"Some take to religion, some take to dope." Perfectly JJ Cale. Simple, but right between the eyes!
Another excellent song by JJ Cale
The slide guitar makes this version so much better! Miss that man,
The last appearance of Stan as a Heartbreaker. Rather heartbraking in itself!
Absolutely no disrespect to Steve Ferrone, because he was a great fit into the HB’ers after Stan had enough. The intense chemistry of Stan not only helped excel the sound of the band in its beginnings…but also helped develop a very edgy attitude in the music. The tension between him and TP also made better songs because Stan didn’t tow the line, calling shit bad in the material, sloppy live playing, sound etc. In the early days he was a clearly the co-leader with Tom so when the solo stuff was being recorded, pretty much everyone was invited except for Stan, and why it came down ugly. Definitely could’ve been handled way better for a guy 18 years band committed.
Howie
slide solo by MC is fabulous. Like somebody once said "like a ringin' a bell"
The slide playing by Mike makes this song!
Exactly 23 years later he passed on... Wish he was still here with us all, but he will forever live on thru these captured images and his music! Rock on Tom ❤🔥
As a huge JJ cale & Tom Petty fan, what more could you ask for? Thanks for the great upload ♥
Wow...I love JJ Cale, was so sad when he died. But Tom sang this as if he wrote it...You can tell he really liked the song. Brilliant lyrics...and Mike's slide...soooo good
I remember, it was 10 years this summer JJ died. Just about a week prior I had a dream "talking" to JJ Cale and asked him for new music, he said it's on the way son. Bummer.
absolute brilliance Tom, a definite tribute JJ !!!

Love this cover!I didn’t know this was Stan’s last show. I’m so glad I got to see him with the Heartbreakers. I saw them with Howie and Ron also within 4 different shows.
❤❤❤
Had to be one of the last performances with Stan.
Great laid back art og music!
Song that represents the times were going through. Just give it a listen
FUCK Yes.
Drinking coffee and reefer smoking cigarettes and booze. Haha
Great lyrics in this song , good ol JJ 🎸
And that grin
Tom reminds me so much of Dylan. Its just that his voice and cadence are so similar. But simultaneously, his voice . is simply sui generis.
thank you looking for song for 3 days couldnt remember the name thjanka han
The smoker you drink the player you get
Amen
BridgeSchool benefit show...i was on the grass...smokin grass....

JJ Cale as was mentioned earlier.
@@danbitgood429 just checking to see if people actually knew
It was J.J. Cale's. Now it's Tom Petty's.
Better than a Clapton version
