No, it was not legit. That season in the NHL there were countless goals disallowed for the very same play a foot in the crease. The only reason it counted was it was like in the 3rd OT of the game I believe, and the Stars were already celebrating. The league didn't have the guts to review it and reverse the call.
Hull was not at fault on this call. It was the NHL - which bent the rules & broke them in order to make Dallas the champion & advance its 'Sunbelt Strategy' to expand and increase its share in the US Southern states. The NHL also trashed the game by changing foot in the crease rule to legitimize Dallas Stanley cup 'win'. And since then, goaltenders are having their careers shortened by players taking runs at them in the crease.
Why would you show a picture of Brett with Cocaine ? Then you laud his talents. What crap !
My problem with Hull was he should play for Canada in international hockey
Hull's game/Cup winning goal was legit.
As a Yank, I'm proud of what he accomplished for USA hockey in international play.
Kudos to Hull.
It 100% was NO goal.

He has the winning medal to prove it was.

The League said it was legit as do the record books and that's good enough for me.
