I can't believe that it's been over 50 years since my first night on Lackland AFB. Back then the new arrivals were referred to as Rainbows as everyone arrived in their civilian clothes of all different colors. There was no channel such as yours to give us a heads up on whats coming but still we made it. I didn't know then that one day I'd look back on it all with great fondness. I feel very priviledged to have been a member of the USAF.
I am currently in the Air Force DEP and I am waiting for my contract and a ship date but I am doing quick shipping in hopes to ship earlier than my ship date. Your videos really help and I’ve come to terms with not knowing every single thing that happens at bmt, although I am studying everything I can learn now. Thanks for the videos!! Keep it up👌🏽

I went through over 20yrs ago, so with the exception of our basic being six weeks instead of eight, not being allowed to have cell phones, & the lack of having a Warrior Week....everything sounds about the same. I still remember the first MTI we had that gave a friendly greet us upon arriving to the 322nd. He looked like an extremely pissed off Vanilla Ice. I think his name was SSgt Bowls if I remember correctly. Extremely informative video for those that are about to ship out. Keep up the good work.

The civilian bag/luggage/gym-bag that you take with you to Air Force BMT, after the zero night can you keep it with you or does it go to common storage?
its after you have been there for about a week, at least that is how it was for us, every flight has appointments different days and times nothing is for sure, trust me you'll go lol
You march with your flight to this other non running older squadron, it's pretty far from the other buildings. You go in with your flight and you wait in line for quite some time with your flight and then eventually you make your way to the front and a civilian worker will come grab you and take you to this big bathroom filled with other trainees taking pee tests. Then you pee just like at meps while someone watches, they just kind of watch from behind you or aside you. Then you grab your cup and give it to someone and you walk back outside and wait for the rest of your flight. Sounds easy but when you have 60 dudes waiting to pee and 15 of them can't go it takes a while. You usually wait if you cant go, as in you wait there, you drink water until you have to go and the flight waits for you. If you are taking a super long time then you might have to go back but typically everyone pees.
Can you make a video about your experience at tech school so far? (or at least touch upon it in a video) Like, how "hard" is it? How much do you have to study? that kind of stuff.

Honestly, I am not sure, best thing to do is probably try to lose the weight and then gain it back after, but it really is all up to what your recruiter wants :/ There are just certain things you have to do to get in ya know

Not the first call you make, you just have to inform someone you made it there safe. The rest of the calls yes if you can do it in the time frame that they set for you.
David Mercado you dont really do anything on sundays they are down days for the most part. You can go to services if you want to. Every flight has an MTI the first sunday to show them what to do, but after the first they are on there own. The only thing you do is clean like regular, but besides that you sit in the dorm all day and roll and fold your clothes

Joey Chaparro enlisted then married my fiance after tech school. To an extent you put duty before your wife but honestly if you can't balance your life enough to have family time you don't need to be married anyways. Also the air force is easy as hell so it's not hard to have time for family.
