That's a well thought out design, mate. I have a really good long throw spot torch, but I need something with a wide beam. It would work well for me in bush camps at night, and for those times when I revisit the Mt Etna Caves National Park in Central Queensland. So many caves worth exploring on that range.
Yeah never got a chance to got to Mt Etna caves, some cavers from my club were there many times poking around. Tes the light spread from this headlamp is much easier to see around caves without me twisting my head constantly when I'm wearing my miner's cap lamp that's for sure ,although I just got used to having a super strong beam from using miner's lamps for many years. but of course as you know they had a smaller globe to one side and that gave a broader lower light. My LED ones would be better for some roo spotlighting LOL.
