Here's what I've learnt going through all their videos - This Ciri is not that old, only a few years after Witcher 3 (don't focus too much on her face, trailers and game models don't match) - She is however a noob Witcher - All Witcher 3 endings are canon, they will somehow not offend any choice - We will learn through game, and perhaps gameplay, why she came to this stage - She will be a more impetuous character, which she has always been, compared to the composed and neutral Geralt - This kinda blank slate approach allows player agency to make whatever decisions they want/like - Both story and gameplay allow for player choice, and the world reacts - So though there is an established character and world, for older gamers, newer gamers will feel at home - We, the players, will learn along with her, the protagonist, what it means to be a Witcher - The world will be dark and Ciri, and players, will learn that you can't always be the hero even if you choose the black or white side This gives me hope BONUS: - The chain is a usable tool, it can also be enchanted (upgrade or path specific perhaps) - Ciri is not just using Witcher signs, and swords, she also uses traditional magic as shown when the monster has gripped her - The gameplay will be an evolution of Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk - There will be newer areas to explore - There is a way to save the girl in the trailer, her name is Mioni 😊 It's Stromford, an isolated village far up north (not Velen) and you get to know these NPCs
@kaushalsuvarna5156 to say that ciri is a less neutral and more driven character than geralt.. by definition means the player has less agency. This has the potential to be another woke social commentary, and with the sort of writers that this company has been hiring, I wouldnt be suprised.
@@achaean7615 how does the player have less agency, geralt by his nature is supposed to be neutral and pick neutral choices but obviously players picked whatever they wanted to, Ciri is a lot less defined than geralt and can choose to be either smart about the situation or choose more emotional choices, that gives the player more choice
It's the natural progression from the third game. I don't know why people are so mad about it. Geralt retires at Corvo Bianco, CIri has trained her whole life for this, the only really happy ending in 3 is where she becomes a witcher, she disliked the idea of becoming empress.
I get that, but the part that doesn’t make sense is that she would have to nerf herself to be a Witcher. I hope CDPR has some clever writing to explain this.
@digitalgulby agreed.. there was really never any need for her to undergo the trials and become a witcher. Though if you want an explanation.. everybody knows what kind of writers this company has been hiring... I hope they do it justice, though I doubt it.
Maybe she's not using her elder blood powers because otherworldly forces can detect its use and can hone in on her. So much of her story is about others wanting to use her blood that it wouldn't surprise me if this game uses that in its plot.
Are they going to de-uglify her for the actual game? Cuz she doesn't look like our Ciri anymore. She's been replaced by a 55yo LA housewife with a face full of plastic and fillers 😢

if she is 100% Witcher than she can be old over 100 years and she will looks like she is 30 years old so we cant guess her age from looks

But she is now physically a Witcher, that's the rub
