    Look at the world bestowed unto our children
    Their lives are over before they have begun
    The weak lost in temptations of the flesh
    We see the will of tyrants gaining strength
    Fear in control... the screams are everywhere
    Now hear the sound of millions running scared
    We're crushed by the weight of the burden on our shoulders
    Relentless pressure to bridge this great divide
    The weak lost in the chasms of despair
    We see the nations crumbling to ash
    Fear in control... the screams are everywhere
    Now hear the sound of millions running scared
    Horrors so dark, this is no nightmare... this is real
    This is the end of life... the end of life we know
    Impossible to see a way for is to survive
    Awakening to fury... the fury of the death
    Relentless fire consuming everyone

    "Sylosis is a British melodic death metal band from Reading, Berkshire formed in 2000. They have used various genres in their music over the years with their first 2 EPs and debut album. They base themselves on 1980s thrash metal crossed with modern styles of music like metalcore. Sylosis was formed in late 2000 by original member Josh Middleton when they were back in school, as a bunch of kids who just wanted to play metal, mainly old school thrash and death metal"

    This is still my alltime favorite title. I mean, Havok is heavy af (give me liberty or give me death), but nothing will ever top this one. It truly deserves the title MASTERPIECE. Too bad Jamie left. It's just not the same band without him, HOAC doesn't really hit my taste either...

      Yeah the singer made a huge difference. It went downhill after that. But that's life, sometimes things work and sometimes they don't.

    • @kidra81
      @kidra81 4 роки тому

      @Don Vaporeon Yeah, amazing guitar player but average singer. It's simple, everybody can sing like Josh, but not everybody can sing like Jamie. I almost like all songs on their 1st record but have hard time finding any good songs from their later albums. But Teras is one of my favourite metal songs of all time. That's why makes me kinda sad, of what could have been. There's many bands where I miss the old singer. Fleshgod Apocalypse for example, singer left, drummer took over and passion is gone. Three Days Grace turned also really unpassionate and boring with new singer. Killswitch Engage I also stopped listening when Jesse Leach left for long time. And latest, one of my favourite rock acts, H.E.A.T singer left and new singer just doesn't have the passion that old singer had.

      Except they are way better, and the current version of this band is better than the current version of Trivium.

      I don't know man i think it comes down to personal preference, Trivium was great from Ascendancy through to Shogun, Shogun in particular is a masterpiece

      AZenith22B Trivium's new album is trash, so Sylosis is currently better.

      I have to say, Trivium is really heading downhill. They were heading downhill after Shogun but now it's getting even worse. Sylosis never disappoints \m/

    This is so far to the metal side of the metal - hardcore spectrum that to call this metalcore would be to call a communist a right wing extremist.

      You must be more into the Thrash than the Death/progressive in this band. I enjoy the new albums alot more from this band than the first album. I still like the first alot though, but I think that their new sound it more thick, evolving and interesting :)

    • @Jambax
      @Jambax 11 років тому

      THeMathMog93, you're probably right though maybe it's the production style that puts me off the newer stuff.
      IdiotBoy: Not really, given the most 'modern' albums I listen to and enjoy are probably from Gojira. The drumming and vocals on this album are in my opinion, way more interesting than what's going on with them now. Newer stuff bores me.

      *****
      Or, try Dyscarnate, Decapitated, Emerald Eyes, Lamb of God etc. Not exactly 'core' bands.

    Man these guys are sick, you can also tell where the guitarist got his shreding from, his Death tank pretty much says it all haha. And the bassist has a some sweet dreads.

    @SDMFAnthony The Venue is Face Bar in Reading. It's Their Hometown and where they have played for YEARS. That place gives so many bands the opporunity to get noticed so it's only fair losis recognise that. Which they have so they did it there.

    Still the best Sylosis song and best album aswell. And to think, this was their 1st studio album. Band lineup changes after that really made a huge difference.

      I'd say that Sylosis are still banging it though. And Josh is now also a god on vocals
