with kids and get the ones good for immune system.
My grandson makes 2 packs of chili ramen then adds a can of chili with beans to it. Then he adds some liquid velvetta to the top... great shelf stable meal.
My family’s favorite shelf stable meal is chicken and rice. Two cans cream of chicken, can of chicken and rice. All you need to add is water. As for sweet treats. I keep the small just add milk or water muffin mixes, the small cookie packs and shortening instead of butter, and a box cake mix, can of soda, and frosting. Voila pantry stable sweet treats.
I never thought about putting what I have into meal kits. I am always trying to decide what to fix for supper. If I do this, it will not only organize my small storage space, but help me decide what to fix when I don't know what to fix lol. Thanks for that idea.

The pesto chicken is even better if you add a can of cream of chicken soup with the pesto and the chicken over the noodles or mixed with noodles so delicious
I have the ingredients for each bag broke down in the description box. Along with the price I paid for each item, and the total cost, with recipes included for you to write down and stick in each bag.

Thank you for putting the ingredients AND instructions!! I was watching your other video yesterday and was like gah wish the instructions were with this
Thank you! That's so creative. I know I am more likely to cook if I see a meal in a bag instead of figuring out what I want to make out of my pantry. 😃
I have started putting dates on my can goods. That way at a quick glance I know which to use first. Living in Florida and going through my first hurricane season. I am starting to bulk up more and more on shelf stable foods. Also looking into an electric canner. So I can can meat and other things. Love your frugal meals.
Omg, my family are enjoying your meal preps. I will share your ideas to help some family members who need quick meal preps and will save so much $$ like I did. Please keep your frugal ideas coming!
For an idea for shelf stable meat you can add to recipes is chili without beans. You can add it to your chili bag you already have. Also to the taco soup. Plus a spaghetti dinner and a sloppy joes dinner.
i LOVE these. i used to do something similar because i lived in a very rural area and we had power outages during winter storms. Note: we still had a cooktop woodstove. but the bags helps make it easy to find the items in the dark without digging thru the pantry lol i dont know if anyone has ever done this but i also add bottles of water to my bags.
Thanks for doing this video with cool ideas . I have my stock pile in a box and I always rotate them so it just doesn't just sit there . This is such a great idea for emergencys. It would be great to see the finished product as you cook these, if you have to.
I can't take it if someone has food insecurities or going hungry at all. Making flood bags for Arizona emergency at our church.

I love bear creek products!
This is brilliant! I've been thinking of making a meals in a bag but don't know where to start. This is very helpful! Thank you so very much!❤🙏
Thank you! That's so creative. I know I am more likely to cook if I see a meal in a bag instead of figuring out what I want to make out of my pantry. 😃
Great idea! Also good for camping!!
I have started putting dates on my can goods. That way at a quick glance I know which to use first. Living in Florida and going through my first hurricane season. I am starting to bulk up more and more on shelf stable foods. Also looking into an electric canner. So I can can meat and other things. Love your frugal meals.
Love your ideas!
Thank you for the suggestion of putting date on bag. Great idea others have not thought of.
Just dis covered your channel. You share great ideas and clearly have a heart of gold and an. adorable family. Hugs from Canada
Sweet treats are a moral booster too!!!
You can use Keystone ground beef in a can. It's really good.

I’m so happy they loved them!!
Thanks for doing this video with cool ideas . I have my stock pile in a box and I always rotate them so it just doesn't just sit there . And I also have a box with baked goods like flower Suger and vanilla and other stuff to make home made baked sweets. I know hard time are coming really soon and I don't want to miss out
