Thankyou so much for this! I have a vevor gem "faceting" machine and I've just been using the buffing plates on them with some fantastic results but they're really cost prohibitive now. I've been looking at the discs and wondering if they'd be any good but those look amazeballs! If you need a product tester in the UK feel free to send them my way! The struggle to get supplies is real over here!

🤝🤝🤝 👍👍👍👍👍( 12:00) The lack of uniform distribution of the mass of the circle in relation to its center leads to rapid wear of the bearings. Try to eliminate the imbalance of the grinding wheels as much as possible

Hi...Curious. i have a hi tech diamond 8" flat lap. i know they come in 8"...They are magnetic I believe? Do you know what I need to use these? The disc it will stick to? Thanks...super video

Hey there my friend I’m not sure if the hi tech diamond master labs that thing abrasive goes on or actually magnetic but you can get away with putting a piece of metal on the Master lab like using spray adhesive. Then you would have made the labs magnetic that way in order to use these.

Yeah you gotta know your stones and don't be cheap about quality grits and polishes. In the end being able to skip a grit step because you used a quality, more superior choice on the prior step saves you time and money and the absolute frustration of not starting over because of orange skin. It's not even to know about a stone , it's about knowing the stone in your hand. It's about knowing what works best with , let's say jade, and knowing the jade in your hand holds more softer minerals than a specimen you worked on last week and knowing that the resin diamond wheel might have more of a pulling effect than the metal wheel , which might end up pulling those softer minerals faster than the harder ones can grind , causing a demoralizing feeling when you see those imperfections pop out on that final lap. 😮😢hhhrrrrmmmmph🧐
The diamond wheels do look dope. Appreciate you taking the time to seriously almost hurt yourself, to show us, lol. I feel like you're the reincarnation of John Belushi. Let's make a comedy mockumentary about lapidary. Does one exist? I know I've seen a movie about a butter contest, Best In Show was hilarious, there have definitely been other mocks about hobbies but I can't recall anything pertaining to lapidary. Anyway I think the biggest problem would be deciding which characters and comical stories and absolute absurdities to pick off the lapidary mountain and recreate. Plus we can use it to showcase some of the best up and coming stone cutters jewelry crafters and rock hounds that are in the scene today. That's it... that's the title... "Cutters , Crafters and Hounds" the story of a gemstones journey , from a million years in its making to the hands of a master craftsman to your Prince Albert piercing. Lol
