GPS and Depth finder FX ski mounting

This is how I added a Echomap plus 44cV to my 2021 FX SHO cruiser. I always see the debate between this and the striker, but remember the striker does not have maps, so all you basically get is a blank screen with your line drawn of the path you took. Yes could be used to get back where you started, but I find the maps so much more useful than I thought I would, but to each their own.
I removed the stock lower mount from the Echomap (at the pivot joint) then drilled a hole in that joint to put a bolt through it to attach to a ram mount. Over time this did crack the mount on the echomap at this joint, because it was not meant for this type of clamping force (originally there were teeth to keep it from rotating, so it did not have to be as tight, now just relys on friction to keep it from rotating). I took the mount apart and filled the inside of this joint with JBWeld, so it was not hollow, and this allowed me to clamp on it better, and I have not had a problem since.

this allows you to still keep your cup holders (or use speakers) as well as add 2 ram mounts
