Any metal fan knows that Metal takes a lot from classical music and opera and anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant. I've met a couple of metal heads who were into classical music.

People who thumbed down, are just jealous of the fact that they can't do this.. I'm so in love with her capability of her voice, I've seen her live with ReVamp a couple of years ago
The amazing thing is she sang that to an audience full of metalheads and got that awesome response. 2:00 There’s your thumbnail right there. Look at that smile, She knows she absolutely nailed it. What an incredible woman.

People who were expecting better technical aspects from her singing are ridiculous. Floor gived up trying to sing Opera/Oratorio/Lieder and anything else "Classical" years ago. Her love always were Musical Theatre and Rock/Metal. If you search her story you will find that she studied MT and Pop/Rock at the Conservatory Of Tilburg, while there she had some classes of Opera but not enough to anyone to call her an Opera singer.
Can anyone explain me why idiots go to concerts just so they can talk to each other while the band/singer is performing?? It's not only disrespectful, but also spoils the experience for others (and in some cases even recordings like this one)
I agree with you except for your last sentence. It is my believe that Tuomas has challenged her with her already great soft singing. I think that she has stronger soft singing now, but I agree that he needs to use Floor's full range of singing, he has now on-board the best singer in the world.
yes, i like it too and would enjoy it at a concert. but have you been at a festival once? people there are mostly drunk as fuck and just wanna go crazy. most of them have no sense for classical music at this point... :D
Dunno. Mozart is difficult-there are only a hand full sopranos on this planet who can sing the queen like it's supposed to be done (Dessay,Damrau and a couple others). Don't get me wrong. I love Floor and she's wonderful, but she's not a Opera singer and probably doesn't even want to be one (otherwise, she wouldn't do metal). She certainly has the talent and vocal qualities a classical singer needs, but lacks the excessive training and practice.
I would agree only in the sense she likes all the other ranges and genres she can do with her wonderful gift and would rather do that than be constricted into one (opera) area. I have no doubt if she wanted to she could be a great opera singer but she is having too much fun doing all the duets, collaborations and Nightwish material to apply her talents to that one particular area.
