I was never a Kamal Hassan fan but yes without a doubt I had immense respect for his craft and his acting prowess. But this interview completely changes your perception about Kamal Hassan the person. I don't think there is any other actor in this country who has studied cinema so closely. Many a times Anupam Kher who himself is a legendary actor had no clue what Kamal sir was talking about. I usually don't watch interviews which are this long but watching this interview was like watching a documentary. I learned so much about acting today. Kamal sir in a very simple and subtle way gave so many references that you really get into thinking that do other so called actors really know what acting is? Hats off to this man's knowledge, intelligence and his view about cinema and life in general. Truly an inspiration.

He is Padma Bhushan not Vibhushan....whereas Rajinikanth is Padma Vibhushan....irony 😂 ...these awards off late have become very very political and hence insignificant....

Filmfare award means nothing. He has won 3 national awards! National awards are the most coveted awards in acting in India.

There is simply NO ONE that can claim to have his versatility, body of work, be a singer, dancer, screen writer, producer, director....and many more. There are other good actors of course, but he trumps even in that list and the good other actors cannot match his level of versatility in any way.

He's talked almost everything as an aspiring youngster, an actor, a common man, a friend, a political critic, etc. His view on politics is very practical that he made the point if we can't stop corruption make it legal. When he said "Every era has bad actors.". It means he's done things from scratch, be it directing, story-telling, screenplay, imitation, stunts and etc and etc. He's one actor who is inimitable. This will be always contentious because there other phenomenonal actors who try to overdo their jobs missing the nuances.
