I can't watch this one because I'm too emotional but I've given your reaction a like and wanted to give my full appreciation and respect to our veterans. My son in law was in the Marines , fought in Afghanistan, and is now in the Army. Thank you for the Home Free reactions. Take care.
Great Veterans/Remembrance day reaction. Rob was the perfect choice to lead this song, #HomeFree 's voice of an angel member to give honor to our lost warriors. Only 2 of the 6 are dads unless you are including pets. That would be Adam and Rob. Rest are parents to great pups and kitties.
So beautifully sung by Rob with so much emotion that it touches your heart and soul. Because if you can sing as well, as it reaches only to my ears it's not good enough for me. But this is so perfect. Beautiful cover with respect for the original. They just give it a Home Free twist like Tim's piece with Amazing Grace. So good harmonies and great bass in the background .. And then that video, so emotional!! So many families that have been through this.😢 My father came out of the war alive after 4 years in a Japanese camp. Often in isolation. With the help of a fellow inmate, he survived. But it still bothered him physically and mentally. He was hard on us. We were not allowed to show our emotions and weakness, otherwise they would get us. After all, he himself had survived the war that way. In 1969, 3 days before my 6th birthday, he died from the physical effects of the war. He was only allowed to live to be 50 years old. Amazing Grace was sung at his funeral. One of his favorite songs that he often sang as a pastor.
This song was written and originally performed by Vince Gill, on the death of his brother in music Keith Whitley and his biological brother, who both died young. KW had a hit song “No Stranger to the Rain”, referenced within. Home Free did a beautiful rendition. The original, performed by Vince Gill with Patty Loveless and Ricky Skaggs is absolutely well worth the listen also. Vince always felt the song was not quite finished, and later on added another verse to wrap it all up. That version seems a bit difficult to find but is out there.
November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada and I'm so glad you're playing this video today. It's such a sad, beautiful song. I want to thank you and every other person who served or is serving in the armed forces for your service to your country. Incidentally Tim, Austin & a consortium of other singer/song writer/musicians do fund raising for at-risk veterans (some excerpts are available on y/t).
As the wife of a 20-year Veteran, this song always makes me emotional--and this video tells the military story so well. Another 🎯 on my ❤️ by our Home Free fellas.
This is a beautiful video for today, but if you want to hear HF sing it without the distraction of the poignant video, look for "Home Free - Go Rest High On That Mountain (Acapella Cover) // The Church Sessions" - it is a live recording and just as gorgeous.
You should listen to Home Frees version of Travellin Soldier, it has with a bit of a twist. You will be told it’s a Dixie Chicks song but it’s actually by Bruce Robison in 1996
Our family is very military. My grandpa served in WW1 (yes, I'm old), my dad served in the Korean war, my husband served a combined 29 years in USAF and Ks. Air National Guard, one son-in-law served in the army with a tour in Iraq and Afghanistan and our other son-in-law is currently serving in the Ks. Air National Guard. We played this at my dad's service two years ago as well as their version of How Great Thou Art. My dad was enthralled with Home Free. Thanks for your service! Love your channel!!
Home Free did a beautiful version of this song. Im proud to say that my family has had, and still has, members serving. My dad (Army Air Corps, Normandy), my youngest daughter (Air Force, Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Qatar), my oldest grandson (Air Force, currently serving), a cousin (Navy), 3 cousins (Marines, Desert Storm), and a nephew (Army, currently serving). My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones fighting for our country and the freedom we enjoy.
You guys don't really have to stop every 2 seconds, especially when you're not saying anything too profound! There are some songs that you ruin at the best moments just to voice inane thoughts. Sometimes your EXPRESSIONS can be enough of a reaction!! Save some of your comments till the end!! Cheers!!
Adam Rupp, beat boxer , has a beautiful voice and sings in this one. He also sings in Brothers in Arms, and How Great Thou Art. Need to react to that as well. Both this one and How Great Thou Art were filmed in Austria in 2020 before they had to cut their tour short because of the pandemic.
I had to wait a bit on this one it hits home for me. But they make this song heavenly. And literally sound like they are raising their voices all the way to the pearly gates in that high part towards the end! Thank you for your service guys dont matter where ya serve its still a sacrifice! AND I adore your reactions!
My dad, a Sargeant First Class, took some 35mm pictures, in Korea, in the early 1950's. They show the American Army sharing their Christmas, turkey dinner (with all the fixings - I still have a copy of the menu) with the British, Australian, and Belgian soldiers. The soldier is a Sargeant in, I believe, a class A uniform from the 1940's.
This is a beautiful song and a beautiful idea especially if you want to tie the video to something like Veteren’s Day or Remembrance Day. Everyone always talks so much during this one though that I feel like a lot of the time they miss great parts of the song. If you ever wanted to focus more on the song I would suggest their other video of them singing this song which is Go rest high on that mountain The Church Sessions where they sing it together in a church just the 5 of them with nothing else. It’s beautiful also and lets you focus a bit more on them and who is singing what and how.
The brother came back but his twin brother, her husband Jeff didn’t make it back. This always makes me cry! Keeping the ones who didn’t make it back and the ones who did but have mental health issues from what they’ve been through all my prayers for their well being!
Great reaction, as always, to a beautiful version of a beautiful song! I have also just listened to your reaction to Stand by me andyou asked about other acapella groups - PLEASE, PLEASE react to Pentatonix - Hallelujah. You will wish you hadn’t waited so long! I love the two groups equally and feel you are missing out!!!
Grandpa was telling his grandson about his brother, When he came home his wife was so happy until he told her that his brother didn't make it home. He has his brother's dog tags and hung them over a photo of him & his brother when they were younger, before the war. Then he took his grandson to the graveyard to show where his brotheer was buried. I guess you missed when he told about the Sarge making him & his brother fold the flag. Obviously they had been together in the war, which is how he knew his brother had been killed. Too many wars, too many people killed.
Sending love to our brothers and sisters in the UK and all they've lost. We're allies politically but we do love you all and never forget those that have fallen, especially in WWI and WWII. I really do love seeing jokes and memes on tik tok and what not between the US and UK because really the UK is the only place I feel like I can rag on and know they're gonna come back with a legit comeback and we all be fine at the end of the day. Its like a brother rivalry where you'll shit on each other but also fight for the other if you have to.
You really need to react to ‘How Great Thou Art’ and some of their earlier songs - ‘Why Not’, ‘Anyway The Wind Blows’, ‘Wake Me Up’ and some of the solo work by Adam Chance - ‘Song For Home’.
The subject is serious, the story told, sad. The harmonies are beautiful. The performance perfect. The disrespectful, silly giggling, and obtuse comments, inappropriate.
Right now in the US and the UK you get in trouble walking with your counrties flag. Especialy if there are pro-Hamas palastein marchers close by. Seen it happen on the news in both countries. Seen hamas supporters assulting other people or tear down signs and cops stand there doing nothing.
Sorry you feel that way. As 2 British soldiers that have been, gone and come back from a war. We do tend to show our upbeat side. You need too in that environment and that's my advice 👍
Makes you feel the feelings on Veteran's day/Remembrance Day.....those men & women who gave everything for us will never be forgotten.
💯

❤
Mad respect to you. Appreciate you
Have you seen their version of Traveling Soldier? Another good one. Home Free is very supportive of groups that help Veterans.
We will have to check it out Sally 😊
The dog tags are his brother's who did not make it back. He told his grandson about his brother, and that is whose grave they visit at the end.
It's a sad story
Travelin Solider is a wonderful story in a song
Couldn't agree more
Home Free just draws you in with their beautiful voices. Love the video repurposing the message of the original.
Very beautiful 😊
Great Veterans/Remembrance day reaction. Rob was the perfect choice to lead this song, #HomeFree 's voice of an angel member to give honor to our lost warriors.

Beautiful song for a tough subject. Loved Tim singing Amazing Grace near the end. Rob killed it. Happy Remembrance Day boys!🥰😍
All absolutely amazing
Beautiful #Homefree reaction. Hope all is well LeeJaay. Respect to you both for carrying out the craft
Cheers dude

Their entire organization is very patriotic since they got the actors and put the video together on this all singing version of this song.
We respect that
When they hug it is the brother wife and he hands her his dog tags. Such a sad time.
Very sad story

Appreciate the feedback Vinnie 👍
Your reaction was very disrespectful. You were laughing and joking . Terrible!!
Inappropriate giggling, and inane long-winded off the mark comments, are rather abrasive. I guess unsubscribing is the path.
You should look for the Vince Gill (original) video of this. Bring tissues 🌸
I love how your own military banter military stories came into play. Some of the comments have no clue at all

First thank you for your service to your country, it takes a special human being to fight for others and thier nation. I am a US Air Force veteran.
Mad respect to you Rev
This is so beautiful and very sad. Love how these guys honor our military.❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Lee Jaay and Stan, and I hope you have good Remembrance Day.
You too 😊
A great example of blue grass harmony written by a premium blue grass artist, Vince Gill. I love the music on this. It always brings the shivers.
Love that

Love it

LJ your wife is secretly wishing you would go away for 2 weeks to give her peace and quiet. At least, that's how I felt after my ex retired.😂
😂😂

Great reaction. ❤
Thank you!! 😁
Please go back a few seconds after you have paused to give the song some continuity. 😊
Appreciate the feedback 😊
Someone has probably said already. Song was a dedication to a lost brother by the original artist Vince Gill.
It's very beautiful

This song was about the grandfathers brother that died
Someone should have told them you don't fold the flag in the morning lol
😂
The dog tags is his brother's who was killed in action
Sad story

That's why I prefer the Church Sessions version

ya as an american soldier going off to war wasn't funny at all.

@@highlyreactivereactions been there and done that. I get the keeping a fun side but there was absolutely nothing funny about.
Bloody disrespectful to a beautiful song! Shame on you.
Thank you for your opinion 😂 I dont agree with it but hey, that's life 👍
Very inappropriate & disrespectful commentary. Shame on you.
Thank you for your opinion 👍 we strongly disagree
