I appreciate you sooooo much sir. I'm a self taught musician and have been playing at my church for 7 years now, this is the kind of video i've been searching all over the internet for!!!
These are the videos I’ve been looking for. I’ve been playing piano for almost 6 years now and couldn’t find almost anything where people were clearly explaining these kinds of movements. Thank you for sharing this information without hiding the good stuff behind a course. You and your channel will be rewarded.
Good breakdown of those essential chord progressions and some of the Gospel secrets. Very useful for someone like me who comes from jazz but was always fascinated by that Gospel sound, but never knew what made it sound so great. Excellent job, Corey - and thanks very much.
Thank you Brother! I was brought up through the classical tradition, and only recently started learning how to play gospel piano. Thank you for explaining this so clearly. God bless you!
Opening the door to the church sound I need in my life, thanks ! subscribed. Plus I like your facial funk-o-meter when you hit those nasty tonic diminished and sweet suspended chords. ...
I'm a jazz guitarist learning the piano. Your videos have helped me so much in making my piano playing sound more soulful and interesting. Piano aside, your content is a wonderful source of versatile gospel language. I've been transcribing what I can from your piano lessons on the guitar as well, and love the way it sounds. I don't know that I've ever found a channel with as much practical (and straight to the point!) material as yours. Your effort is greatly appreciated.
Good presentation! I subscribed, which I don't do quickly. You're right up there with Piano with Jonny. Excellent. Now, let me to get those under my hands. Thanks, and blessings!
Love your channel!!! Thank you for what you teach. I’ve been playing at church since the age of 9, but want to improve exactly to think musically as you do! When I get my nord stage 3, I will book with you! Blessings!!
Thank you so much for this. This is what I’ve been waiting for the last 30 years. Oh my gosh I don’t even know what else to say. Is there anyone that teaches this for background vocals arrangements? Your guidance is second to none.
Actually et 0'.51" the voicing Ddim/F (F-D / Ab-D-F) is what really hit me. Same idea as the IVminor to replace the V, but very nice with this specific voicing in the low part of the piano. Seems more like a F minor 6 than a Ddim/F, don't you think?
Thank you for the master class, I was amazing, although I tried to download the pdf it was not possible, when I clicked on it the page came up with an error. Could you please help me.🤗
Thanks for your teaching ! My question is : Can I use the first move this way? For example, imagine that I am playing in CM, from my root, I want to go to F chord, can I play Am, Abm and so on?
Hello, thank you for this great video. I just had a small question about the first progression. Can you also use it to land on minor chords? Thanks again
I generally redo videos for a a specific key on UA-cam. However, I would love to do it good you privately. Shoot me an email at ctaylor@skilledmusician.com and let’s talk

Cool stuff Corey. That 3rd move could be thought of as applying the Barry Harris 6th dim to a gospel tune.
Very true!
Thanks for this! Great stuff :)
You are so welcome!
I believe you every time, even when it sounds like click bait , it's never click bait. Fact.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Interesting thought…. Thanks for sharing!
Let me share.
Thank you so much!
So nice - but what if you can't span a tenth in either hand?...
For your left hand, just do a 3rd. In your right hand, roll up from bottom to top…
