It’s wild that Pinegrove is having this Moment (No pun intended) the second after they disbanded. I finally got to see them in Milwaukee after following them since 2015. I adore Evan and co. I Hope their hiatus is brief. They didn’t make a single bad album. Love when Michael covers my favorites. Keep on keepin’ on.
Damn. I have been listening to PG for a bit, and had no idea they broke up within the last few months. This really brought me down. I cherish their old tunes, and went to a bunch of their sets in the tristate area.
I saw them open for Into It. Over It. 2016 in San Diego, I had no clue who they were. It took a few months afterwards until I was obsessed with them! I never got to see them after that :( please come back Pinegrove! :)
One of the greatest feelings of my life was driving through Sequioa national park as the sun was setting with the light coming through the hemlocks and sequioas as that solo dropped. Made me feel limitless
Someone has probably already mentioned it but also do yourself a favor and watch Pinegroves tiny desk concert it’s unbelievably good and the production is mixed so well it’s pure bliss listening on headphones! They are masters of the soft touch!! Definitely will get you in the feels! Thank you Michael for always bringing the positive passion!!
Have loved this band for years, Im glad a big reaction channel has finally gotten around to them. Such talented songwriters. Hopefully we see more Pinegrove reactions on this channel in the future!
Michael, if you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and watch the full Amperland movie on your own time. So much incredible musicianship throughout. This song is just the tip of the iceberg
This is nuts… “Darkness” played on my discover weekly playlist (had never heard them before) and was genuinely moved by the song. Great song, great band.
Love pinegrove. They play with tempo a ton in their music which feels really live. Check out the Tiny Desk concert for some killer stuff. Props to the mixing on that video.
Love Pinegrove so much. Saw them in a small venue and the crowd was singing so loud that I couldn't hear Evan lol. So much intelligence and nuance in their songs
Yea i saw them in 2017 at a church called the Southgate House Revival in Newport KY. One of my all-time favorite concert memories. There was a second level with an organ above the stage. Maybe 400 people in the building
I watch/listen to Amperland and their Audiotree Live set pretty much on a weekly basis while at work. Pinegrove is so incredibly talented in such a tasteful and sonically interesting way. And Evan is a master songwriter/lyricist. I pray to god they get back together and start making more music and playing shows. If you're reading this, do yourself a favor and check out more of their music. And to each their own, but I prefer the live performance recordings over the albums, so sample both. This is a band that sure knows how to rework a song for a crowd.
By far my favorite live studio recording of all time. Saw Pinegrove a little over a year ago in STL. Top 3 concert for me. They are spectacular live. Also, so stoked you did this video. Love watching your stuff.
I’ve gotten a lot of joy from your videos over the last couple years. I was so delighted to see this video pop up recently. Pinegrove is one of my favorite bands. Thanks for giving them the time and attention for this video
Have I missed something or are Pinegrove blowing up out of no where? Been a huge fan since their first album. Watching you dissect one of my favourite solos ever was incredible. I love their sound, but I have to say their earlier stuff is extremely thought out. I think they've probably found their sound now - which isn't a bad thing, but I do miss them really pushing their country influence.
I live in Barcelona and traveled to the Netherlands to see them back in 2016 when I first found out about them. The guitar player, Jodi, is also such an amzing artist and I love their music.
Yo, Michael. I love what you do, and you've made me change my mind on numerous bands, I'd love for you to dive in on stephan malkmus. Not pavement which he's famous for, but the early "stephen malkmus and the jicks" stuff. The song "water and a seat" gets me there, dude. Please.
Pine Grove is amazing! Love their Audio Tree Live session.... But please do yourself a favor and check out Peach Pit! Great "Shoe Gaze Indie" with melting leads
Pg has been one of my favorites since 2017. So good and excellent live. Too bad the drummer just recently left the band and they went on a hiatus just as they're getting a lot of attention online.
Hi michael love the reaction vids. You should react to prob one of the best acoustic fingerstlye guitarists SUNGHA JUNG If not the best out there. I reccomend to check his original arrangements like NEON by john mayer its just insanely mind blowing PLS SEE THISS
interesting breakdown of one of my favs songs by pinegrove. one tiny note is that the guitarist playing the solo actually uses they/them pronouns. it might help to look into the bands you're covering just a bit before recording so you don't miss anything like that! still a fun video, cheers!
Pinegrove is a solid group, but they're in such an odd place with regards to their perception. Some people adore them and a lot of folks hate them. I especially don't understand why they're so polarizing. They're a solid band. Nothing special or genre defining, but thwy don't have to be. They made solid, a bit better than average music. A bit melodramatic, but people really love that. I don't understand the people that are so against their music. It's ok to like 6/10 music. It's nice!
as a huge pinegrove fan theres something about this comment that really rubs me the wrong way, i would rather someone just say "they suck" than "eh they're decent, 6/10" lmao

2017 is when I discovered them by a friend covering some of their songs. Makes me almost tear up
I got to see them a few years ago at a smaller venue and I’m so happy I got to see them. So much love for them ❤
Damn. I have been listening to PG for a bit, and had no idea they broke up within the last few months. This really brought me down. I cherish their old tunes, and went to a bunch of their sets in the tristate area.
I didnt hear about them until the pandemic, one of my most played bands during those times. The Districts + Pinegrove.
I saw them open for Into It. Over It. 2016 in San Diego, I had no clue who they were. It took a few months afterwards until I was obsessed with them! I never got to see them after that :( please come back Pinegrove! :)
I would watch a marathon video of you going through this entire short film
nothing would make me happier
I third this motion
I fourth this
Please do it! The entire thing is SO goddamn good.
I'll fourth this
Every pinegrove set is a masterclass in dynamic range…
One of the greatest feelings of my life was driving through Sequioa national park as the sun was setting with the light coming through the hemlocks and sequioas as that solo dropped. Made me feel limitless

Literally just commented about that mix. Master class from the folks at NPR.
Tiny desk is where I first heard Pinegrove, must’ve watched it 5000 times lol love them.
Audiotree is better imo but both are fantastic
Have loved this band for years, Im glad a big reaction channel has finally gotten around to them. Such talented songwriters. Hopefully we see more Pinegrove reactions on this channel in the future!
Seeing Zac (drums) give Nick (Guitar for the Solo) give them props because the two of them are siblings too. So touching
Michael, if you haven't yet, do yourself a favor and watch the full Amperland movie on your own time. So much incredible musicianship throughout. This song is just the tip of the iceberg
Love watching them live just to try and figure out what fingerings they use on guitar. Interesting how they form chords
This is nuts… “Darkness” played on my discover weekly playlist (had never heard them before) and was genuinely moved by the song. Great song, great band.
Hell yeah, Pinegrove!
6:11 also my face during that part haha
This is by far my favorite Pinegrove song. Its wild how they're blowing up right now.
It's so incredibly cool seeing the talent behind this band being talked about. I really hope this guy covers a lot more of their music.
Seeing Micheal nerd out over Pinegrove makes me feel so happy! Glad they got featured on the channel finally :)
Love pinegrove. They play with tempo a ton in their music which feels really live. Check out the Tiny Desk concert for some killer stuff. Props to the mixing on that video.
You should listen to that whole video! Every song on that album is a masterpiece!!
Try out Darkness by Pinegrove, probably my fav of theirs
Love Pinegrove so much. Saw them in a small venue and the crowd was singing so loud that I couldn't hear Evan lol. So much intelligence and nuance in their songs

@@Throwawayjim119 sounds incredible. I have family in cinci and hope to see a show there sometime.

Hell yeah love Pinegrove glad to see this band getting light shed on ❤
I’ve gotten a lot of joy from your videos over the last couple years. I was so delighted to see this video pop up recently. Pinegrove is one of my favorite bands. Thanks for giving them the time and attention for this video
"you got that one" to the drummer killed me
Great video. It was kind of fun watching you discover how great Pinegrove is.
One of my favourite songs of all time. Just brilliant. Somehow simple, yet entirely unique.
Pinegrove YES!!! So many great tunes
New band to me!
Love it, so much!
This is crazy. My favourite solo, so much feel
Have I missed something or are Pinegrove blowing up out of no where? Been a huge fan since their first album. Watching you dissect one of my favourite solos ever was incredible. I’m so here for the blow up. The band mean so much to me and just seeing any further content after their hiatus announcement is very welcome !!!!
yeah I think it's cause of that need 2 dance that was going around on tiktok
Their song Need 2 went viral on tik tok
Definitely all about the vibe..... And the vibe is STELLAR
I live in Barcelona and traveled to the Netherlands to see them back in 2016 when I first found out about them. The guitar player, Jodi, is also such an amzing artist and I love their music.
Getting ready to add Pinegrove to my "list" for listening!
You definitely should, could not recommend them more!
Love Pinegrove. Also like individual stuff from Jodi (Nico Levine) - who plays the solo here
Yo, Michael. I love what you do, and you've made me change my mind on numerous bands, I'd love for you to dive in on stephan malkmus. Not pavement which he's famous for, but the early "stephen malkmus and the jicks" stuff. The song "water and a seat" gets me there, dude. Please.
that solo flowed like a feather falling down, side to side, up and down
Man pinegrove has taken over my tik Tok the last two days and this pops up lol
The algorithm is real!!!
Santa Rosa here too!
This song reminds me of 90’s alternative Bohemian music which I dig it
Pinegrove is the best, man
Love Pine Grove. Would love to see Size of the Moon or Rings done.
God I love pinegrove
Took me way to long to realize the room colors matched what each band member was wearing
been commenting this bands name for years now, thank you lord
Hello, you are the best guitar analyst on UA-cam to me. I would love to see you react on some Andy McKee or Stricagnoli ! Take care !
The Audio Tree version of Aphasia by Pinegrove is close to perfection.
Pine Grove is amazing! Love their Audio Tree Live session.... But please do yourself a favor and check out Peach Pit! Great "Shoe Gaze Indie" with melting leads
You need to react to Red Leather !
‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’ has one of the best guitar solos and shifts I’ve heard in years.
reminds me of neil young
Holy shit Santa Rosa!
Pinegrove shuffle when
Definitely should check out the Audiotree session.
You gotta do jack-a-roe by the dead live at knickerbocker
Wish you would put the vid link in the description
Pg has been one of my favorites since 2017. So good and excellent live. Too bad the drummer just recently left the band and they went on a hiatus just as they're getting a lot of attention online.
sounds like My Morning Jacket
Is Brian Birbiglia related to the comedian Mike Birbiglia?
Hi michael love the reaction vids. You should react to prob one of the best acoustic fingerstlye guitarists SUNGHA JUNG If not the best out there. I reccomend to check his original arrangements like NEON by john mayer its just insanely mind blowing PLS SEE THISS
🙏react to Carmen by Marcin Patrzałek 🇵🇱❤️❤️❤️🤍🤍🤍🇵🇱
Have you ever reacted to any Lorna Shore?
That this band has gone completely over my head and so many others in Europe is a damn sin!
