Today we check out the new DLC of the Contra collab Operation Guns in Vampire Survivors as Browny, a character that gains Area by simply increasing Cooldown Reduction, for a juicy +100% once 50% Cooldown Reduction is reached. In this video we focus on the evolution of Sonic Bloom called Wave Beam - a weapon I am undecided on what I think about it, but with a major but simple trick we managed to turn it into an actually powerful weapon.

Honestly, i think tht's just a sign that he is really done with this game for himself. His dedication to get perfect runs is on a downward trend since quite a while, and i think that's only natural after such a long time with this game. The dlcs are not redefining the game, they just add a bit of fun which he is trying to combine with content. Which then in turn leads to such mistakes if you don't take it dead serious. Almost as if he watched a load of Bob Ross, where mistakes don't exist. They are happy accidents (to a ceratain degree at least.)
I could be totally wrong, but my impression is that he had just too much VS. In the early days, he for sure would have reset again after seeing that he banished the wrong thing, that made him stand out back then. The title of the guy with the most dedicated VS runs of any youtuber i know is still his for me, no questions asked. No clue if it's actually true, but if not, he's close. Time was almost irrelevant, even while working at the same time.
Which is sad one one side, but a healthy thing to do regardless. Always trying to be perfect doesn't help you in life, i've seen that with astrophotography myself. it's cool as long as the passion burns in you, but if it gets to the point of actual work, trying to perfectly do everything just messes you up to an ungodly degree. Perfection is not attainable, and i think those videos just show a somewhat lesser interest in VS and maybe the whole genre in general.
Though, resetting the shop in dmd for 10 to 20 hours straigh is a shitton of dedication, i would say lol. Damn. i shouln't be typing right now.
Whatever, i miss those "perfect" runs. They were something special for sure.
@@certainlynotmalo1.0.06 it's reasonable to assume, but nothing has really changed about how I approach. What has changed though is that the game now offers a new opportunity to get an additional item - but it should be noted that this additional item is already one I didn't plan to have on the build, else it would be part of it. There are some rare exceptions where I e.g. want Spellbinder but can't fit it, but it would never be banned. The sealing of the weapon is actually preparation before the run, it's not that I forgot I had them sealed. I check the weapon limit breaks, it's stats, then I seal the items I won't require and go on the run. The problem is that having too many items makes it really hard to find/max out certain items, which is especially painful on very weak early weapons and then getting an NFT, but because I can't get the stuff in time I have to reset. The game has level limits to offer a weapon naturally, so for example a wepaon level 5 requires the character level to be 13 to show up on level ups in it's basic level up offer generation. This is then offset by 3 things: the 4th luck option ignores this, the "level up preference" ignores this (the game has a chance for even/odd level ups to guarantee offer something you own in the first slot) and I think there is a luck based chance to offer ANYTHING, not just the first one. But because many of these odds are low, that means the more items there are in the pool, the worse it gets. Especially since rerolling can't show the same stuff again, so for example having 7 things to upgrade left, if you have a 4 offer level up, the next reroll 100% guarantees to get what you want.
The Contra update somehow focused on directional weapons, how surprising...

For whatever reason the bouncing arcana does not seem to work on the charged red version of the weapon but it does work with the blue version which makes the damage scale massively. Just look early on after taking it you can see the difference in appearances.
Makes me wonder how the charge attack is typed as it may play big in what Arcanas are picked

The patch released after this video considerably buffed the phoenix blasts of the wave canon. They now do about 2.5x the damage of the blue waves and would have been hitting about 1,800 in the end.
The fact that every time he do another run he has to do the explanation about the build is so funny

I don't understand the reason why the damage of the weapon when standing still is the same as if you move, it should be greater to compensate for the damage you can receive from the bosses. An interesting weapon that can be improved but in this game nothing changes after its release.

The cars and other destructible items should be able to trigger the Fire-L3GS's special effect. Could be interesting to try that weapon on this character.
Was intially pretty hyped on the contra gimmick but considering all the weapons we got I feel there's surprisingly little longevity to the majority of them, the directional crap means that most aren't very viable to limit break and it's weird that some of the evolutions seem actively worse like this.. played through the adventure and I'm not really interested in picking most of them up again

The reason the evolved weapon is worse/gets less kills when standing still is because of the charge time mentioned on the evolution card. It doesn't look like the charge animation does any damage. You constantly fire while moving so there's no breaks in the damage you're doing
I suspect arcana choice has more weight with these weapons (complmenting bounce/elemental ones,etc)
Yeah, this evolution seems rough. Seems like the stationary fire does exactly the same damage as the moving fire, just with a slower fire rate and larger area. But if the normal fire already covers most or all of the screen, then...
@DexTag the new weapons don't need their passives maxed to evolve! And once the power pack is used to evolve you can find it again through lvl up

I think the red blasts are for singular enemies while the blue is for multiple but I might be wrong
It's very sad that a lot of the weapons in the DLC have almost no pierce...

You could have survived if you had remembered to unban hollow heart and didn't stop moving. What a letdown that the "special" attack of the evolved weapon is actually worse than the regular attack. I think this build deserves another try in the future.
I didn't stop moving, the attacks would turn red if I stand still. Hollow Heart would have made a big difference, but it would have "only" doubled the HP to 684. Given that I died within 12 seconds after the enemies were unfrozen, that would mean I would have died soon after even with the higher HP
@@DexTag Yeah, I was talking about earlier in the video, before you realized that the red attack sucks. I think that you would have killed a lot more enemies and leveled a lot more if you knew that. Maybe the extra level ups would have given you the edge to survive the last two minutes. This DLC's weapons don't seem to work well with solo limit breaks but the videos are still great fun. I can't wait for the "fisting" video lol
Is it normal on the switch that at some point you lag out the game hard enough to just clip through all the walls and sometimes you can't even interact with items anymore.

You dont need to max out passives, to get evolutions for this DLC weapons.
