Same here. Made me cry as well. My paternal grandmother married into a very anti-Catholic family and was away from the church after her marriage and none of her children were Catholic, but she always had a rosary hanging over the headboard of her bed. Before she died, she asked to see my mom and aunt - both very Catholic - and asked for a priest and to be buried through the church.

I’ve got loads of statues, holy pictures, prayers, pamphlets, blessed scapulars and medals, blessed candles, holy water, Rosaries etc. and it breaks my heart to think what might happen to them when I die as they are so treasured and well used by me. Some I inherited from my own mother as well. I know they are only material objects but it’s just that they represent so many of the various devotions I say as I look at them during the relevant prayers and they keep my mind focused on who my prayers are aimed at. I would love someone to love them after me. I wear some of course, like my brown scapular and miraculous medal and hope I’ll be buried with them.

I am currently Protestant in the process of possibly heading in the direction of Catholicism. And I'm repeatedly horrified at the immaturity and nastiness of Protestants that attack Catholics. I rarely see that attitude from Catholics to Protestants.

    • @MetanoiaCatholicism

Straw manning is immature. We are trying to help but one can only help so much, before one decides not to keep throwing our pearls to people who are not willing to engage civil but more so as Christian brothers and sisters. Are Catholics perfect? No. But I recommend that when you decide to convert to Catholicism that you be the best Catholic you can be for God. Some Catholics have their salvation back packs on others don’t,but, that’s between them and God. We just pray for them.
May God bless you with graces of clarity and understanding so that one day you may have your metanoia experience. Amen

Second, do you really think Mary wouldn't know when her Son was born or that it wasn't conveyed to the Apostles? Third, please show me where Sola Scriptura or Sola Fide are in the bible. Please show me where "accept J.C. into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior" is in the bible. You know what's in the bible? All the clues to when Jesus was born without stating "December 25th". Know what else is in the bible? All the clues that led us to the concept of the Trinity without actually saying "Trinity." The Catholic Church set the dates for Christmas and Easter based on historical evidence and Tradition (which goes back to the Apostles) and all Protestants follow them. I’m going to Protestant church and I think I had prayed for unity (in a good way). I pray for God to bring us together, as believers, in truth. I remember at a protest I stood with a young man holding a beautiful sign of Mary and we talked (he was Catholic). Then some 7th day Adventist’s came and must have assumed I was Catholic too because they gave me their book and told me to read a chapter which I think was about Catholicism if I remember. I see so many denominations and animosity, while civilization is collapsing, persecution is rising, and the enemies of the church are rising up.
So many Protestants are so blind they literally say “I stand for [enemy of Christ nation]” or they stand for [blasphemers of Christ] even though many of those people recently mounted a war against the church over abortion. The often the same people bash Catholics and the Catholic Church which declare Jesus as Son of God.
I am a ex-Muslim so when I enter into a Protestant church bashing Catholics it’s strange to me, it sounds like things from 1500/1600s from Europe which is so foreign to me. Why did they get rid of confession? Why did they get rid of monasticism? Why is it so wrong for a pastor to be celibate and childless? Why is the Eucharist so bad in their eyes? Why get rid of icons when a dark world needs beautiful art? Why venerate an abominable nation that holds the largest pride parades in its region while criticizing Catholics for venerating Mary and saints?

Let me explain that your church is the only one that claims that God can't save anyone outside of it's perview. Because other Christians are concerned about Catholics doesn't mean they hate them. Catholicism is a different Gospel. It is a message of works, laws, rule keeping, and performance. The biblical Gospel is about faith in the work of Christ alone. There is no room for mixture in this. No one hates you, but we must contend for the truth.

It is clear that it would be good for you to read the early Church Fathers. Hopefully, you will see why we Catholics believe and why we believe it.
The first Christians were the beginning of the Catholic Church. Until the 16th century, all Christians were Catholic.
The Books of the Bible were put together and codified by the Catholic Church.
You claim that we have different beliefs is true. As Our Lord and Savior said, "Unless you eat My flesh and drink My Blood you have no life within you."
Yes, to be a good Catholic does take a little work. Jesus opened the gates of heaven, but the road to get to the gates is narrow.

I get your point but it’s beautiful that people come late in life, then they get to spend and eternity in Heaven, which is way better than a long life as a Catholic here and not being able to actually live the faith the right way.

I sincerely understand and appreciate your sentiments. You're on point. However, the fact of the matter is that it just doesn't work that way. Jesus's way of thinking/acting is, thanks be to God, completely different from the ways of human beings.😅 Paul used to be Saul in Judaism before he came home to Christ. So were all the apostles, and, in fact, everyone else in the earliest Church in Galilee, before the gospel of Jesus Christ fanned outwards to reach gentile lands. It's not beginning well that matters as such, but finishing well. In Jesus's parable, everyone received the same exact wages for a whole day's job, whether they worked the entire day, or just an hour. We can only thank God for these conversions; and we pray for more of such. Everyone is welcome back home to Rome, on board the plenitude of the Christian faith and practice.❤❤❤

Strong Protestant becomes Catholics and Weak Catholic become protestant simply because they never read and study the history plus brainwash by some pastors simply to add their members for money(10%) tithes.

Young and old alike, the depths of their conversion matters and no matter how old they are, they receive the graces of the Sacraments, the rich traditions of the Church, the Saints and a lot more that you are referring to. Be sad about and let’s pray for those “lukewarm” Catholics who do not even believe in the Sacraments anymore (did they ever?), especially the Sacraments of the Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation. So, young and older brothers and sisters, come join us in our Catholic Faith! Have an open mind and get to know what the Catholic Church/Faith is all about! Viva Cristo Rey❤️‍🔥🙏🙏

God Bless you and welcome home. Jesus Christ came with a sword. Catholicism is the religion of the cross. And the cross is heavy and hurts but one still has to embrace it with the best effort the believer can.

Kate, thank you for your witness! And, what a confirmation on graces received from that “one little act of obedience- staying celibate and chaste until you got married. Of course, I am not minimizing the truth that even in marriage we also must practice chastity. I believe, God also showered me with an abundance of grace with “my little act of obedience- to stay celibate and chaste after my divorce.” I was 49 yrs old when our divorce got finalized. I planned on an annulment of our 24+ yrs of marriage, but changed my mind. Even though I did not want to marry my ex-husband for several reasons, I knew then that when I finally acquiesced into marriage that it was for keeps. So, when my ex- served me with the divorce papers, I willingly obliged and decided to stay “single” for good, despite a cannon law priest’s reassurance that my case had a high probability of being approved. I also believed that Mama Mary helped me a lot as well in staying true to my chosen life of celibacy. When I pray the Rosary, I always add a “4th” Hail Mary prayer after the first 3 Hail Marys- for “increase in the virtue of chastity and purity.” I’ll be 68 yrs old next month, still single, and joyfully living a celibate and chaste life. I thank God for His loving mercy and grace and the intercessions of our Blessed Mother and our Saints and Angels in Heaven. Viva Cristo Rey❤️‍🔥🙏🙏

Thank you and may God bless you

In answer to YR QUESTION, DAVID IT'S NOT VALID: BUT, BUT......
GET AN OPINION FROM A ROMAN CATHOLIC PRIEST AT YR NEAREST CATHOLIC CHURCH:
JUST GO AFTER TH3 SUNDAY MASS, AFTER SUNDAY SERVICE:
AND KINDLY INTERUPT HIM, THEN ASK YR QUESTION.........
      HE WILL BE DELIGHTED !!
      AFTER HIM, GO TO A PROTESTANT PASTOR & ASK HIM THE SAME QUESTION ;
AFTER BOTH ANSWERS ASK GOD IN PRAYER, " WHAT IS THE TRUTH"....

Do you have a baptismal record? If your church baptized with the right intention, right matter (water), and right words (I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit), then its likely valid. Mormon, JW, SDA have different views of God / trinity, and aren't valid.
If you are unsure or skeptical of your baptism, there's something called a conditional baptism.

I read so many comments from people who have hopped from religion to religion (like people who bar hop)
And they say they have never been more happier every time they find another religion.
    For example...
    Carla says:
"I have never been more happier than when I left being a baptist and became a Catholic"
    Same Carla:
"I have never been more happier than when I left being a Catholic and became a Presbyterian"
Same Carla: "I have never been more happier than when I left being a Presbyterian and found god in the church of scientology"
Same Carla: "I am the happiest I've ever been being a Muslim"
    Carla has never been happy.

Protestants for me aren't wrong. They were just lacking the fullness of the faith. They are well meaning brothers and sisters, just a little misled. Hoping they could somehow accept Catholicism in its full but not throwing away their protestant beliefs, just aiming it a little towards unity. They could still have their prayer meetings but this time with the Eucharist as its highlight. How happy God and Mama Mary will be, I guess

    • @alisterrebelo9013
      @alisterrebelo9013 8 місяців тому +8

Graciano, when you say "without throwing away their Protestant beliefs", I think you mean without throwing away their fire of the Holy Spirit.
Because the list of wrong Protestant beliefs is long:
      Sola scriptura
      Sola fide
TULIP - 5 wrong beliefs wrapped into one acronym
      Eucharist is merely symbolic
      Baptism is optional
      Baptism doesn't regenerate
      Priesthood is invalid
      Apostolic succession is meaningless
      Not accepting the Dutero-canon
      .. the list could on

    • @TheMacDonald22

No. I could (maybe) say this about the Eastern orthodox but Protestantism as a religion is completely false. The only hope for Protestantism to be abandoned completely is the conversion of all Protestants and the rejection of their false religion.

    • @Burt1038
      @Burt1038 8 місяців тому +2

maybe for some. But what I've observed is the majority do "shop around" for their faith, and yet will consciously and purposely avoid studying Catholicism. If they were sincere in their desire to be Christian they would consider all options but they do not because that's not what's motivating them. Ultimately the appeal of Protestantism is that it's entirely and completely self-centered: the individual is the supreme authority on scripture; each person is a church of one.

So moving. I wanted so badly to vut it off, 3 mins before the ending, getting angry at at a conversation about "Presbyterian claiming he'd never heard of and didn't believe in double predestination?! I was really wanting to cut her off 3 mins into the ending..and something said "no," 😊I was conditionally baptized at age 14.😮 😢 at a Mission Parrish. Kind of puts double predestination into nonsense..6 X incarceration numbers, aren't double, aren't tripled but double-tripled..going to he'll rates at birth..😂What an idiot! And I really loved the guy, lifelong Presbyterian claiming 2 days ago..i I couldn't argue with him, and didn't bring up the word "Calvinism😂😂" Conditional baptism... where'd did that come from...this incredibly gifted speaker..blond..Jesus! I was going to turn it off 4 mins before she shared that.😊

If we put our faith in men we are in trouble. Jesus told us he came to establish his Church and that his Spirit would guide her into all truth. We put our faith in God and His Church and not in the men he uses therein. Jesus told his followers in his day to do what the scribes and Pharisees tell them to do because they sit on Moses’ seat. But, do what they say and not what they do for they are hypocrites.
