Ive been using mostly same setup but with assassins cowl, the invis and healing on finishers helps close the gap between you and the suspended group and the time up on invis helps with the cooldown and to position for next slam or grenade With the right mods you always have a form of suspend, invis, healing and abilty regen, really loving the strand hunter right now

I got the final warning sidearm the other night and wanted to take it for a spin but i had been running my arcstrider w/ assassins cowl for a lost sector and just left the cowl on by coincidence while messing around with strand, and then i realized it actually kind of works with the build and i don't want to take it off lol
Iv been using this build with radiant dance machines for the infinite dodge to suspend the room and then loop it with charged melees off of grapple grenades
I've been having a lot of fun with strand. I want to try focusing more on suspending as I think that is going to generally be a more practical team benefit but right now I've been having a lot of fun exploiting weird maneuvers and angles with the manticore. Swinging around the place and then stop mid-air to shoot enemies from up high and then re-grapple to stay in the air for a really long time is crazy fun. Add a sword to sword fly or melee enemies mid-air and you've got some anime shenanigans going on.
It seems like it'd be a ton of fun with Manticore! Suspend is definitely going to be the go to for any endgame content, but it's fun to swap between everything depending on what you're doing.
Lots of options! Unforgiven SMG from the Duality dungeon is great. Heros Burden from Iron Banner is great as well. Banshee sells Funnelweb really often so keep an eye on both pages of his inventory. You could use any void primary too, doesn't have to be an SMG, the high rate of fire just helps with volatile.
Destiny 2 is free my friend, destiny one is no longer being worked in to much dismay to the community. To access a build like this, the sublass is locked behind a paywall.
I still consider myself a casual player.. so can someone explain to me how the legs and cloak have extra slots? Also, what are the armor mods in those two that have zero energy?
So those are special pieces of armor called artifice armor. It drops from master difficulty dungeons and had an extra free mod slot that gives you +3 to a stat of your choice. 🍻
No no that's not true. They literally only had +3 stats to something, it's hardly a bonus at all but it's just something. They still have the same number of combat mod slots as normal armor!
Honestly you can still use the grapple here if you want for movement and you'll have it up even more than the shackle grenades cause of shorter cooldown,, but I agree the damage side of them is not great. Mainly why I just leaned into to using the shackle nade 🤝
Use assassins cowl with hands on, ashes to assets, firepower and heavy handed, you get a fuck ton of super energy and orbs and invis and heals since grapple melee counts as both powered melee and grenade ability
It does not man, I just double checked, the slam is not a class ability and therefore does not work with any of those mods regardless of exotic. I had to go check just to be sure, but it does not work.
Giving up the grapples demolishes the entire allure of strand hunter. How can people even consider using any other grenade - just play stasis if you want a control build lol.
So the cool thing here is that you can just as easily swap to the grapple grenade if you want to, and not much changes outside of having less suspend. Also you 100% are not going to be grappling around in endgame content like GMs haha. I love the grapple though and you can still totally use it for most general content.
@@GreyGamingGG I'd rather have the safety. I don't think hunters having 4 charges really matters when thread of generation and thread of mind exist. Strand hunter just kinda stinks when compared to the other two.

Yeah it's pretty amazing. The osteo warlock build is cracked, but I think suspend hunter can give it a run for it's money with sheer control alone.

You should have a key binding for "air move" in your bindings. It's a separate bind on mouse and keyboard, unsure of the default controller bind.

It does not, just double checked. The slam is just simply not a class ability, it's an air move.

All the class ability mods DOES work with ensnaring slam, just not with sixth coyote. Not sure if its intended or bug, just getting the word out

The grapple is ass. Does literally no damage and only kills thralls and stuff like that

This just seems like a worse version of the titan suspend build
Depends on how you look at it. Titans get woven mail for free, but hunters have 4 abilities constantly.

Instead of coyotes put on Radiant Dance Machines,you get up too 6 suspend slams in a row
