You have to stich the inside together for reinforcement. Last thing you want is to sit down in your favorite prefect fitting jeans and feel the waist POP. 😳😱😣

We call it Jacob's ladder stitch. It's quick and holds it well. I use regular thread but I think embroidery thread would hold better. Depends where the tear is.

Great fix for pants that don't have a very thick waistband. 😊 Just an fyi-There are certain jeans (think rugged Levi's) where the waistband isn't flexible enough to pull together neatly plus the "lump" on the inside may feel irritating.

Try using a stronger thread like embroidery thread (resham) it wont break then :)

Or at least double the thread to make it stronger, and when you pull it - do it gradually, not right from the top. Divide it at least in three parts and gently pull step by step from the lowest section up to the highest.
