@Robby Biddle 🤨 yeah because we all know their gender neutral villains like Hans from frozen, the goddess of life from Moana, the grandma from encanto, the monster guy from owl house, and the true gender fluid icon: Gaston lol

5:59 I am so happy you did Dracula. Having recently read the book for the first time, I arrived at the vivid description in the book and thought that Dracula was not quite portrayed in visual media as was described. My next thought was - “I wonder if that guy on UA-cam that draws monsters based on descriptions has done Dracula yet?” Thank you so much for this. 🧛♂️
Honestly I love that the book's description of Dracula actually does cause my mind to think of his inspiration, that being Vlad the Impaler, who if you changed his hair to white, did have long hair, that was thick except for near his forehead where it had thinned, and had quite the prominent moustache
Old gentlemanly creepiness is exactly how Dracula is in the first act of the book. He keeps up the pretense of just being a kind host long after the John Harker realizes something dangerously supernatural is going on. By the end of that part, it’s almost mocking. You nailed it.
@@SebasTian58323 Strongly recommend doing so. I've seen the Coppola adaptation and while there are some great ideas behind it - clearly, because there were really good artists behind the movie - I feel like it does not do the book any justice. Especially the character of Mina gets absolutely shafted by the film despite being the most interesting character of the book while at the same time being a really, really good example of a strong female character, who is actually not a Mary Sue. From what I've heard or read about various other Dracula adaptations (TV, big screen, radio, comic, ...), every creator so far has tried to add something of their own invention to Stoker's original and, as a consequence, butchered this or that aspect of what made the original story so good. These aspects may be interesting interpretations in the adaptations in their own right, but IMO at the cost of the value of the story/writing as a whole.
I am really enjoying this series! It touches my heart. My godfather was an artist and I spent a lot of time of my childhood at his place. I fondly remember when me and my nephew, his son, were kids, we often would go to him with ideas we had for monsters or dragons or whatever. And he would sketch as we were describing our monsters. Leaving it uncolored. We then colored them in with the colors we had in our minds. He would then improve our coloring and highlighting it and adding shadow and dimension and stuff to make it look professional 😊. He passed away about a year ago. This series really takes me back to those days. So yeah, I'm really enjoying this. Thank you for that! I hope it goes on for a while!
My absolute favorite part of this series is hearing your thought process about why you are drawing what you’re drawing and how you go about putting those descriptions into a work of art. Great job! Very articulate and interesting
I did my uni dissertation on depictions of Dracula in literature, stage and screen and your illustration is definitely true to the book! That's the description of Dracula when we first meet him at the very start - he starts to appear younger as he has access to more victims. What's weird is that although his appearance is so sinister, he's very chatty and charming in the book!
I think a monster like the Grievers from the first maze runner book would be really fun to do because their description is so vague and creepy and who knows what you might end up interpreting it as… also love this series so much❤❤❤
Someone commented this on the last video! I would really love to see this too, it would be amazing. They are such weird creatures, and the movie versions did not do them justice at all xD
Yes!! When I read the book (just a year or two ago) I had to Google them afterwards because I had no idea what they'd actually look like based on the description, and I never found a good enough representation because everything is muddled by the movie version (which obviously looks completely different). Would LOVE to see Jazza interpret the book version!
For Dracula, you gotta remember that, back in the day when it was written, mustaches was seen as status symbols for men. It proved that you were (in the old timey fashion it was) "manly" by having facial hair, but you had the money to take care of yourself, as opposed to full beards, which were considered to be a symbol of not being able to afford to take care of yourself.
Well, originally Dracula (Son of the Dragon) was based off of Vlad the Impaler who was known as Dracul/Dracula. Vlad had quite the mustache and was the Voivode of Wallachia in the 15th century. The mustache may have been a symbol of distinction, but Dracula has it because Dracula had it.
I want to contribute some ideas for future videos! I’m writing my ideas below so Jazza can’t see. Monsters/Villains: 1. The wicked witch of the west from the Wizard of Oz. In the book there are a lot of interesting details to work with. 2. The Phantom of the Opera 3. The Grand High Witch from The Witches. 4. President Snow from the Hunger Games is so creepy in the book, but in the movie he just looks like a normal dude. 5. Jadis, the White Witch from the Chronicles of Narnia. 6. Miss Trunchbull from Matilda Do I like witches? It looks like I like witches. At any rate, I’d like to see some of them. Heroes: 1. Aragorn from Lord of the Rings (when we first meet him) 2. The Lorax (the description really doesn’t look like the illustration, it’s perfect) 3. Mary Poppins 4. D’Artangnan from the Three Musketeers 5. Childlike Empress from the Neverending Story Like so the producers can see! And add more ideas in the comments!
Ditto the Wicked Witch of the West, she is completely different depending which medium you see her in In the book shes kind of dumpy In the movie she's very tall and thin I haven't seen or read wicked but I assume they soften her a bit.
The first time I read Dracula I was honestly shocked at how he was described compared to the pop culture version 😂😂 I definitely like Bram Stoker’s version better than the popular one we have today
I like the essence of the story so much better than movie adaptations of it too. It struck me as a story about friendship and faith in the face of adversity, rather than simply a celebration of the monstrous.
@@timmiller1how is it about friendship? Drac routinely admits he's "a monster worse than God can fathom." Through the whole novel and that he REVELS in that fact and enjoys killing Innocents.
I'm reading Dracula at the moment, it's a really special book for me (me and my ex are really fascinated by foreign languages and it was her gift for me, since English was our favourite). And as soon as I saw the *mustache* and the Vampiric features I had absolutely no doubt in my mind who it was!
@@itsellie9239 Drac with a stash....he looks like a creepy hotel owner now to me someone who uses his "hotel" as a front to feed himself off innocent hikers and out of town people...
As much as I love the movie interpretation of Voldemort, your design is perfect and SO much more in line with what I envisioned when originally reading the books.
Not perfect. The nostrils Jazza drew were slits like a skull, not slits like a snake. The movie was much closer on that front. Given the snake motif that Voldemort goes for, that seems like a pretty big selling point for a visual depiction. The biggest thing the movie does wrong is the eyes and Jazza nailed it there
The looks of Voldemort in the Harry Potter films is not scary because they need to meet the film rating of PG to PG-13 so that even the youngsters are allowed to watch it. They need more people to buy tickets to break even. The same goes with other creatures and scary characters in other films.
Your drawing of Voldemort is almost how I pictured him. I had just started playing WoW when I read GoF so I imagined he looked like a Forsaken; rotting clothes & everything.
Yes I'm so happy you did Dracula!!!!! I suggested it because the description in the novel is quite different to what we actually see in the films. I was very interested to see what he would really look like based on that description. Thanks, Jazza!
I love how without knowing the name, Jazza completely nailed the Mindflayer so perfectly. Even the concept designs with the different hats were exactly how most Mindflayers look, each being of a different rank in their society. I give a thumbs up to this illustration.
I think one of the problems with depicting Voldemort in the movie as perfectly as you have drawn him is that Ray Fiennes isn't exactly a marathon runner frame. In addition, all the cosmetics they had to add to create the slit nose over his own expands the face even more.
I recall watching the Making of in which they said the flat slitted nose is actually cgi. On set the actor can be seen with a series of black dots marking his nose for the cgi crew to replace it with the more snake like slits.
I actually recall that they made a conscious decision to not make him as physically grotesque and monstrous as he was in the books to avoid having him feel like a cartoonish villain. They wanted to keep just enough of his humanity evident so that you always remember that as magical as he might be he’s ultimately still an extremely demented, sadistic person with a deeply twisted psychological desire to cause pain as opposed to being a cartoon monster who is just evil because he’s a scary monster.
@@DerrickVanderspoon I was thinking the same. I think that was a wise choice especially since the movies spanned over a couple of years and the audience grew up by the time the DH-2 came out. Seeing him that absurd would have definitely made most cringe like the realization that came over when twilight's audience grew up.
I freakin' LOVE your Mindflayer. Most Illithids are depicted more as wormy little grub mages than the pround, refined, dominant sorcerers that they are.
@@CrymsonNite I was 100% certain it was a mindflayer and was really looking for another more popular monster than looked like it because I thought mindflayers were a bit too obscure of a monster for this channel's audience.
I love Jazza and this series!! I keep wanting and waiting for the monsters from Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, the hollowgast. I just know he would make it look so cool and creepy!
I think originally in the sorcerer’s stone movie they had planned Quirrel to reveal a very horrifying snake-like Voldemort on the back of his head, they just cut it because they felt that a regular face back there was nightmare fuel on its own (it was for 10 year old me lol)
As someone from Romania who adores old stories about Romanian monsters, I can say that I appreciate how he portrayed Dracula, in Romanian folklore vampires are not meant to look good.
I actually thought Dracula sounded like he had, if not attractive features, certainly striking features, in a not-entirely-unpleasant manner, when I first read the book.
@@GirishManjunathMusic you are 100% correct! In the book Dracula is just described as having very striking features, not particulary handsome or ugly, though it is said the he is a very charming individual
It’s nice as an artist to learn from another artist how to sharpen and as I say “proper up” the intended figures I’m trying to draw that I couldn’t draw dwell before. Thank you for your guidance with how to better my work and characters!
It's like you picked Voldemort right from my brain - that's exactly what I pictured from the books! I'm so glad we found a middle ground for audience, creator and algorithm with this series, I love seeing you draw characters ! ❤
This really is an amazing series. To see how your brain works with your hand is incredible. I can barely draw a person or a box, let alone any of the monsters. Keep it up please.
Dude, I have always wished I could draw lol. I’m just way too right brained. Great with design and photoshop, but that’s because both things turn into a logical and “math-esque” kind of task for me. Watching you just fiddle around the pages with random sketches was awesome, yet reminded me how I can’t even get in that flow state of mind. Lol. This was an awesome series
I remember being underwhelmed by Ralph Fiennes’ Voldemort too. I was perplexed why they didn’t make his eyes red and snakelike, like the books described. Maybe Ralph didn’t take to wearing contacts very well or something.
There’s also a chance the director took that approach because they knew a lot of kids were going to watch it and didn’t want it to give too much “horror” because it’s definitely a scary description. Who knows. Red eyes and the slitted pupils totally made him in the books tho!!
Contacts for long periods of time, specifically colored contacts, can irritate eyes and in general lead to pain and sometimes conditions. Its the reason nowadays you see CGI technology replacing colored contacts. I wouldn't be surprised if the studio didn't give them the option due to this. Most times they go for actor's comfort over impressive visuals. Days of sticking piano wire up your nose and pulling it back are long, long ago. Though I will not lie, I do miss practical makeup.
My pro sketch pack just arrived and I am so excited to get started!!! I’ve loved drawing since I was little but stopped for a long time due to my depression getting the better of me. But now I’m in a much better place and am so grateful you’ve created this and your content to make me fall in love with drawing and art all over again. Thank you truly ❤
I remember watching the Harry Potter movies with my best friend as a kid. I remember that the movie interpretation of Voldemort absolutely terrified her, but I was absolutely fascinated by his appearance because he reminded me of a grey alien. Of course, I sat through movies like Alien vs Predator and The Terminator when I was around six years old, so films like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire barely fazed me.
Now I had seen it or something very similar in those comics where the monster moves into a dungeon and is actually nice to people he comes across. Like he takes in a bullied girl because she has a gift with magic. Or where he makes a cloak for that half nakked chick and gives her a hot chocolate before showing her the way out. Is that him? Because when I was watching him draw it that's all I could see 😂
I had initially said mind flayer to myself, but I will admit that the "Hat" part threw me off. Lol Like a ball cap or top hat. Had the description said "High, flaring collar with a dark hood" I wouldn't have second guessed myself. Lol
I absolutely love this series! It's great to see you bring characters/monsters from books to live, the way they were discribed. I would like to contribute a suggestion for a following video: - present day - tall humanoid creature - no pupils - irises are deep magenta or black - dark, heavy circles rimming the eyes - pallor to the skin - an almost discolored, bruised quality - teeth: look filed, coming to an unnatural point, glinting between lips that never seem to close - clothing: long black cloak Mogadorian - I am number four
Mind flayers are THE face of DND for DMs. They represent the dark evil we portray in the campaigns story, but the refined intelligence of someone toying with others for fun
1:48 - I literally read those very words in the book today, so I knew instantly who it was. My first time reading it, so fascinating to see your depiction.
I love it when we get to Draw with Jazza! These videos are always favorite. That intermission where you showed people enjoying your sketch pack felt so 90s PBS Kids lol.
I've played D&D for over half my life and your depiction of the Mind Flayer is the most accurate I've seen. Most drawing I've seen look like Cthulu in a robe (they still look badass), but your's hits the mark perfectly!
This drawing is much closer to what I imagined when reading the books as a kid than what I imagined from even the audio books or what appeared on the movies.
Love this series! Although Jazza has probably never heard of the books by German author Walter Moers, I would love to see his renditions of the characters. Especially the characters from "Rumo and His Miraculous Adventures" come to mind: Gornab the Ninety-ninth, General Tick-tock, Friftar, the Demonocles... so many to choose from! 😊
Absolutely agreed! I very rarely comment on UA-cam videos. Like less than 20 comments ever I think. Here's my 3rd on this video alone to boost engagement and help the series continue. My favourite jazza series yet.
Being a bit of a RPG nerd, as soon as I heard the description for #2, I knew exactly what it was and was very excited to see his interpretation of it. :)
"Don't wanna spoil who this might be, just in case some of you haven't guessed yet." Proceeds to put him on the thumbnail XD Great series, man. I hope to see even more monsters from you. Maybe a MtG creatures series?
Brother, you are one hell of an artist. I’ve needed inspiration for a while now, to get back into art, and you have given me that! It is a genuine pleasure to watch you work, my friend! Some of the best horror art ive seen, period, honestly. Im currently watching all of these videos you did like this, and I must say.. your Cthulhu was absolutely phenomenal!!! He is one of my favorite monsters ever, and you did him total justice! Hope you and your friends/family are doing well! Stay creative!
I love these videos. As much as I love the chaotic unknown of you trying new mediums or weird challenges and screaming in confusion and then creating a masterpiece lol, I really enjoy the stuff like this where we just get to see a wholesome and talented guy create awesome art. Which we do always see in one form or another, but you know what I mean. Compare this to the Bob Ross challenges. Which don't get me wrong, those videos got me through some depressing days, but it's just super nice to watch stuff like this too.
I recognized the first description instantly, and your first sketch was so close to perfect, I almost screamed at the computer hen you took it in a different direction. Then you more than made up for it with the illithid. Literally better than any of the official illustrations of them since Diterlizzi's iconic 2nd edition Monster Manual version. Then you gave Voldy the movie nose instead of anything even remotely snake-looking. It literally looks more like "Drawing the movie version, but more scary" than drawing according to the exact description in the book.
Voldy's nose description sort of contradicts itself because snakes all have round nostrils. Although I guess the slits could go the other way and be smaller, but based on the structure of skulls, vertical slits make the most sense.
The mustache for dracula is probably based off of Vlad the Impaler (Vlad III), which is where Stoker drew his inspiration from. Vlad III had a large mustache which are observable in his portraits.
For those of you that don’t know, originally Voldemort was going to be shown in the movies exactly as described in the books, but since they were supposed to be for children too, they had to dim him down to get the rating suitable for children too.
I LOOOOOOVE your mind-flayer! It has so much individuality and character to it! It gives it a sense of sapience that you don't seem to find in the other examples, at least in my opinion. I'm so glad you enjoy making this series as much as I enjoy seeing it.
Writing a couple suggestions below. Idk if anyone is familiar with Brandon Sanderson's work, but some of his monsters are really interesting. Specifically from Mistborn, I'd love to see Jazza's take on the Koloss or the Inquisitors.
Oooh! Some Mistborn monster stuffs would be sick! :D I'd love to see his drawing of the gelatin-bone-needing-peoples. (Can't remember the name, hell might be the Koloss lol)
I just realized so much. I too, was really disappointed at his first appearance due to this description, but after seeing your drawing I just realized what the description was- an inferi. It wasn’t so much as a snake, it was death itself, which is how I would described an inferi. Interesting how many descriptions of Death itself were in the series. For number 2- I really was thinking of stranger things, but was not smart enough to put two and two together.
My man! I just recently started reading Bram Stoker's Dracula and have been doing a few character portraits of Dracula per the literature. I was so thrown off by the mustache. I have never once in my life heard a reference to Dracula having a mustache. So happy you did this just days after I did it. Such a wonderful coincidence.
I would really love to see your take on Morgoth both before and after he steals the Silmarils and kills the Two Trees--there is a serious difference in how he is reduced in awesomeness by his evil acts, and also the Mouth of Sauron, since Peter Jackson completely couldn't be bothered to go by the description in the book.
I think a fun thing to do would be to put a bunch of descriptions of each body part in different hats and then pull out some random descriptions and create a drawing using them.
I love your style of drawing monsters. Could you use these descriptions from brazilian folklore in your style? 1 - He is often depicted as a young boy with dark skin and curly hair. One of his most distinctive features is the fact that he only has one leg, and he is often shown hopping around on a red cap known as a "carapuça." His usually portrayed wearing torn clothes and smoking a pipe. He is mischievous and known for playing pranks on people. 2 - A small, fire-haired man with backwards-facing feet. He is believed to be the protector of the forests and all the animals that live within them. His known for his fierce and wild appearance, with his hair standing on end and his eyes glowing red. He is often depicted wearing only a loincloth made of leaves and carrying a wooden club or bow and arrows. 3 - It is described as a large, hairy beast with thick, matted fur that ranges in color from brown to black. His bipedal and has long, powerful arms with huge claws. One of its most notable features is its mouth, which is said to be located on its belly. The creature is believed to emit a strong odor and is often associated with a loud, eerie cry. Legends describe him as a fearsome and dangerous creature that is best avoided.
I was so excited as you were drawing the Mind Flayer and I love your depiction! My DND party and I just faced 5 of these terrifying things AFTER just facing a huge fire giant, 3 stone giants and 2 hill giants! Our characters saw their lives flash before their eyes! Lol love this series, can’t wait to see more!
The thing about Dracula being described as having a moustache is he is based on Vlad Tepes, a Romanian ruler who is often depicted as having had bushy facial hair of the type described.
He’s also a product of his time. Mustaches, in that time period, we’re status symbols. They were seen as “manly,” and showed you had extra/disposable money to take care of them. They were (typically) heavily waxed and meticulously trimmed and shaped as the person climbed higher moneywise. Full beards, on the other hand, were indicative of poverty or laziness, since the person doesn’t have the money to just throw away on a facial accessory like that.
I was going to suggest Dracula! When I finally read the book for the first time last year, I was really struck by how different our collective concept of the character is despite how very specific Stroker was in his description. The novel takes place over a fairly long period, during which we know he changes in appearance, so who's to say ol' Drac doesn't eventually look more like Spirit Halloween's interpretation, but this is much closer to the version of the character that Jonathon Harker first meets in act I
You should consider selling scans of some of your artwork as posters. I would definitely immediately buy a poster of this Voldemort and of your Balrog from the other video
Voldemorts face before what it is now(in the movie) was way more more then what it is now. The reason why they changed it it’s cuz they would think it’s nit children appropriate and too scary. You can look up on Google what he looked b4
Personally I'll disagree, the more human look just feels right to me, a sort of humanity worn on a monster is scarier to me, but then again I live in the United States. We already have snakes in human skin called politicians.
Ngl, kinda disappointed with the Voldemort drawing. Looks like a pale red skull, lowkey. Like, really good art, I can't do anything like that, but a little... anticlimactic.
Your dracula looks really cool. I suspect the differences between the book and various movie incarnations have to do with the cultural norms for men in the different eras. In the 1800s, facial hair was in style but had largely fallen out of favor by the 50s and 60s when the early tv and movie versions first came on the scene.
I've been waiting for this series to get to Dracula! He's such a prime example of a character who looks completely different in most adaptations from how the book described him.
Oh I really wanna see more mythological creatures drawn from Jazza. Those are some of my favorite ones. The Hopkinsville Goblin was also a favorite. (That was in the character drawing challenge)
First time in the series I guessed some monster right. :) The Dracula description reminded me apart from the mustache to Count Orlock, played by Max Schreck in the 1922 Nosferatu. Which is technically a Dracula Movie, they just renamed the characters to try not to get sued. The Mindflayer was easy to guess as an old AD&D player. Your design is closer to the older illustrations from the 80s and 90s. Like it a lot. The Harry Potter things always catch me off guard as I never read the books, and only casually watched the movies. My guess on Voldemort was for a Ghul or similar from some horror comic
I was so stoked that I guessed the first two without much trouble at all. I LOVE mindflayers. they are so much fun. you nailed that during your sketching. it was so amazing.
14:09 BINGO. Books, V was calm, cool, collected. In charge. Dangerously quiet. The only person who rattled him into a panicked frenzy was Dumbledore. And eventually Harry once the H were destroyed.
I knew it was Dracula before you finished reading the description. I think he likely had a bushy mustache because he was a nobleman and that was probably normal for them during that era. When the book was adapted to film in the 1930s there was probably a preference for clean shaven men in cinema, and despite the fact that few people today have seen that film everyone has seen the films that were influenced by it directly or a film that was influenced by another film that was influenced by it.
Mr. Hyde should be included in one of these. I was quite surprised by his description in the book, because he is just a human, even shorter than Dr. Jekill, but it was his pure evil personality that made him a monster.
Oh man. There was a series called Children’s Illustrated Classics when I was a kid, and the drawings of Jekyll turning into Hyde gave me nightmares. Thanks for the memory!
I love how I hadn't even read half the hints for the mindflayer when I already knew what it was going to be! :D the description is really good and you absolutely nailed it!! And I really liked the other ones, too! I'd love to see this become somewhat of a series!
It'd be really interesting to see a cryptid episode in this series! I'd love to see his interpretation of mothman or something based on vague descriptions
Oh my god, yes, I love Mothman. I would love to see Jazza's interpretation- most artists I've noticed seem to largely ignore the 'moth' aspect and make him more bird/batlike, in terms of the wings at least
It would be cool if you released a description for us fans to have a go and send them in or have a special hash tag or something 😁😁 Also poor valdy, he really did look a bit sad in the movies 🤣
I'd like to see you do the monsters/characters from Disney stories as they were meant to be, like the Snow Queen from Hans Christian Anderson or Maui from Samoan or Pacific Islander's legends (especially since you live in Australia). It would be cool to see you do Sher Kahn from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book or any of the Greek titans from Hercules (Cyclops, Minotaur, etc...), or even the Jabberwock(y) from Alice in Wonderland. I'd also like to see some monsters from the imaginations of J.K. Rowling - think Bowtruckle or Goblins (D'n'D type or Harry Potter type) or Suzanne Collins - think Muttations from The Hunger Games or the sewer things (can't remember what they're called) from the 3rd book. I'd also like to see how you treat the characters from Lemony Snicket or the Hunger Games or characters/monsters from other role-playing games, such as Rifts, Savage Worlds, or the Cthulu universe. Then there are the monsters from classic old movies, such as the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Phantom of the Opera, Godzilla, or Nosferatu. You have a great way of putting the words together to create something that is both recognizable, and just your own, and I would love to see some of these characters/monsters Jazza-tized! LOL!
I’d love to see you draw some monsters from Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere books. Like the Voidbringers from Stormlight Archive or the Shades from Shadows for Silence. Or the dragon Xisisrefliel from Tress and the Emerald Sea or the Nightmares from Yumi and the Nightmare Painter.

Also in Bram Stoker’s novel, Dracula doesn’t die in the sun. It only eliminates his ability to shapeshift.
Honestly I love that the book's description of Dracula actually does cause my mind to think of his inspiration, that being Vlad the Impaler, who if you changed his hair to white, did have long hair, that was thick except for near his forehead where it had thinned, and had quite the prominent moustache
I would never want this series to end!! Really good to see jazza draw and we get to see just how skilled he is, which is hard coz algorithm sucks

Old gentlemanly creepiness is exactly how Dracula is in the first act of the book. He keeps up the pretense of just being a kind host long after the John Harker realizes something dangerously supernatural is going on. By the end of that part, it’s almost mocking. You nailed it.
Careful you have a scam bot.
@@MiSmallVidswe have vanquished it!
Yeah, I think we mostly recognize his younger look? I'm not sure, I haven't read the book but I've heard about it
@@SebasTian58323 Strongly recommend doing so.
@@vojtechjanda9684 I'll get it on audiobook, I'm usually too busy doing other stuff to read, and I know the book is long
I am really enjoying this series!
I wonder if the charming nature is why Hollywood opted for a more elegant Dracula look, so there isn’t that sort of mismatch
If that was your dissertation, I can't imagine how useless your degree must be.
Well I'm thinking maybe also because it is based a bit on Vlad Dracul (the impaler) who had a big bushy moustache. ;)

I absolutely loved the Ilithid, "Mind Flayer." I knew what it was from tentacles, but I thought your version was amazing.
I think a monster like the Grievers from the first maze runner book would be really fun to do because their description is so vague and creepy and who knows what you might end up interpreting it as… also love this series so much❤❤❤
This would be brilliant. I don't think jazzas version would look anything like the TV version using the book description from book one.
I have always wondered what they might look like!!
I can’t wait for him to get to draw a griever, me and my friend love how strange they are in the books
Not to mention the historical Dracula had quite a mustache.
I actually quite enjoy the image of Dracula with a full, bushy beard over his descriptively chiseled jaw
And you gotta remember that nobody asked
@@flatstheflounder338 and you gotta remember, that alot of people are assholes without a reason
14:12 I love that he said he doesn't want to spoil it and then just puts it in the thumbnail 😂
ikr i just got to that part and it made me laugh
I want to contribute some ideas for future videos!
I’m writing my ideas below so Jazza can’t see.
Monsters/Villains:
1. The wicked witch of the west from the Wizard of Oz. In the book there are a lot of interesting details to work with.
2. The Phantom of the Opera
3. The Grand High Witch from The Witches.
4. President Snow from the Hunger Games is so creepy in the book, but in the movie he just looks like a normal dude.
5. Jadis, the White Witch from the Chronicles of Narnia.
6. Miss Trunchbull from Matilda
Do I like witches? It looks like I like witches. At any rate, I’d like to see some of them.
Heroes:
1. Aragorn from Lord of the Rings (when we first meet him)
2. The Lorax (the description really doesn’t look like the illustration, it’s perfect)
3. Mary Poppins
4. D’Artangnan from the Three Musketeers
5. Childlike Empress from the Neverending Story
Like so the producers can see! And add more ideas in the comments!
Great ideas!! Especially Miss trunchbull... I remember her scaring the shit out of me hahah
TRANSFORMERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ditto the Wicked Witch of the West, she is completely different depending which medium you see her in
In the book shes kind of dumpy
In the movie she's very tall and thin
I haven't seen or read wicked but I assume they soften her a bit.
Omh, yes, the Phantom! Do you mean just Eric without the mask or with a mask though?
Ooo I love the idea of miss trunchbull and the Lorax
The first time I read Dracula I was honestly shocked at how he was described compared to the pop culture version 😂😂
I definitely like Bram Stoker’s version better than the popular one we have today
I like the essence of the story so much better than movie adaptations of it too. It struck me as a story about friendship and faith in the face of adversity, rather than simply a celebration of the monstrous.
Agreed
Hellsing ultimate. All I have to say

The biggest thing the movie does wrong is the eyes and Jazza nailed it there
@@danreyn Fair enough. A blend of both would be perfect haha. I think both are great interpretations! :)
The one in the movie just looks as if he had a bad nose job. hahaha
Didn't read the book and didn't link it with a snake tbh, just looked like he lost his nose
Yet the mindflayer was the easiest to know by the description.
Loved they added a D&D monster.
From the description and heck most of the drawing I though it was Cthulhu, or some other lovecraftian creation
I thought Captain Barbossa 😂
@@victoriam6569 I think you mean Davy jones, barbossa was the skeleton from the first one
@DerrickVanderspoon that's probably also why he doesn't have red eyes, having red eyes for the bad guy would feel very on the "nose"
@@EmeraldVideosNL that certainly explains why it looks so fake and pretty bad
@@DerrickVanderspoon I was thinking the same. I think that was a wise choice especially since the movies spanned over a couple of years and the audience grew up by the time the DH-2 came out. I think originally in the sorcerer’s stone movie they had planned Quirrel to reveal a very horrifying snake-like Voldemort on the back of his head, they just cut it because they felt that a regular face back there was nightmare fuel on its own (it was for 10 year old me lol)
His face in the Sorcerer's stone is really close to his actual form

This is getting out of hand there are a lot of scams on here
There’s also a chance the director took that approach because they knew a lot of kids were going to watch it and didn’t want it to give too much “horror” because it’s definitely a scary description.

I really like these cause I can guess before Jazza even starts. But then his imagination goes wild and he go so far and beyond my imagination!
I love how Jazza didn't know what D&D Mindflayers were, but his illustration came so close to the actual thing
He did know what they were, he just didn't know what they were called.
The depiction was spot on idd
"The actual thing" 😂
I would like to contribute a suggestion for a following video:
- present day
- tall humanoid creature
- no pupils
- irises are deep magenta or black
- dark, heavy circles rimming the eyes
- pallor to the skin - an almost discolored, bruised quality
- teeth: look filed, coming to an unnatural point, glinting between lips that never seem to close
- clothing: long black cloak
Mogadorian - I am number four
The mind flayer looks almost exactly like the Bauldur's Gate 3 ones. Man's imagination is on a whole other level
Mind flayers are THE face of DND for DMs. They represent the dark evil we portray in the campaigns story, but the refined intelligence of someone toying with others for fun

I LOVE your Mindflayer. It perfectly matches the personality I've always gotten off of them
The mustache for dracula is probably based off of Vlad the Impaler (Vlad III), which is where Stoker drew his inspiration from. Vlad III had a large mustache which are observable in his portraits.
For those of you that don’t know, originally Voldemort was going to be shown in the movies exactly as described in the books, but since they were supposed to be for children too, they had to dim him down to get the rating suitable for children too.
Also the amount of make up on his face was already SOOOO much beforehand and with all of the extra details, the actor wouldn’t be able to talk
Also they stated that with slitted eyes they could get emotions “seen” visually.. like anger or fear without a normal pupil
I like that they went with a more subtle look. Monsters aren't monsters because they look angry and ugly, they are monsters because of their actions.
Wasn’t the Witches movie starring Anjelica Huston also made for children? Obviously they didn’t mind giving kids nightmares back then.
Return to oz and never-ending story laugh at their weakness
It's just not fair how easy you make it look 😭

I just realized so much. I too, was really disappointed at his first appearance due to this description, but after seeing your drawing I just realized what the description was- an inferi. It wasn’t so much as a snake, it was death itself, which is how I would described an inferi. Interesting how many descriptions of Death itself were in the series. For number 2- I really was thinking of stranger things, but was not smart enough to put two and two together.
We need a spin-off of this series where fans submit character designs and Jazza draws them
The historical figure that gave him his name has a magnificent one
The Marvel Dracula used to have one. I miss it, it gave him character.

I think a fun thing to do would be to put a bunch of descriptions of each body part in different hats and then pull out some random descriptions and create a drawing using them.
i love your idea, hope he sees this!
Can you imagine if Voldemort did look like that in the movies. So much nightmare fuel.
Voldemorts face before what it is now(in the movie) was way more more then what it is now. The reason why they changed it it’s cuz they would think it’s nit children appropriate and too scary. You can look up on Google what he looked b4

Man what I would do for this guy's art skill, its truely incredible.
I usually hate watching people draw but you make it interesting and fun
I’d love to see Jazza’s depiction of a Xenomorph 😍
Why? It's a dick with teeth.
Please keep doing these! They're really fun!
Oh I really wanna see more mythological creatures drawn from Jazza. Those are some of my favorite ones. The Hopkinsville Goblin was also a favorite. (That was in the character drawing challenge)
really like the series, i think it would be fun to include an AI sketch of the monster description and compare it against your design
First time in the series I guessed some monster right. :)
The Dracula description reminded me apart from the mustache to Count Orlock, played by Max Schreck in the 1922 Nosferatu.
This dude captures whatever the authors imagination describes and its pretty darn good👍👍
14:09 BINGO. Books, V was calm, cool, collected. In charge. Dangerously quiet. The only person who rattled him into a panicked frenzy was Dumbledore. And eventually Harry once the H were destroyed.
These sketches on paper with all the rough are so much better than the digital ones . They feel more authentic genuine and artistic imho
@@Tonyhouse1168 can you get me a link, I'd love to see that
Yaaaaaassss
I actually guessed Mr Hyde for the first one.
I was 100% sure that what turned out to be Dracula was actually Mr. Hyde.
Holy. Schnikes. This is like black magic. Illustrators have always blown my mind apart. And Jazza is world class.
It would be cool if you released a description for us fans to have a go and send them in or have a special hash tag or something 😁😁
Also poor valdy, he really did look a bit sad in the movies 🤣
LOL!
You have to make some from wheel of time. Trollocs, myrdraal etc.
Loving this series!!
I’d love to see how he does a Koloss
I am soo happy that Tom Riddle popped up in this series! I thought the thumbnail was clickbait but I am beyond happy that it isn't
BRO I THOUGHT NUMBER 2 WAS DAVY JONES
I thought it was cthullu
