PRO TIP: You'll find that if you extend the pinky finger when tilting back the glass it will improve the aerodynamics (much like the fin on the end of an aircraft wing) and further enhance the aromas.
I work in front of a computer all day, so the last thing I want to do when I'm done is to park in front of another screen to watch tv or play video games. My son doesn't get it. Now that you said that, maybe my dream job wouldn't be in research and development for a distillery
😂 lol! That’s how old I am?? I drank coffee at the first Starbucks in Seattle when it was a local coffee shop and the only one. That’s how old I am!!! Love our videos and info’s. Keep it up guys.
My wife also hates most of my drinks I "force" her to try. She has a wonderful way of telling me her disapproval of said drink. Recently she described my drink, Highland Park 12yr, as sweat from Satan's under carriage.
I just purchased a batch 7 version at my local store, and I am now watching a review. Batch 7 is 120.2 proof. Good to see Rex with you in a past episode I am just watching March 2024
That Bulleit Bourbon is some of the best I've ever tasted. I'm 72 years old now and I've been drinking all kinds of alcoholic drinks for almost fifty years, and the best tasting bourbon I ever tasted is 'Angel's Envy.' But this Bulleit Bourbon runs a close second.
Bulleit Bourbon Barrel Proof is my favorite bourbon..love the peppercorn after taste. Caramel to honey to oak with a peppercorn after taste. Oh and on ice it holds up very well.
Thanks for the review. I grabbed a bottle of the Bulleit to try and wasn't disappointed. Generally I've only liked their Rye but this one is pretty good. It's not going to knock my 1920 off the shelf, but it's nice to have some barrel proof variety.
While not flared to accommodate your nose, the libbey single malt glass is like a wider glencairn and no longer has the problem Rex describes about hitting your nose while sipping.
I have been binge watching these ever since I found this, and I have a spouse that says similar to what Rob said. She says that Ardbeg smells like medical grade antiseptic. LOL
Bulleit started my journey to drinking Bourbon neat & on the rocks instead of only in cocktails and mixed drinks. It all happened in a hotel room at the Mariott Marquis in San Francisco when me and some former colleagues and still friends went to GDC (game developers conference). What a time we had and so many drinks. Good times.
My girlfriend HATES whiskey. The smell of my Laphroaig makes her gag and she gets nauseous. She claims it smells a tire factory had a sewage leak and then caught on fire. Do I still love her? Of course. Do I still drink my whiskey and make her smell it every time I pour one up? You bet.
We just reviewed the new Barrell American Vatted Malt. Look forward to ylur thoughts on it. After going to back to the capped glass the next morning a nice chocolate has showed up to go along with the rest of the notes in the video m
Nah, the boys have talked about it before, they tend to enjoy things with a bit of complexity and challenge in them. I'm with them these days too. Sometimes its fun to have to actually THINK about breathing after you've taken a sip, all part of the fun!
He said he likes it, don’t think he would lie. It’s a barrel strength so of course it’s going to be a kick in the face. He had to take it in the face to experience it fully lol
Some whishey-tubers think the the latest Bulleit Bourbon products are distilled by Four Roses. I may just be passing along bad info. Bulleit Rye is still the 95% rye from MGP. (Love it)
Oh, btw 'Leg'... the cask strength may be yours; BUT,... if you want my bottles, you will have to come to Australia to get them, cos they are my jam too! 😁
Rex mumbled Bulleit Bourbon, and youtube captioned it as "Bullet Burger" and I rewound the video and he legit says bullet burger, or berber, something to that effect. I suspect Rex was mooching epicly before this was filmed lol.
You mentioned how similar the Barrel Bourbon tasted like the George Dickel. I’ve always wondered has it ever been the case or is the case somewhere that two different distilleries have effectively made the same whiskey? Now I know there are many variables. So I’m thinking this would have to happen with neighbouring distilleries who may use the same source of water, source of grain, barrels and use the same recipe and will have almost identical external environmental influences. Given the concentration of distilleries in the Speyside region could this have ever happened there? Or would neighbouring distilleries ensure they spoke to each other to ensure sources and recipes differed enough?
For Rex's customized nose bridge snifter glass, I've got two words for you - "duct tape, baby!" Duct tape that glass to hell and back. And add a straw to make refilling it easier.
Greg Vangsness here. So is Barrell Bourbon essentially doing what The Scotch Malt Whiskey Society is doing, or are the latter another level of relationship with the distiller's? 😊
It's hard to find any good whiskey here. Everyone just drinks Jack and Charter. I found me a bottle of four roses finally after hunting for a while. Good stuff. Ancient Age has to be one of my favorites. Just easy to drink with 7up or sprite. Also, on the tea note, sweet iced tea with peach crown royal is a hella refreshing drink. It soothes the soul.
Y'all should review Noble Oak. I bought it and Caol Ila 12 while on a day trip in Nashville. Probably the fruitiest bourbon I've ever tried that wasn't artificially flavored. I would ship a bottle but Alabama liquor laws prevent me to send or receive alcohol in the mail.
Hey Daniel and Rex love your guy's video. Being from Suriname the most popular brand of whiskey here is Johnny Walker. i like black label and the platinum label but i wanna explore other whiskeys that are similar but that have more complexity. any suggestions?
I am so envious of your ability to taste all this stuff and differentiate flavors. I try but never have the orgasmic experience you two express. I get iodine in Mama Cass’s bathwater 99% of the time. You guys old enough to know who she was?
Have you ever looked at any rums? Such as the 21 year reserve rum from el dorada. I was able to get it and its amazing. Just saying. Maybe something different. You guys are the best. Thanks Bjwilli
I just picked up a bottle of this Bulleit Barrel Strength. It’s the first Bulleit I’ve bought... as reg Bulleit has always been the hipster drink of choice - $50 seemed like a good price for a special edition. Should I even mess with picking up the reg bottle? What is with not knowing who sources it?
Would love to see a review on Evan Williams BIB. It’s a budget favorite for a lot of the tribe and has made appearances on both channels but has never really gotten a real tasting
“Tender young chickadee” haha I fuckin busted out laughing Oh and recently I bought a holiday gift set of bulleit bourbon that came with two free glasses which were smaller sized and oval which perfectly fits your nose. Best glass ever.
Comment on Corryvreckan is pretty great! I try to describe it to my non-Scotch friends as, imagine a sandwich made from a piece of freshly "tanned in urine" leather between two asphalt shingles with burnt hydraulic oil dipping sauce. To my surprise no one is interested in trying it - they just don't get it.
I want to be able to like and enjoy Bulleit but after what they did to their daughter I cannot support them until she is made whole. If you want to learn more about the situation look up Hollis B. Worth (formerly Hollis Bulleit). Edit: Actually, I don't think I could ever support and enjoy Bulleit again. I just now heard about the most recent development in the story: Bulleit Bourbon's founder steps back as brand's face amid daughter's abuse claims
I am just starting to buy a variety of whiskey. My girlfriend is already telling me to stop. I only have about 10 bottles so far. Still need to buy an Islay
Daniel and Rex...I would greatly appreciate it if you two would do a birthday toast for me, For September 10th, is my Name Day (Game of Thrones reference). Old Forrester 1920 would be nice.
Am I the only person that looks at the vault 1.0 with all of the duplicates and yet to be reviewed whiskies and think, “ My God, those are the extras???” It reminds me of that episode of 30 Rock where Kenneth get Jack’s paycheck and is outraged by the size and after all that Jack lets it slip that this was his bonus check. So, this is now the “bonus vault”....?
It's one of those situations where, although I "like" this brand, I cant stand behind them and support them by giving them my money. Granted, every company has issues, but the owner of this company with his discriminatory actions to even his own daughter are far beyond ridiculous. So please enjoy the product if you want, but I personally cant gove money to a man who disowns his own family members, yet has them be a prominent member of the face for promoting the brand and refusing to pay said family. The owner is a bully and an even worse member of the whiskey community
I love bulleit bourdon it's one of my favourite bourbons for sure, you only have to look at my Instagram to see that haha.. I'm gutted though we can't get the barrel strength here in the uk 😔
Good stuff. Very spotty on where you can get it, even moreso than the barrel strength bourbon. As a Virginian, this gives me a reason to make some stops when passing through MD or DC.
Good bourbon but that being said it's sourced bourbon whiskey it's not made by billeit. They cooper the bourbon and then age it. this is fine but it's cheating. To truly make a great whiskey you distill the whiskey before you barrel it. Make barrel and age your own whiskey. The rest is a good whiskey but it's only half of the process. you need to distill, barrel, and age the whiskey.
PRO TIP: You'll find that if you extend the pinky finger when tilting back the glass it will improve the aerodynamics (much like the fin on the end of an aircraft wing) and further enhance the aromas.
Yall should add a close up shot of the whiskey bottle so we can read the label more easily. Just a suggestion :)
I still can't get my head around the concept of enjoying so much whisky at work that I don't really drink at home...
I work in front of a computer all day, so the last thing I want to do when I'm done is to park in front of another screen to watch tv or play video games. My son doesn't get it. Now that you said that, maybe my dream job wouldn't be in research and development for a distillery

I just love that Daniel calls pouring whisky in your tea "making cocktails"
By definition it is. When you mix alcohol and other liquids it becomes a “cocktail”
Only if it's three or more ingredients. Two is just a longdrink.
My wife also hates most of my drinks I "force" her to try. She has a wonderful way of telling me her disapproval of said drink. Recently she described my drink, Highland Park 12yr, as sweat from Satan's under carriage.
Bulleit barrel strength batch 2 was so good, hard to imagine it carrys Bulleit name. Good job on sourcing this batch whoever did this at Bulleit.
I just purchased a batch 7 version at my local store, and I am now watching a review. Batch 7 is 120.2 proof. Good to see Rex with you in a past episode I am just watching March 2024

Glad to see the guys reviewing my favorite everyday whiskeys
This stuff with a sweeter mineral water like perrier is amazing 👌🏼 plus a lemon or orange peel
I have been binge watching these ever since I found this, and I have a spouse that says similar to what Rob said. She says that Ardbeg smells like medical grade antiseptic. LOL

Rex ...totally agree on the "nose-bump" style glass. Some of us don't have little hobbit faces where our nose fits in a glencairn when drinking. :)
We just reviewed the new Barrell American Vatted Malt. Look forward to ylur thoughts on it. After going to back to the capped glass the next morning a nice chocolate has showed up to go along with the rest of the notes in the video m
The best description of that Dickel taste is “flintstone vitamins”
Daniel- "Oooooh, I like that!" proceeds to slightly die, chug water, and dilute the whiskey.
Not one of your more convincing endorsements, friend.
Daniel just likes to get thrown around room by his wiskey

How did I miss teachers last time, another one down! These are the lols I love.
Unless the Barrel Strength is different than the regular, until very recently, Bulleit's bourbon was being distilled by Four Roses
That's the last thing i had heard
Good bourbon. Simple and smooth. It does the job middle class bourbon. No fancy $2000 bottle of grandpappy.
Some whishey-tubers think the the latest Bulleit Bourbon products are distilled by Four Roses. I may just be passing along bad info. Bulleit Rye is still the 95% rye from MGP. (Love it)

your practicing at :10 seconds reminds me of the ASL sign for butterfly
The Groucho comment was on point, but if it came with the black classic glasses frame as a finger holder that would be excellent.
Bulleit Barrel Strength its less filtered. too. Bulleit labels are put on slightly off on purpose

Bulleit tastes pretty good; distinctive, yet nice. I also like George Dickel, which is also smooth and sweet.
Please review that Ron Barrilito in the background!
Can you guys do a review on
“The Knot” I believe it’s a Irish whiskey.
I’m very new to whiskey, your guy’s videos are awesome!
would this be ok in coffee with some vanilla added? i'm not sure if the 'spiciness' of rye whiskey would taste ok in it...
Rex, you're also flushing the residues out of the 'stache.
Just bought one and it is gooo-oood
My woman supports my bourbon habit. She even drinks with me when I pour a glass. Long story short I'm in love.
And if you drink, may you drink cask strength...

Just FYI bulleit bourbon is sourced from Four Roses.

Bulliet bourbon is four roses, their rye is mgp
