I love your channel because it allows me to find good repertoire for my beginner/intermediate students. They love all of the pieces I find through your channel! Thank you!
Именно я в свое время отсканировал доставшиеся мне на книжном развале мемуары Майкапара, изданные в 1938 г., за что удостоился похвалы от Александра Майкапара - правнука мастера, тоже известного музыкального деятеля :)))))))
I’m certain Maykapar’s writing is priceless and desperately seeking accurate English translations of anything and everything Maykapar has ever written! It makes me happy to know you scanned his memoir. ❤
It was so evocative: I played it during my studies at music school; a very usual piece for music school in Ukraine, as Samuel Maykapar was born in Ukraine (Russian empire at that moment)
@Hedera We will thank you for not being so obnoxious to post citations in musical corners. We don't post our musical preferences in your biblical corner.
Unlike most music, this composer had the nerve to write a very nice melody. The harmony is supportive. The piece is coherent and organic. Nice job well done.
A beautiful piece I enjoyed very much. Going to attempt to play this myself. Thank you so much for the music you introduce us to. They are all such heavenly pieces.

This definitely has that same melancholy feeling as Francis Lai's main theme for "Love Story". Very well performed! You have a fantastic sense of emotion.
It’s sounds a bit nostalgic and sadly touching, but I really like this piece. Though I’m not familiar with this musician, starting from now on I’ll pay more attention to this music.

Beautiful vignettes, sweet, and memorable❣️ As a ballet pianist for many years…these melodies are often very familiar, even in the repertoire❣️ i searched lots of “ out of print” music thats where i would find much of the beautiful music I used. One composer, whose one page miniatures, and i loved them all……was ALEXANDER MALOOF. I HAVE A COLLECTION OF HIS. AND EACH IS A MASTERPIECE. I have retired from playing professionally…and if you wanted to see his music, i would send them to you. Just message me.
Lovely again (I'm binging.) What was the occasion for this piece's composition. Are they SUPPOSED to be student pieces, or are they "easier" pieces by less virtuosic composers. As an (untrained) composer, I'm admiring/envious of the composerly sensibility evident in most of your uploads, even as they maintain their simplicity. It just seems part of that greater-Russian high seriousness when it comes to art. Very resonant for me.
Lovely, the main theme really does sound like a modern film ost because of its clustered harmonies and overall simplicity. I've been wanting to play it but I cant seem to find the score, would you mind sharing it?
Nice music but if you hear well the una corda pedal Is not properly calibrated and when the A3 note sounds there's a light disonance of hitting slightly the Bb3 😅
Good morning, and tyankmyou for posting! Could you please tell me the opus and number of this piece, and the publisher too if you have the details, please? I have downloaded the score from the site, but I need these details to enter a student for exams. Many thanks!
