    I don’t know how I came across any of this, but I seriously want to buy one of these or try making one just to mess around with. I know it must take years to get good with one, with practice daily, but I didn’t even know what it was called 4 days ago. I’ve heard them before and thought they were pretty awesome.

      Hola a ti.

    yes, i like it...this concept brings us didgeridoo enthusiasts together...i'd love to take part again...i'm fascinated by how clear the sound is, after a while it doesn't sound so clean for me... what exercises do you do before or after the game to warm up or exercise/relax your lips? Thank you for your show and I hope to see you again soon

    • @zalemdidg

      Thanks, I'm glad you liked this concept, I would do it again...
      It's normal that after a while you lose precision in the lips when you play for a long time. There are several causes for this. First of all, it can be due to a lack of saliva, so make sure you hydrate well before playing. Then it is the lips which can become numb, and for that, there is not much to do if not the habit... The more you practice regularly, the longer you will play. A trick I do several times in this live show when the lips start to go numb, is to take out the vibration to make BeatBox sounds. It gives the listeners a break from the vibration, while keeping the rhythm, and it rests my lips... And then we go back!

      About the warm-up exercises, you can do like the singers and gradually do vocalizations, I like to do BeatBox sounds or even didgeridoo sounds (without didgeridoo) to warm up before playing. For after the playing, you can finish with a calm and long drone, it works well. There are also exercises to soften the abdominal muscles and the diaphragm which can be good. And for the lips, if you have played for a long time, there is nothing like a little lipstick!

    Hello Zalem, you explaned that behind the mouthpiece the didge gets wider til six centimeters. How can you still have so much backpresure?

    • @zalemdidg
      @zalemdidg  2 роки тому

      First it's because the didg's proportions are optimised, then it's because of practice:-)

    Hello Zalem, Thank you for this session. You say in here that the mouthpiece you use is 32 mm. Is this real? 32 seems very very small. When I play, anything under 40 mm seems impossible and I don't have the biggest lips! Once more thank you for your teachings

    • @zalemdidg
      @zalemdidg  2 роки тому

      Hello!
      Yes, 32mm is the ideal size for me. But of course it's not necessarily the same for everyone, it really depends on the size of your mouth, the shape of your lips etc...
      But then, it's interesting to keep in mind that the didg is always a matter of compromise. A certain shape will allow you to make some sounds more easily, and not others. For the mouthpiece, 32 is for me, the good compromise, between precise harmonics, ease of wobble and beatbox integration. With a smaller mouthpiece, I would have more precise harmonics more easily, but I would have less freedom to integrate the beatbox ...
      I advise you to try several configurations, and to find the one that suits you best, depending on what you want to do with the didgeridoo ;-)

    • @calexiou69
      @calexiou69 2 роки тому

      Thank you for the detailed answer. I think it also has to do with how experienced your lips are. I am sure that your lips can vibrate in more detail than mine. I will try different configurations. Thank you for your time.
