Absolutely. Looks like their Avatar game isn't doing very well, either, which is good to see. Already 40% off on Steam and it just launched, very few reviews, pushback in the discussion areas, etc. Hopefully people just stop buying their games altogether. I hope AC Shadows & Star Wars Outlaws are complete failures. These DEI studios need to go under completely.

Ubisoft knows Yasuke wasn’t a samurai. In fact anyone with any knowledge of Japanese history knows that. He was a weapon bearer for nobunaga, and most likely a bushi. But this is assassins creed. Inspired history. It’s not marketed or considered historical accurate and the series is most known for taking history and altering it to make it cool. The pope wasn’t the leader of the Templars in real life, da Vinci didn’t make weapons for assassins. Why are people complaining about historical accuracy now?

We Japanese are not averse to our culture and history being used by creators from other countries.
However, there is a clear line between fiction and fact/reality, and UBI has misjudged this line.
ACS is a "fantasy with a Japanese flavor" and is not set in "Japan based on historical fact" as the creators have stated in interviews.
We Japanese don't mind most things as long as they are fiction or fantasy. At the same time, we are very proud of our history and culture. We cannot stand it when complete fiction is painted over as if it were historical fact.
UBI should change its stance on ACS.
First of all, Yasuke is not a legendary samurai as some self-proclaimed Japanophiles would have you believe. He was a baggage handler of Lord Nobunaga, and it is doubtful that he was even a samurai. Akechi, the man who killed Nobunaga at Honnoji, captured Yasuke and then threw him out. This is not the treatment given to an important person (if he was an important person, he would have been killed or brought into the fold).
Yes, with a little more time, Yasuke may have had a future to even become a Daimyo (a powerful samurai who manages a group), but Nobunaga died in the middle of his ambition.

I just wanted to play as a Japanese ninja. I often don’t play as my race but I do believe it’s not wild to expect a Japanese samurai in a game based in Japan.
That game already exists and it's on PC now... it's called Ghosts of Tsushima...
You can play as Naoe for 90%+ of the game if you want. You are only forced to play as Yasuke for the tutorial and a few character locked missions.
Not even messing around, ghost of tsushima is the first game I've played in a long time that actually feels AAA

but Japan is a country that is basically tolerant and cooperative towards the creation of new works that are conscious of the imagination.
After all, there is freedom of expression.

I love the story of Shogun and the main character receives some HONORARY samurai titles and rewards ... but I also know that it is JUST A STORY and NOT REAL. The name of the game is Assassins Creed yet you pick to cast samurai instead of shinobi (ninja) into the main role? And to top it off you choose rap/hip hop as music for when he fights? In a game thats supposed to be "historical fantasy"?! At that point questioning competence of the ones who made those decisions is pointless as they have none.
The main protagonist is Naoe. She was the main focus of the development team. Yasuke was also a weapon bearer, not a curiosity. And lastly, it’s not hip hop that plays.

Play GoT instead. That game goes beyond video games it’s a work of art. Probably the only game I’ve played where I’ll stop and just ride off in the wilderness at sunset with the volume up and enjoy the scenery and forget I’m playing a game! Game is brilliant 😮💨

@@CujoHyer massive usually puts out good games, and the gameplay looks exactly how I wanted it.
Outlaws looks so bland and uninspired, the exact opposite of what made Respawn’s SW games great.
UBI will probably have to do another round of layoffs when AC Shadows fail to meet sales expectations.

Well lets go down the list of why I'm not buying it...
Predatory and outrageous pricing
Day one DLC and pay restricted content... and of course early access.

And the biggest reason why I think people are getting sick of this entire industry. They never once apologize. Never once do they respect the opinion of fans. NEVER ONCE do they accept responsibility for all the bad choices. Destroyed franchises. Ruined game companies. Thousands of people out of there job. Millions if not billions of dollars flushed right down the fucking drain. BUT LOOK AT ALL THE DIVERSE PEOPLE WHO NOW HATE THE GAMING INDUSTRY! yay....
