  • A modest modification of the Aprilia 660 exhaust. The catalytic converter is still there and no mods to the ECU. This was recorded with a mobile phone, the sound is so much better in real life. The result is quite a sporty sound, an overall improvement, but are lacking a preferable deeper rumble (imo).

    Genius no need of after market exhaust. We can tune stock exhaust the way we want ❤

      And it's relative simple and especially cheap modification. I paid about 100€ for the welding and that's it..

    I literally spent 6 hrs doing this mod this past Saturday. It wasn't hard really, you're right, it is time consuming. The result was "ok". I really wish I had de-cat'd it now. If you have basic tools and a welder, it's worth doing, But I would recommend pulling the cat out too if you want that really aggressive sound. Also have someone with small hands help with the nuts on the exhaust studs on the head.

      Thanks for your input! I also think the result was ok, or maybe a bit more than ok. Soundwise, I was hoping for deeper rumble, but instead settled for the sporty sound. Regarding de-catting the system, I'm still thinking that _maybe_ I should have gone "all in" and just deleted that damn thing. But still, I'm happy with the current result... And those header nuts, they are a bitch for sure :)

      If you de-cat it you need a Race Mapping or you get some real Problems with the motor 😵‍💫😵‍💫

    That's sick! Definitely a bit more growl. Can you do an onboard sound demo and a flyby/street demo, please!

      Thanks! Yeah, a bit more growl for sure, but I wouldn't mind a more deeper growl. It's winter in Sweden, but I might post a flyby when the weather has improved.

    Hi, and thanks for posting this, it is very helpful.
    Do you happen to know if what type done is similar or the same as motoboxusa sport plus?
    I've done mine and was wondering if you've installed any tune and if so, how does it feel?
    Thanks, Jon( uk)

    • @knekt75
      @knekt75  2 місяці тому

      Hi.. Sorry, I have no idea how the Motobox configurations look internally, and I never installed a tune. My plan was to keep the modification modest so that I did'nt have to upgrade the ECU...

  • @Wolfdgt
    @Wolfdgt 3 місяці тому

    Does the modification exceed the sound norms ? I believe that it is around 85db at 50% of the engine

    • @knekt75
      @knekt75  3 місяці тому

      Sorry, I'm not aware of any sound norms. But in the current state it's over 100 db at 6000 rpm, which could be too much I guess. However, I had zero complaints and personally I don't think it's too loud. There are so many louder bikes out there...

    • @knekt75
      @knekt75  3 місяці тому +1

      @@WolfdgtNo, I only removed the 4 bolts and kept the radiator hanging in the coolant hoses. This will give enough clearance to remove the header nuts 👍

    Hi. If the catalytic converter is still there, was those muffler that you removed? Btw, I'm the guy from Facebook that replied to your comment.

    • @knekt75
      @knekt75  6 місяців тому

      Yes, the cat is still in there. The exhaust is basically made in three different chambers. When removing these pipes and blocking the holes, the exhaust only goes through one chamber (instead of three chambers).

    • @mahanghorbani523
      @mahanghorbani523 6 місяців тому

      @knekt75 what those holes represent? I'm a bit confused. And by the way, how thick the metal blocker should be in order not to get melted completely when welding.

      I think the metal blocks were only 1 mm in thickness. Any good welder can do this.

      @knekt75 ah that answer why only 3 holes is blocked. But could you say what thsoe 2 pipe and that one hole represents? Thanks a lot in advance

      Svetsningen utfördes av en mekanisk firma i Stockholm. Firman gör flera jobb åt mig i tjänsten och gjorde svetsningen som en vänlig gest. Det var en engångsföreteelse och de utför egentligen inte sådana här jobb på daglig basis..

    does this result in less back pressure since you are removing bends and restrictions?

    • @knekt75
      @knekt75  5 місяців тому

      Maybe some loss of back pressure in the system, but there still is a cat and minor pipes in there so its not a totally free flowing system. I havent noticed any loss of power...

      Hey. Im currently not in the same place where my bike is. (I have a 2023 tuono 660) I did the same as in the video and also drilled out the catalytic converter. (I kept the so called pipe that held all the metal so it doesn't go through any other chamber). In a week when i get back i could send you an audio if you'd like to compare them. I also have photos of the process if you need them.
