    Thank you for the recipe chef 👨‍🍳 this was my first mechanical keyboard mod so it took me nearly 5 hours to lube all switch’s and stabilizers. I also modified the recipe for my taste and added PE foam and two layers of masking tape. I couldn’t be happier with the thockalicious sound this keyboard is producing now.
    My Air75 came with one broken cable coming from the battery. Once I fix that small issue this keyboard will be perfect!
    Thanks for the video!

    Although the Nuphy Air keyboard is compatible with most Mx style keycaps, it is best to use a lower profile keycaps such as the XDA or DSA profile keycaps to avoid any pinging noise.

    Loved the build! I did want to ask though, do you have any recommendations for shine-through keycaps that would be compatible with the Nuphy Air75? I know they released ones a few months back, but i feel like they are plain and want something a little nicer.

    cant wait for my air60 to arrive, I went with the brown switches. Does lubing brown switches gain any benefits? Or is lubing mostly intended for linear switches?

    • @JDrive
      @JDrive  2 роки тому +1

      You'll definitely feel the difference and satisfaction after lubing whichever switch colour. The benefits are easily noticeable, and based on my personal experience, once you go lubed, you never go back 😉

    • @ryanpeyer1947
      @ryanpeyer1947 2 роки тому +2

      Just lubed mine today. Added a piece of PE foam between the PCB and plate... Sounds dope, tbh, and I def suggest living the browns. I avoided lubing the front side of stem, so as to avoid messing with the tactility. I didn't relube the slabs, yet, but overall they sound good... Mine were factory lubed, pretty gooped. The switches were a pain to reassemble.
      Anyways, for a budget board, it's super slick when you mod it out. I'd love for some more low profile keycap options.

      Regretfully I am not really sure where to get the replacement springs that you’re looking for that can work well with the Nuphy Low Profile Gateron switch, and honestly I am not as meticulous when it comes to the springs activation force. I am actually quite amaze looking your question. It shows how detail you are in the keyboard you use, down to the activation force it. 🙌

      They are XDA profile keycaps made of PBT. (My guess is that they're dye-subbed, meaning the graphics have been printed on.) They are *not* low profile keycaps.

    Pffff excellent job!
    I''m waiting my nuphy air 60 and i wanna do the same.
    how long did take all this job?

    • @JDrive
      @JDrive  2 роки тому +1

      I divided the task into 2 days (but if you want to, you can actually finish it all up within a day).
      The 1st day for me to dismantle everything and try to figure out the parts and started to lube a small amount of switches, just to get use to the parts.
      The second day basically to finish up everything which include lubing the stabilizers and reassemble the keyboard.
      From my experience, lubing the low profile optical switch from Keychron K3 is somehow slightly much easier compared to the low profile gateron switch.
      i guess if you can get a switch opener, that would probably save so much more time and effort as well.
      But in the end, it’s totally worth it to go through all these hassles knowing that you’ll enjoy the typing experience as well while working and typing your way to finish up any job on hand. Good luck and hope u enjoy your new Air 60 👍

      Took me about 5 hours (including a break for dinner, so about 4 hours of work time) to disassemble, lube the switches, and make a PE foam insert for between the pcb and plate. I wasn't moving super fast and I skipped the stabs until I get new keycaps.
      I want to include some sort of foam for the bottom of the case. It sounds much better, but still a tad hollow.

    Interesting! I tried a couple XDA keycaps on my nuphy and they all hit the plate. Did you not have the issue with these?

    • @JDrive
      @JDrive  2 роки тому +1

      Actually for this particular caps that I got, I do feel the caps hitting on the plate (specially if I start typing aggressively) specifically more on the space bar and capslock compared to the other keycaps.
      I guess the lubed switches and springs does help to ease the ping noise.
      Am intrigued in trying out with DSA profile keycaps though. Might be a better choice.

    • @JDrive

    Battery Life?

    • @JDrive
      @JDrive  2 роки тому

      honestly speaking I started of uaing the keyboard with all the side lights and back lights turned on and it doesn’t last as long as i wanted it to be, probably for 2 days.
      But then the backlight didn’t really do much help since the keycaps are not shine through, so there no point turning it on, and recently I have just been using it either with both side light and backlight off, or just having the side light turn on just for the look, and the battery last longer for about 4 days usage before I need to recharge it again.
