  • Introducing the X470, the world’s first fully 3D printed hydraulic excavator model. At a 1/16 scale, it features a complete functional hydraulic system; including the 3D printed pump, valves, and pistons.
With over 1.5 years of development, the X470 was designed to prove that a functional hydraulic excavator can be made entirely with FDM 3D printing technology. This model is part of our TWYN line of fully 3D printed heavy vehicle scale models.
    Key Features:
First-of-its-kind hydraulic system: Fully 3D printed pump, valves, and pistons.
Powerful Performance: The X470 can lift up to 1.5 kg with its arm fully extended, with each piston generating 12 kg of force.
Robust Design: Structural rigidity achieved without metal plates, utilizing PLA and good design for strength.
Accurate Hydraulic Seal: Glass bed-printed mating surfaces for improved hydraulic integrity.
Motors: High-quality BLDC motors used for the pump, swing, and tracks, with travel motors powered via a 4-pin audio jack.
Realistic Cabin: Detailed cockpit with functional cabin and work lights.
Power System: 4S LiFePo4 battery that doubles as the counterweight for the excavator.
Filament requirements: Esun PLA in 5 colors (Orange, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Transparent, White and Black). No painting required!
    Weight: 3.8kg

The development of X470 took much longer than expected, due to the fact that this has never been achieved before with desktop 3D printing.
Special thanks to our supporters at BuyMeACoffee for their continued support throughout the development of our projects. Even when we weren't posting much updates these guys still supported us. Huge thanks fellas✌
Also thanks to jlcpcb.com for providing the Control PCB for this project.

Thanks my friend!! The 3D printed hydraulic system is the highlight of this model, that's why we didn't want to sell that alone

@RamBrosWorkshop it absoluetly is. I'd like to adapt it to my models, so that's why I am asking only about the hydraulic system.

Huge congrats, saw your earlier videos and the progress is great! glad you got up to 10 bar with that pump, but perhaps your bldc would need some gearing? they are stronger when moving fast, and just 2x1 reduction would increase your power drastically for next bigger projects.
    other than this, kudos

Thanks my friend! In the test shown in the video the pump only ran at 10% power, so the power of the motor is no the limit. The pump has potential more than 10 bar (you can see it easily over shoot), but currently our valves can handle only 10 bar reliably.

Great work! Super impressive to see such a cohesive design that performs well, especially with hydraulics + FDM. Also, thanks for sharing your new BLDC driver design, I hope I can find a good excuse to get a few!
