This new radio still has only 128 memories, just like the original (and still shipping) UV-5R. It still has the same frequency range limits as well (136-174 and 400-520 MHz).
Some simple extensions should work right? A regular stereo extension cable for mic/ptt and and a smaller mono extension for audio out? Have you tried that yet?
We had this exact issue come up at road atlanta 2022 lemons race. We unlpugged it and plugged it back in and it started working again. Ill modify the radio in the car or get the 8w uv 5r.
Got this radio March 5th worked good for 6 weeks. Two weeks ago I turned it on it made a cracking sound lost all audio. Even to earplug. Reset it 10 times still dead.
Troy we need to recommend that everyone set their Baofengs to NARROW to avoid interference amongst each other at the race track. Maybe we can work on a video like that. Dave
Can you take a photo of the long battery uv5r 8w model the sticker of the radio, mine is written baofeng but the sticker is in green pofung without mentioning wattage although on the front is written uv5r 8w like yours
I can not figure out how to reply with a picture. The tag under the battery says Baofeng on the top and Po Fung Electronic at the bottom below the S/N.
@@nerdieracingcommunications5478 thank you for the reply, exactly like mine pofung but no wattage other than the little black sticker uv5r 8w in front of the ham, let's hope is original and at the same watt they came cause I don't have way to measure it, other than it has 3 levels low med and high instead of low high that the say are present on the 5w model!
it is no way to connect PC to program this BF-F8HP, can't make PC programming works for this item. same-time i purchased a BaoFeng UV-82HP it works ok for PC programming.
I programmed a few batches of radios recently. Some were fine, some needed to be unlocked and a couple programmed one time but not the next. The pair that would not program the second time is still unsolved. Could be my programming cable got damaged. There are two versions of CHIRP now, Legacy and Next.
Keep plugging & unplugging that cord a few times on any of these $ 30.00 radios, & the super cheap Chinesium internal jack contacts Will bend & break & you're screwed.....

Baofeng made a UV-5R GMRS radio recently

I have an BF-F8HP and a BTEC microphone that work perfectly together.
I think it's because of the water resistant feature thats the problem. Not sure

Wich is better the 8w 5r or the regular uv5r

Great video, and also awesome onboards!...
Can you make a video showing your radio setup in your racecar?
Thank you.
I need to make a video about how we feed our comms to our cameras.

Claim to be complied with FCC regulation but not.
Can't reach 8watt output, not even a half.

The box says it’s 8W, but it’s not, it’s lower.
It's really 7w.
Battery no long hold charge.
Good video Troy. High powered versions eat batteries so dang quick I dont think they're worth it.
Congrats on Hallett.
Thanks
So, the title is worthless
Sorry
