- JAS39A Gripen is quickly becoming my favourite plane.
It can carry up to 720 FLARES. Air Superiority update introduced more opponents with IRCCM and this unholy amount of countermeasures makes life so much easier.
Gripen has extreme flight performance overall. Good energy retention, absurd instantaneous turn on 600-800 kph and decent engine. As a bonus Gripen doesn't consume a lot of fuel, so flying with minimal load and a drop tank is definitely possible on smaller maps.
Unfortunately JAS39A can only carry Skyflash FOX-1s, meaning it's not competitive in that regard. RB74(M) paired with HMD behaves as expected - annihilates everything it can reach. In my experience 27mm cannon has random damage and rarely destroys opponents outright.

letting you all in a little secret, if you research the 'Flare/chaff BOL' it will let you equip the RB74Ms (aim9ms) even if you havent unlocked them. makes the grind faster!

Idk if its just me or of anyone else has noticed but the gripen is insanely loud compared to every other jet. Spectating or even just having it fly by is like what the hell was that.
Feels like it’s the same sound mixing issue as of when Mirage 2000 was added.
Not sure if it's true, but apparently the ground belts shred on those guns (tornado uses them too). That strange new shell type does a LOT of damage to pretty much anything it hits, tanks included lol.
Its supposed to be supersonic bullet produced by sweden that 50%heavier than nato shells and going 300-400m/s more than normal nato ammos but it just deal more dmg but dont have more velocity sad
What are the best planes to grind Sweden?
If you're willing to spend any money, it's the J35XS. But wait for the winter sale (if its on sale). Pretty quick and easy grind.

Only if Viper makes mistakes and stays too slow or too fast. If F-16C stays at 650-700 kph Gripen should die in prolonged rate fight.

Do you think the gripen is better than the su 27?
Yes
From limited amount of games I played I can say just because of the amount of flares on Gripen it has an easier time in current fast-paced environment. Also it holds energy extremely well compared to Su-27 right now, which unfortunately has strange flight model. But 10 missiles is 10 missiles so I can’t say that Su-27 is definitely worse. I have to fly those planes more extensively to form a coherent opinion.
The su-27 is "good" in the sense that it gets 10 of objectively the best missiles in the game, take those away and it gets wrecked in a dogfight with every other jet unless the su-27 is min fuel with no missiles and the dogfight is slowspeed, other than that every other plane gets on it's 6 immediately
who tf only takes 9 mins of fuel
