    good to hear about all of the prep and thing you did to make sure it would be fine-- easily overlooked. I learned a bit. Thank you!

    Don't be afraid to let the oil level drop a bit... i've seen engines that stop losing oil level when they get down there. Let them "find their own level" Great video!

      Thanks. I figured out why I was going though so much. Since this video its slowed to about half a qt in 1000 miles. I had a catch can hooked up to the breather tube, but the inlet and exit necked down so much it was causing excessive crankcase pressure pushing oil out. Once I removed it, the rate of losing oil dropped off like crazy. I guess we live and learn

    I have a 99 Cummins 4x4 deleted the fan clutch now running electric fans. I installed a k27 turbo with 120 HP injectors K&n intake and banks intake manifold. Edge ez tuner new transmission with a ATS five clutch torque converter tranny temps stay at 160 degrees all day towing the torque converter bites no slippage whatsoever. Running a 7 inch lift with 35x15.50r22 . I get average of 16 on the freeway towing 5300lbs . I also developed a rear main leak I run 15-40 delo and 2quarts of Lucas oil stop leak no leaks for now next month I will be replacing the rear main..

    I have an 01 dually six speed with well over 400,000 miles. Bought it new. Original owner. Nothing done to the engine. Runs great like the day I bought brand new. Lol. Shit far it leaks oil. But when i have that many miles on me I'm sure I'll have leaks also. Ole truck has been great though. Still have it today. 2022

    Hi buddy great truck I got a 2001 24-valve myself 2 wheel drive long bed I want to upgrade my factory stereo where did you get your stereo from the touch screen with navigation what's the name of it thank you

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  3 роки тому

      Kenwood Excelicon DMX706S is what I have in the truck. It doesnt have navigation directly, I use android auto and it pulls it from my phone. Just be aware, using a full size double din like I did requires cutting the dash core to make it fit, or just sliding it in until the core cracks... which is what I did by mistake. But it's in and it works, so whatever. Hope that helps.

    I just took my all stock 24v 5 speed to the tracks as well. Total drive was around 600. Stayed around 55 but65 tops. Towed my Z which weighs around 3210 and a Uhaul trailer. I avg round trip to be 15.3. Mainly flat roads but I did climb the Tehachapi mountains.

    what kind of lift/tire size did you have in this video? i like the stance of it, i have a 2wd also and as you know, theres not a whole lot we can do to raise it very much!

      I had the supreme suspension front 3in leveling spring blocks. The actual spacer size is only 1.5" but it did the trick. Then factory size tires.

    You gotta remember theres alot of oil in the top end and it can take more than just a couple mins for oil to drip back into the pan.

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  3 роки тому

      Maybe, but not that much in my experience with checking it often. Never seen it go up the dip stick after letting it sit.

    Change your ambient air temp sensor…that’s also why your temp display isn’t reading correctly …this will also give the engine a richer fuel mixture because it thinks it’s cold outside thus a lose of fuel economy

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  3 роки тому

      The engine has a seperate sensor, intake air temp, that it uses for that, I can see it on my scan gauge. I also know it's working properly because the grid heater only comes on when it's cold and not every start. As for the cabin display yes, that's the only thing the ambient air temp is used for.

    Hey, did your brush guard come with your truck when you got it? If not, where did you get it from? Yours is exactly what I am looking for. I have a 2wd 1500 and I want a brush guard styled like yours since they don't weigh nearly as much as a full replacement bumper. Thanks!

    Random question, I was told by a shop to take the crankcase vent bottle off and run a tube about 2 feet long to atmosphere. I've done that since. What exactly was causing your oil usage?

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  3 роки тому

      I had put on a catch can that didnt have enough venting creating some back pressure, I have a few bad seals still, so it was pushing it out those. Mainly the oil pan seal, tapper cover, and a little out the front main. Now with just a tube It still leaks because i have not changed out the oil pan gasket, but it's at a much more manageable rate, maybe half a qt over 1000 miles

    Towing in OD burns the converter that's why it's not recommend. I know from experience lol

    • @AllThingsBoost
      @AllThingsBoost  3 роки тому

      Interesting, I wouldnt think it would because the converter is locked up in OD, usually it burns the clutches because of weak factory line pressure

      @@nicksteen884 makes sense. I originally thought you were commenting on the video I put out the other day on towing with the built transmission that's now in the truck. But I see this one was pre trans swap. On mine what failed first was the OD clutches, after going through some mountains compounded with a trans line leak it started slipping on me. During the tear down I did see the converter was a rebuild from 2019, and the trans was replaced in 06 I believe with low mialage one out of a 2000 truck. I'm just glad to have a trans that I don't need to worry about anymore, dodge really dropped the ball on the 47re components in stock form.
